Thanks for the tip! I work with UI/UX and I always try to use that knowledge with what a customer would think but it's such a different realm that it's hard to know shopping habits. But I've found that a great thing to do is take trends from clothing brands. I've done minimalistic covers that take on a style similar to a huge brand that's pretty popular among kids and teens and they've been selling so well for back to school!! And no, not using logos or exact same fonts HAHA, please don't do that! So also research what brands people are into.. meaning what colors are in, how fonts are used, and other elements reminiscent of that brand.
The gift cards idea is fantastic. I can see this as a great niche that is open to hundreds of applications. You named some and I would add retirement. When I retired I received many cards congratulating me on my retirement. Some of those cards in the states cost $4.00. For a few dollars more someone could give a retirement notebook that is much more useful. As always your video is a masterpiece.

Planet earth has limitless opportunities as you said, but not trees. 35 years ago I printed my first business brochure on kenaf paper and later on I printed some Tshirts with marine based ink. May be we can hope Amazon will catch up one day. Nobody talks about ecological inks/paper anymore....

Part of my problem is that I currently work 60+ hrs a week in a factory so my free time is limited. But I am making the most of that free time watching videos like yours that are full of great info and researching and creating on canva. I don't have many books yet but the more I learn the more confident I'm feeling. Thank you for your videos and your honesty.

I've heard you talk about the gift card approach before, but I was confused, beacuse a gift card is a totally different thing to me. Now I realized you're talking about greeting cards, and it totally makes sense. I didn't know those are called gift cards too. It's a great idea. ☺️
There are many places that sell ready made interiors, i have a few links under my videos that might help. However, never publish them as they are without modifying them so that they are different to somebody else's book. If you buy ready made interiors without modifying them you run the risk of having the same book as somebody else and Amazon doesn't approve.

I'm not sure I understand your question correctly but the cover size has to be made in the size that KDP stipulates, you don't reduce it, you make it the right size when you design your cover. Or are you asking about the cover template?

Only if it is like a lined notebook or graph paper, not if it is a colouring book or something that needs to be unique. People could buy your book, and then buy one with a different cover and then be disappointed if it''s the same interior.

There are many places that sell ready made interiors, i have a few links under my videos that might help. However, never publish them as they are without modifying them so that they are different to somebody else's book. If you buy ready made interiors without modifying them you run the risk of having the same book as somebody else and Amazon doesn't approve.

You need to research each niche and find the keywords that you think are relevant to the niche.
