I was very much surprised to learn that this tune was written by a man living today, it fits right in with all the tunes of tradition
I love your style, abilities, and instruction so very much. You are the very best! Showing it to my nephew Zachary in NJ.
Thanks @Lauren Derstine Humphrey -- both for following along, and for helping spread the word! :) The more of us who know these tunes, the more we can all jam them together, right?!
This is one of my favourite tunes! Thanks for explain it in such a detailed way.
Mine too, @Jose Luis Pumarega! :) Looking forward to jamming it with you when we cross paths out in "the real world"!
@@mariblackmusic if you ever come to Madrid, Spain, we have a nice irish session in the Collin's Irish tavern!
Sounds great, @@maelmori ! :)
Great stuff! Michael is English born but has two Irish Parents so I guess it is an Irish tune :)
Thanks @Martin Laird! One never knows how to properly "count" these tunes that are fantastic enough to transcend traditional county/country/style lines, does one? :)
mariblackmusic Exactly! I’d say this is a tune for all humanity lol! - you should try the Slide from Grace by John McSherry - an equally awesome tune. Would be good to collaborate on it if you like? I play low whistle
really helpful tutorial! great to discover you and your muisc, you have a lovely style, something for me to aspire to! Nice to have a female to aspire to..
Aww, thanks so much @nikkinomad! That means a lot to me, especially since I know how much I value the female fiddlers I grew up aspiring to be like! If you wanna see some AWESOME "girl power" fiddlers, check out my huge role models Liz Carroll, Bonnie Rideout, Natalie MacMaster, April Verch, and Eileen Ivers (to name a few)!
Zowie!!!
Haha...exactly my reaction when I first heard this tune, @Judith Montel! :)
great tune and playing think i prefer it not too fast
Great point, @David Hale -- slip jigs can be played in such a wide range of tempos! It's really fun to play around and find where you personally like each one sitting. I tend to like this one "on the clippier side"....I'd love to hear your more laid back tempo whenever we might cross paths in person! :) Happy fiddlin'!
@@mariblackmusic Next time your in the British isles kiddo. kind regards to you 😊
I'll take you up on that, @@davidhale1568 ! :)
