Hey Nina-Marie....girl, your watercoloring is just beYOUtiful and I'm so happy you talked about the Karin markers. You see, it was over a year ago when I purchased them, yet I haven't had a chance to use them, so you've inspired me to 'get going'. When there is such an infinite amount of knowledge and practice that is needed when learning new techniques and/or working with new mediums, even though we won't to do it all, there is only so much time in a day. Thanks for the 'push' NM....I'm off to the craft room shortly to have a play with the Karin markers. Take care of yourself, dear one, and please stay safe.
Two beautiful cards. I purchased the full set of Karin markers some time ago to use for watercoloring. Up to that point I always used Distress Inks which I still love. However, I wasn't in love with them when I first used them. I thought they were too bright and this is the reason you liked them. But after watching your video I will try them again. Thank you for a fabulous video. I would like to see more inspiration with Karin markers.
OMG...your painting is AMAZING & your card is stunning!!! I love how you cut around the shutters and "raised" them. The sparkle is a great touch!!! You are making me want (okay...need) the Karin markers. I just wish I could afford the as I know me...if I don't get the 60 set, I'll regret it!!! Yea, I suffer from "full set" syndrome, like most crafters. LOL
I cannot wait for my kit to arrive!! These are beautiful and inspiring! We’ve gotten about 10” of snow in the last couple of days so making some happy spring cards would be fabulous!
Beautiful cards Nina! But I was not so enamored with the KM from the past card kit, so I am still a die-hard Zig fan! Thanks for sharing your cards and tips! 🥰😃😃✨👍🏾
I have the Karin markers but didn't like my results with them, although I do love the vibrancy. You've given me encouragement to try again after seeing your gorgeous cards. Thanks for the great video!
Beautiful Nina! I couldn't get the Zigs to blend nicely when using them direct to paper no matter what paper I used. I always have to spread some color out on a block or my board. That always bummed me out. I LOVE how you SHOW how you do things! Thank you! This no line is just beautiful!
I love my Karin markers with the exception of the gray colors. I cant get them to blend on paper to save my life! I cant figure out for the life of me why they would make the gray colors (especially since there are so many) a different make up than the other colors. I have no problems getting the other colors to blend but the grays just stand out like a sore thumb when applied direct to paper. I’ve tried all kinds of different papers. If you have a trick I’d love to know it! I always enjoy your videos, please keep sharing! 💜
Beautiful colouring. I love the colours of Karin markers but I have trouble getting some to blend. They definitely don’t blend as easily as yours did! I put the wet brush straight to the ink on the card and it’s as if it’s already dried and won’t blend out so well 😳 maybe it’s the card? I’m using watercolour card. Some colours are better than others too
Different types of watercolor paper do affect how the colors blend out. You may want to try a different brand and see if that helps! On this project I used Tim Holtz watercolor paper
Hi Nina, I really like how you explain this. Cam you tell me about the paintbrush you use? I have had trouble figuring out just the right one for smaller spaces. Thank you for all you do.
Just wondering about the hardboard that you used... I noticed you’re working on a glass surface and wanted to know why you didn’t use that rather than the hardboard?
LOL Because I am a klutz and I knew I would most likely stick my arm, hand or paper in it if I put it directly on my mat! It was just personal preference. :)
Thanks for this video! I’ve been wanting to try Karin markers. I have Zig brush markers and don’t care for them... Nina, my question is how do Karin markers compare to Tombow watercolor markers? I have those too and wondering if the Karin markers are better?
I find Karin markers much more "juicy" and saturated than Tombows! The tips are about the same size and feel. I feel like Karin markers blend easier than Tombows, too. :)
Do you ever have issues of your Karin markers being brighter up against the black ink? It almost like the markers absorb into the black ink. Not sure if I explained that right but I’m just looking to see if it’s me, the ink (I used Gina K amalgam ink).
Are you referring to bleeding when they come up against the black ink? If my ink isn't completely dry before I start coloring, I do experience bleeding of the black into the color.
Wow!!! Love those shutters!! Love my Karin markers!!😊😊
I LOVE my Karin markers. Super vibrant and makes a quick and easy watercolor!
It really does!

I totally get it! It's all personal preference!
Beautiful cards! I want the Karin markers...the vibrancy is gorgeous
Beautiful cards, Nina-Marie! Thank you for showing the Karin markers.

@@NinaMarieTrapani You're so welcome! You're a sweetheart!
Thank you for providing this video. The review of Karin markers was helpful.
I'm so happy it was helpful!!
Very pretty cards; love how you painted them.
Thank you!!
Such a beautiful card!
This was definitely an inspiration! Thank you.

That's so strange that you have trouble with the grays. I've never experienced this, so unfortunately I don't have any tricks for you. I'm sorry!
One of the most beautiful cards I’ve seen in a long time.
Oh my gosh, thank you!
i bought these markers love them so much better than zig!
Me too!

Beautiful cards. Can you tell me the brand of paintbrush you are using? I know it’s a round 2 but I was wondering exactly what kind it is
Thank you!! It’s a Simply Simmons brush :)
Hi Nina, I really like how you explain this. Cam you tell me about the paintbrush you use? I have had trouble figuring out just the right one for smaller spaces. Thank you for all you do.
Thank you Diana! I used a #2 round for this project. Typically I use a 4 and 2 on most of my stamped images. :)
Thank you, Nina-Marie. Your work is always stunning💙💛

Are you. Using a size 1 brush?
A #2 round!

Yes exactly! I’ll have to test my wait times after stamping. Thanks for helping and the info. I appreciate you!
