My 11 year old son always starts with BEANS and GHOUL. Today, he got ZEBRA with his third guess and was so disappointed that three guesses wasn't good enough to beat you today.
Brilliant solve. I was in trouble and barely made it: AROSE, THING, CLUMP, BREAD?, WEARY?, ZEBRA.
I had the same reaction getting this in 3 too. Cable, amber, zebra.
I tried to start with ORBIT and had a very similar thought process to you but it still took me 4 guesses in the end. ORBIT, AMBER, REBAR, ZEBRA.
I wonder if anyone can ever keep a zebra as a pet.

ZEBRA is the second ever Wordle Answer that starts with a Z. The first ever Wordle Answer was ZESTY. The truth is, ZESTY is the Wordle Answer for April 28, 2022. Crazy how after ZESTY, we had to wait...2 years+ for the next Z word.

My usual start left a lot of possibilities remaining, so I had to eliminate them each guess, but 6 guesses is understandable for a word like this.
I would've gotten it in less guess if I stanned Loona (also a joke by orbits to say something wouldn't have happened if someone stanned, which is another word for being a dedicated fan of, Loona. "Stan" itself is a noun and a verb referring to one who is a dedicated fan of or to be a dedicated fan of something/someone.) I find it funny how you've also brought kpop fans into the realm of these puzzles unintentionally, lol. Even though I'm not an orbit myself, the one Loona song I've listened to, Paint the Town, is good. They disbanded due to contract/monetary disputes with their entertainment company, but the members are in different, better companies now.

Today was a huge struggle.
After 2 guesses, I thought of 30 possible answers. The correct answer was NOT one of them.
I was mainly focused on 2 common traps: xAxER (20 words) and xREAx (8 words)
My 3rd (PAWER) and 4th (CREAM) guesses ruled out both traps and eliminated my entire list.
After 4 guesses, I had 3 letters (all yellow) and 2 possible locations for each letter.
After several agonizing moments, I finally found the only likely answer.
