I love the way BBS does covers. They always respect the original, but still put their twist of lime or spice that never tramples the artist's original concept. That's a fine line that more times than not, is crossed when doing a cover. The Smoke does 'em better than anybody in my mind!
Me and some friends rode to the tail of the dragon that year and my buddy's Buell let the smoke out of the voltage regulator so we rode all the way to smoky mountain harley for parts and I wandered over to the shed and I'll be damned if these dudes weren't settin up guitars and sound stuff on stage . I stayed for the show cause I knew who they were while the others left. I had already saw them many times in GA where I live . Couldn't pass that up . Long ride back but what a hell of a weekend🤘

Charlie & company have an uncanny ability to pick & perform first-rate covers... shows me the great respect and admiration they have for the originals! I'd buy their entire catalog AND see them as often as I can without the covers... just makes 'em that much better!!

you could go and look at all kinds of blackberry smoke live in studio and sirius,etc. You'll likely run across a comment, made by me saying"these guys picked up the torch The Black Crowes dropped are doing a better job. I think the Crowes great stuff was between 94-97.but the best stuff that they've ever done was when Luther Dickinson came into the band on "Warpaint"."before the frost until the freeze"... Those albums are really good. These guys are keeping that stuff alive and doing a better job.

Been a Crowes fan forever, been into BBS for a couple years now. Saw them open for ZZ Top a couple years ago, and just absolutely blew ZZ Top off the stage. I do have a question for y'all longtime BBS fans though: where can I find a list of covers that BBS do live? Crowes fans have Crowesbase.

Dale Rossington loaned Charlie Gary’s SG two weeks ago for the show in St. Augustine. He played Gary’s Freebird slide solo then went into Tuesday’s Gone. Needless to say, it was very special. A couple of clips are on RUclips.
The Black Crowes, Blackberry Smoke, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and all the other great bands with black in the title, not a Sabbath can but this is my comment so my choices. There's loads more but my addled sixty year old brain and working at five in the morning and some barbs n benzos don't help, but hey most people who spent thirty years on fixing light n dark didn't make it this far, and when alls said and done , it was the best of times, it was the worst of times ( to quote Dickens).
I love BlackBerry Smoke... but Chris Robinson's voice has something extra, more soul I guess. The Black Crowes are one of my favorite bands so I'm hard to please when it comes to covers. Love the original BlackBerry Smoke stuff however.
Love CStarr and BBerry Smoke....No Rich Robinson...no Crows. This is a good version for sure. Love me some Smoke...and some Crows...I love the effort and it is certainly a good version. Rich is just so good, that this isnt quite there.
