honestly with all of the roadmap changes to war thunder im happy for new players to come in, still one heck of a (exploitative) grind but much better now for sure
Like video
I don't want to be picky, but the Berlin wall fell on November 9th. Greetings from germany.❤🇩🇪
i heard that canada did a lot of war crimes is that chru
The German military may lose a war but they would always win in a fashion show.
Heute Deutschland, Morgen Balenciaga!
Theyre good at being fashionably evil historically.
Their uniforms were so prevalent in pop culture that it even inspired the look of Darth Vader in the Star Wars films, His helmet was said to be inspired by the Stalhelm which was heavy featured in anti Axis propaganda
Man, German uniform has the best drip. 🗿🍷🔥
I love how the german military still uses the traditional German uniforms while performing military Traditions. Search up the “Großer Zapfenstreich” and you will see what I’m talking about.
The uniform of Germany has always been aesthetically pleasing
I always love how the german uniforms looked
mfw the germans uniforms looking odly grey while in poland
I don’t blame the Chileans for taking inspiration, and along with the Finns and Hungarians
Can't blame them. It's drippy as hell. @@seanmatto2258

Fun Fact:
The Bundesgrenzschutz also used the Stahlhelm in maneuvers
The Bundesgrenschutz is basically the most Wehrmacht of all the West German security services. They used the same Stahlhelm as the Wehrmacht, the same cut of uniform as the Wehrmacht, the same boots as the Wehrmacht (just with an additional "democratic boot buckle" to make it not-Wehrmacht), used the same guns as the Wehrmacht, and are allowed to sport the same awards as the Wehrmacht (cleansed of any past symbolism obviously)...
And the stg44
@@roo99710 U r absolutly correct

It would be cool to see early modern German uniforms too.
From before 1871.
Kinda difficult cause tons of nations had different uniforms
@@ghostie7028 it wouldn’t be too hard to do the major ones. Like Bayern, Sachsen, Prussia etc
Heck yeah! You need to do these at minimum: Bavaria, Saxony, Baden, Württemberg, and Prussia.
It would be cool but unlikely seeing Germany before its unification existed out off 32 states with each there own uniform and depending on the regiment and where from the uniform might change where talking easily around a 100 different uniforms
So as I said unlikely its sadly unlikely but understandable
@michael-prime9567 Not as difficult as you would think. Most of the state uniforms you mentioned are relatively generic and similar to one another. The only ones that really stand out are the ones I mentioned earlier.
The story of how the G3 came into being is one of my favorites. Basically Germany wanted to employ FN to provide them with FAL rifles, but the Belgians (to some degree understandably considering the history) said no, so Germany basically said "Fine, we'll make our own FALs!" and developed the G3.
Germany initialy had some licensed built Heckler & Koch Gewher 1 (FALs), however H&k bought CETMEs rifle reinforced to withstand NATOs 7.62x51mm pressure, it was then put to compete in Bunderswehr to replace their G1s, with CETMEs rifle winning the competition nd deseguinated a G3
You imply that the G3 and FAL are the same. This is false. They couldn't be more different, and have nothing to do with each other, beyond using the same caliber cartridges. Completely different. No connection at all.
There's a bit of misinformation in this thread that needs to be cleared up. The newly formed Bundeswehr initially adopted the G1 as their standard rifle, and the Belgians were willing to sell it to the Germans (they ultimately sold 100K of them). However, once the topic of licence production came up that's when the Belgians refused, and the Germans instead took to adapting the CETME rifle into the G3.
@@17cmmittlererminenwerfer81i mean they do serve the same role. I guess thats what counts
it seems to me that the G3 was a copy of the Spanish rifle CETME, and it has finally eclipsed that gun
The German uniforms is by far the one thing I always get fascinated with, no matter what time period it’s in, they’re just far too iconic for it to be forgotten.
The simplicity and litzen bars look great
"Hey Siri, what's the definition of drip?"

Dude, VERY COOL!
Finally, the lineage of modern uniform videos are complete! Farewell good series of 2 years, you will be missed. Or not...
There are other nations they could do, India comes to mind, China too
We're all done with uniform videos for now! No more scheduled so far in 2024.
@@TheArmchairHistorian Love the content, maybe in 2024 we will get a Spanish uniform history video? Often overlooked for a former military power haha

I was hoping to talk about the black Prussian uniforms that were kept during the German Empire that were worn by the Marshal August von Mackensen
Danke für diesen tollen beitrag, auch ich habe hier was gelernt. Vielen dank das ihr mit Leib und Seele dabei seid!!!
Thank you for yalls awesome content, I love the uniforms you cover!
Nice to see this video is getting a remaster
With Evolution Uniforms making a return, i was curious if you guys could do a Ottoman/Turkish Uniform evolution?
Really nice Video (:
Vielen Dank dafür ^^
Bro you can do the evolution of italian uniforms from the unification to modern times?
das interessiert keinen
I love your channel keep up the great stuff
Thanks for the video bro
ur vids are great keep up the work
Awesome Griffin please do one of your next videos on an updated version of the evolution of US Army Uniforms and maybe make a separate video on the Evolution of USMC Uniforms
Love your vids and the citation of sources in the description, but I really think you should indicate in the video where you are drawing from each one
finally, a new evolution video! :D
Excellent video thank you
Awesome! Keep up the great work.
This is a great remake of the old video
i just wanna say thank you for taking the time to make this video have a good day
Great video, they’ve always made nice uniforms.
15:09 Ah, was surprised to see the BFC here! They also had the three lions of England on their collar
Always great to see another uniform history! I love this stuff, especially since Germany has some of my favorites.
Speaking of War Thunder, is there a chance of seeing videos like this for other branches? Pilots, tankers, sailors, etc?
Gebhard Lebrecht Von Blücher is my favorite Field Marschall tbh
Nice, a remake of a good old video!
Videos on earlier uniforms for many countries would be interesting, albiet likely unpopular. Love the video anyways.
Love this “remastered” version of the German army uniform evolution. Would love to see this for your evolution of British army uniform!! I felt that it missed out on some uniforms such as the Irish or Scottish regiment during the different periods, ww1 African & Middle East theatre, ww2 far east uniform in Singapore & Burma, The King’s African Rifles and some cavalry uniform like the life guards or even the King’s German Legion in the napoleonic wars
Very cool vids. You explained the uniforms, vehicules, tanks, squad organisation. Can you also explain the ranks? And military schools and academyes of WW2 Germany? I think it would be a very cool vid
i would love to see a *Evolution Of Canadian Uniforms* video. we are in the background of history military wise still to much. Love the Videos as always!!!
Wish I knew more history channels like this who actually cite sources
Will we finally get an Italian uniform video
The graphics look amazing

Italy next?
Hey ive been watching your videos since last year and I really enjoyed watching your videos and learning lots of things in your channel I really like if you could show the evolution of Spanish army uniforms if you can do that thanks! ❤
germany must always put dudes who failed art school as their commanders so they can get stronger
I need more. I love these videos
I’ve been hoping you’d do this, German uniforms are one of the most iconic in the world if not THE most and I love it. It’s a shame some of them have to be attached or remembered for some horrible stuff
A remastered version from three years ago? Not what we asked for but, I’m okay with it. And it’s longer, so this is more helpful.
I ordered the poster with Christmas money I love the designs keep it up
Can you do evolution of Italian Uniforms next? They have amazing designs.

The "Tropentarn" you're displaying is actually the brand new "Multitarn", which is currently being issued to german military Special Forces, and its currently to my knowledge not planned, to introduce it to the regular armed forces - but i may be wrong on that. The Tropentarn looks different than the multitarn youre displaying here. Best Regards!
You're right 👍
And the New rifle the german army gets is not the 416a7 but the 416a8. Only the KSK/KSM get the 416a7(G95).
But actually its planned to get multitarn into the force sooner or later. Its in testing at the moment but Nottings save yet
The Stahlhelm is the best and the most badass helmet ever made!
Updated version goes brrrr
1:30 his rifle randomly becomes bigger after passing the building
I fucking love this channel...
Best series!!
20:00 for those wondering camouflage is named Multitarn
Haha the Weimar Republic soldier standing in front of the 200.000.000 Reichsmark bread stand is a nice detail and reference to the hyperinflation in the Weimar Republic in 1925/1926.
A few points to the uniform, various units still use the 1990 helmet and only the ksk has the g95 while the infantry will get their hands on them in 2024-2026, also we have different uniforms for different Branches, we have the lochkoppel from the 2nd World war for non infantry units, then we have mobast for infantry and idz for panzergrenadiere and ksk
Finland next?
YES! PLEASE!
Nice video
the german uniforms update is here!
I had just watched the previous version of this video when I received the notification 😮
Fun Fact: After the second world war the Bundesgrenzschutz had kept a lot of the former Wehrmacht Equipment and Traditions, They re-used: the Stahlhelms, Guns, Camouflage Smocks and also used similar Uniforms and Boots which were based off the original Wehrmacht Uniforms. The fact that they used Machine Guns and Camouflage Smocks is already to crazy. Sometimes the Bundesgrenzschutz was also referred to Germany's 2nd Military. The weirdest thing about this is, that the Bundesgrenzschutz nowadays is the Bundespolizei (Federal Police).

i love the Prussian uniforms
How long will the posters stay in shop ?
Are we gonna get an updated Russian uniform video? Its quite short compared to this one, and its ad takes up like 20% of the whole vid
Love it
I think, the FG-42 isn't usually considered an assault rifle. (Select fire, intermediary cartridge, and a detachable box magazine.) FG-42 still uses the full sized 8mm Mauser cartridge. But I'm no expert.
Maybe battle rifle? its really hard to put it somewhere because supposedly it was also supposed to be used as a squad automatic weapon with its bipod and open bolt (on full auto) design.
FG-42 is basically an automatic rifle that does the job of a standard infantryman rifle (Kar98k) and a light machine gun (MG42) at the same time. Ultimately its a specialist weapon for paratroopers as its multi role weapon that sacrificed durability and cost to make a weapon that could be carried by paratoopers on combat jumps.
At 15:21, I can faintly hear General Weidling's capitulation speech from Downfall. Really cool, guys.
And I thought no one will spot it! Thx for spotting it. There is also another announcer in the Defense of Berlin part, I would like to see if you can find the source.
6:05 Wilhelm scream?
12:19 *Battle rifle. FG 42 used full caliber rifle cartridges.
Yep, you spotted it! You get a plus from me! (The sounddesigner)
You guys should do the Evolution of the German Navy
Wishing you goodluck keep it up 🙏
You should start a series about the evolution of fighter planes or the air force in general of various nations.
Your channel is my favorite channel on RUclips. Can you please cover the history of
Italian, Chinese, Korean, Indian military uniforms and vehicles please. Thank you and please keep up the amazing content,.
The germana said it's drip or drown and they be dripping
I collect a lot of modern and cold-war era camo patterns and field jackets, and by far the best looking contemporary stuff is German. The Flecktarn pattern is just pure fire, and East German Strichtarn is pure drip. West German gear is definitely monotone, but it just looks absolutely sleek, especially their Forstergrun Polizei jackets.
Please do one for the Canadian military
For real I love Canada
OH CANADA❤
Most of the uniforms were British infantry during ww2 but maybe
That would be great 👍
Nah Canada has no history…
Great video
You forgot the camouflage smocks and uniforms of the wehrmacht during ww2.
Mobast (The Carrier System) and KBS SK (Combat Gear and Uniform) is still very limited available in the Bundeswehr. We barely have enough to equip our infantry forces. As for the so called HK416, it's supposed to replace the G36 by the end of this year, but somehow i haven't seen a single one of those yet...
As a former Soldier who served in the Bundeswehr, the timeline presented here from the olive to flecktarn to the modern variations seems inaccurate and wierdly explained.
Main points I can direction adress:
- No mention of the Lockkoppel, a equipment system that came before any proper wests and is still given out to recruits today xD basically a harness that you can attach mag pouches, pouches etc to.
- the Flakwest which was depicted to be 2001 till present is also not accurate, the basic Flakvests are one of the few equipment items actually fully phased out very quickly xD
- No mention of the actual full West system and "Infanterist der Zukunft" loadout, which came in multiple variations and included stuff like fully modular Vests incoporating SK4 protection
- "in 2005 it became noticeably muted". I mean, thats what happens with old uniforms, yeah. New ones were still brightly coloured. I had both sets of old and new pants + field blouses and the old stuff which went through many reuse cycles was muted, new stuff was more vibrant.
- Only mentioning G36A2, which is a very old model and afaik most of the afgahnistan kits had the G36K modular system (I personally saw / had training with A3/4).
And most these Infos can be found my lookin at basic wikipedia pages even.
This video gave me a feeling that the Bundeswehr part of the video was just poorly put together for looks and not really properly research or theres a point im entirely missing.
You should make a video on the history of Italian armies uniform
It would’ve been nice if you also showed their Air Force and their special police force modern day uniforms in the end because of their headgear and armor including using chainmail at some points
Just this just got updated.
Griffins german pronounciation is really getting better
How many of these will you re-make?
Could u do one with danish uniforms?
This guy Makes fire
The U.S. Army's 1980s and 1990s era Kevlar Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops Helmet was sometimes called the "Fritz helmet" for its resemblance to the German Stahlhelm. The U.S. Army and Marines have continued to use a design akin to the PASGT heltmet with MICH TC-2000 Combat Helmet and Lightweight Helmet, respectively.
The Chinese People's Liberation Army soldiers still used M1935 helmets which were captured from the Chinese Nationalist Army during the Chinese Civil War until the 1970s.
That german drip is no joke
Thank god,you did a remake
The olive green uniforms and the M1 helnets were still widely used until the mid 90s. The only Flecktarn equipment I had in 1994 were the Kampfrucksack (battle backback) and helmet cover, which was designed for the M92 helmet and therefore didn't really fit the old M1 steel helmets. As far as I remember units like the German-French Brigade. My sergeant who transfered from that brigade to my artillerie unit even had to return his Flecktarn uniform and get the old olive green uniform.
During my basic training due to equipment shortage my unit (and probably many more) got AK bayonets that we, of course, couldn't fit to our G3 assault rifles, which were from the early 1960s. So, it is possible that my father who was in the same unit as I during his basic training was trained on the same rifle as I. 😂
Knew this was coming!
oh hell yeah, a remaster!
