Thanks, Terri. I've been struggling with high blood pressure and asked about intuitive eating with tracking sodium in the FB group. I understand why you couldn't answer it. I have to be mindful of what I'm eating because certain foods can throw me over the daily amount of sodium I should be getting daily. Even though this episode was about diabetes, I feel like the sentiment is the same; lean into a nutritious balanced "diet" from a holistic approach. While I use an online tracker (won't say which one), it is to keep an eye on my sodium intake, not my calories. I still am trying to use my body to tell me when I'm satisfied and truly hungry and I still eat foods because I crave them, i.e. a nugget of dark chocolate will do and if I want another, I eat it but I keep a mindful eye on my sodium. I will also say that I think many factors play into my high blood pressure and while I control what I can I realize age and hereditary factors play a role (mom had high BP and diabetes and died young). But, I also realize my lack of planning and relying on a steady diet of a fast food lunch, no matter how healthy I was trying to keep it, was not helping so preplan my shops, brown bag my lunches, prepare easier dinners at home, and rarely eat on the run but it's all still intuitive and I enjoy it more. Anyway, I'm not sure a staple diet of Wendy's for lunch was "intuitive".
When you need to limit something for medical reasons it can be so tricky, and I know that the motivation to keep up the planning ahead of your food can be tiresome. The important thing is that you know what works for you, and it seems like you've found your way. No, Wendy's is probably not the intuitive way if it's a last minute every day occurrence 😂 Sounds like you're doing great now.
@@terripughcoachingThanks, Terri. Doing all the things can be a bit tiresome when you're used to autopilot but the normal dat to day is shifted and becomes regular, it is much more satisfying.
