Thanks for the shout out 😀. TfW publicly are saying 197s will be in service by the end of the year, but they are hoping for an Autumn start date. Still need to go and see the model railway.
Tf w don't say which year doubt that the service will see any improvements from the shambles that the train service is here in Wales especially in the Cardiff area
This was yet another very enjoyable Simontrains Railway Journeys it must of been awesome to meet Pete Waterman at the Making Tracks 2 layout at Chester Cathedral the layout did look awesome I must say also il agree with you the station building at Chester is very quaint indeed and it was nice to see the TFW Class 67 again too I continue to enjoy watching your Vlogs Simontrains carry on being awesome keep up the good work my friend take care and stay safe
I like how the two 153s at Chester were marshalled with the original ends both facing outwards. Besides the extra cab windows at the inner ends, it looks like a Class 155 in TfW colours.
Great video, Cyber! That model layout at Chester Cathedral was fab. Even though Chester station was a bit quieter than usual, you still captured some interesting things like the 197s!
Thank you for sharing Simon. I enjoyed seeing the model railway layouts at Chester Cathedral. The attention to detail is astounding. They could almost pass for the real thing. 🙂
awesome video awesome to see a 175 doing the Crewe to Chester shuttle i remember when i went to Wales in 2019 i had to change at Crewe and i had a 175 from Crewe to Rhyl as it was a sunday and TFW ran an hourly Crewe to Holyhead on sundays shame mine was unrefurbished but anyway Chester is a lovely station and its a lovely city and recomend a day out in Chester and the model railway looks amazing keep up the awesome work and looking forward to the next journey
Really nice railway vlog Simon. I really wanna go back to Chester at some point and see this model railway and film at Chester station. I enjoyed watching as always.
Really nice filming locations and the visit to the cathedral to see the model layout was great, I noticed that they were running scale length train formations and the ohle was another nice touch. The only downside to the day was that you had to walk to Rugeley TV and their wasn't any class 37's and Regional Railway mk 1 and 2 stock going from Crewe to Holyhead!!!🤔👍
Thanks Paul, I honestly don't mind the walk as sometimes I can grab a few items from the town centre along the way like food and it's only 30 minutes. Can agree with the second one, would had loved to see a Class 37 with MK1 or MK2 coaches. I do remember travelling on the Class 37s to North Wales and boarded one at Stafford in the mid 90s, a Cass 37, a few Regional Railways coaches but they also had a chocolate and cream MK1 coach as well in the rake. (think it was hired in)
Brilliant vlog, hoestly it does sound like Crewe was chaotic but hey a Class 175 ride to Chester sounds good (although Class 153's rock and were perfectly fine on that service despite it being busy). Shame about the spotting session at Chester being a bit dissapointing though and Pete Waterman's layout is fantastic indeed. :)
I've enjoyed the sequel still even if that 175 replaced the 150/2 dammit!! Glad you managed to get some goose footage still from the Making Tracks II Event and met Pete himself! The Transport for Wales Class 197 Civity do look really nice and brand new. Are TfW replacing the Class 170/2 and Class 175 with the Class 197. If so then EMR should inherit the Class 170/2 and the Class 175 to be cascaded to ScotRail or Northern.
@@arnoldspottingvideos5269 Ok. Or perhaps ScotRail to inherit the Class 379 Electrostars that are in storage and were used on Greater Anglia. Before they were replaced by the Class 720s.
Think EMR are getting the Transport for Wales Class 170/2s but the Class 197s are not replacing the Class 170s, that will be the Class 231 the Stadler Flirts which you will see in next week video (28th August) not sure where the Class 175s will end up

Not sure on that one but totally agree that it looks better like a Class 155.

Great video sherlock. The class 197s look lovely in TFW livery and 1:05 two dessies having a race at Rugeley Trent Valley
Thanks Arnold, 1:05 is the reason why I walk to Rugeley TV to catch my train, could get the one at half 0725 but it a bit of a wait at Rugeley TV
Loved the video Simon!
Thanks Middleport

Thanks Tico and yes that Class 175 did replace the Class 150/2 BUT a Class 150/2 did replace the Class 175s run to South Wales as well.
5th of September for 197s. November for 777s.
That the date I heard for the Class 197, but didn't want to put that in and just kept it September
Great video Simon,i was wondering is Making Tracks 2 a permanent display at Chester C.? If not how long will it be there for .🍻 cheers
Thanks Robert, It's on display till the 3rd September

350/2s will go to ScotRail
Class 350/2 to ScotRail. How did you hear about that?
@@Andrewjg_89 cause they will replace the 334s, 320s and maybe 318s
