You roll with ALL dice your character has available. Dice of the not needed color can be combined..so for example a 3 and a 4..can be turned into a black dice of the lover value..so you get a black 3
Well after i watched another video of how to play, i found yours and its so nice and smooth explicated that now i know what i was doing wrong. Thank you.
Very nice video with great flow. I just wished the dice tray would have stayed visible at all time after the roll. Other than that, it was really great! Now on to part 2 :)
Thanks for the great video! I just got 1DD & Expansion. Going to film an unboxing tonight but wanted to see the game first. So glad I found your video! Have a great weekend.
I'm REALLY getting into One Deck Dungeon, finally.....but it took an age. I must have played it at around twenty coffee shops over the space of a few weeks before I really sort of *got* it and started to enjoy the experience. Wow, though....those end bosses are really hard. I can't beat the dragon from dragon's cave at ALL.
I am learning so much from this tutorial. At minute 7 you spent 3 on time but turn reference states spend 2 at start of turn, where did the 3rd time spent come from?
Liz, as both the original and the expansion have 2 of each type of encounter cars, I merged them by removing all the duplicates. So my current ODD deck has one type of each trap or monster card, ensuring that EVERY encounter is different and increasing the variability of each game. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the new poison rules, however. 🤪
Those squares are for perils. If you encounter a peril, you choose which color dice to use (2 choices on peril cards). Roll only that color (and black if applicable) and apply them to the peril and dungeon cards.
1 of 2 things are likely true. 1) the one player and two player sides have different requirements OR 2) there are some differences between the original version of the game and version 1.5/1.6 (essentially the same version, but 1.6 includes the expansion rules in one book.) The 1.5 version was rolled out at the time of the expansion launch in response to people offering feedback that the game seemed too hard, so that might account for an easier level-up stat. boardgamegeek.com/thread/1848192/odd-v16-rulebook-includes-forest-shadows-pdf
Should I get role player? Asking both of you. I just got into table top games and play solo games in front of my daughter while she eats dinner, telling her everything im doing so she just hears more words. And then do the same with my wife as well in 2 player games. So would this be a great game for that? We love one deck dungeon. Boss monster is our favorite game so far tho.
Done watching. Pretty good demo! You know the rules well and don't hesitate, presenting the game quite clearly. My only issue is that I can't make out the smaller text on the cards - mainly skills and potions - so it would have been helpful if you'd read the text aloud in addition to explaining them. That's a small nitpick, though. Hmm, does your channel focus on fancier single-player tabletop games like this one? Interesting!! I think I'll subscribe. :)
Cool, thanks!! :) My wife and I took One Deck Dungeon along and tried it while we were around town for our anniversary today, and I must admit I didn't enjoy searching for bouncing dice in public.
such a clear play through I feel like i don't even need to read the rule book. thanks!
Thank you for an exceptionally well explained play through.

I know it’s a long time ago but I’m new to board gaming so I’m just picking this game up. You are my go to for play throughs and teaching. Ty
What a brilliantly explained playthrough for a new board gamer like myself. Thank you for this.

Brilliant job! I've had this for ages and never got around to playing it till now. Thanks.
This play through explains the game so well!

Sweet. Nice clear audio made it easy to follow along. Great job!

Great presentation
nice playthrough video, 1 thing i want to point out quick is that you can kite your 1 damage and take no damage at a cost of 1 time.

Amazing 👏

Hi! Great vídeo! Please, where did you get that playmat?!?!?!
I just ordered it off of Amazon! :)
On the first combat roll, could you have not combined the wild 3 with your combat 2 to make 5 and cover that final challenge space?
Exactly my thoughts. She should've been able to take 0 damage with that combination (from my understanding)...
So if I roll and can't cover a 5 yellow requirement that only let's me fill thr space with one dice do I take thr consequences?
Nice job!
Just at the end of the video why did you put the skill card under the reference card and not under your character ?
Thanks for watching! I put it under the reference card because that card's reward is a potion and you track potions on the ref card.
Beyond Solitaire so I am assuming it does not count towards your skill limit. Thanks
That is correct. Have fun playing!
Your dice rolling is significantly better than what I am able to deliver when playing this game. Are you getting the newest expansion?
I picked it up recently, and it's in my pile of shame. (...Or is it pile of excitement?)

Is the 2 shield on the dungeon card colorless? Can I roll any die for that or does it have to be from what im already rolling?
Any color die will work for that..
Those squares are for perils. If you encounter a peril, you choose which color dice to use (2 choices on peril cards). Roll only that color (and black if applicable) and apply them to the peril and dungeon cards.
Was this game "patched"? My copy I just got is 6xp to level up from 1 to 2.

Which game do you prefer, one deck dungeon or roll player?
Honestly? Roll Player. But ODD is good fun.

Oooh, I like your leather dice tray... Pretty...
(Still watching the video, so I don't have much of substance to say yet)

That dice tray is from Chip Theory Games, and you can get one from their online store if you so desire. :)

The only thing I don't like about the game is the terrible sexism (no male heroes).
