Soundtrack of my youth 🎼🖤 1968 Wichita Kansas I was 19 and head over heels in love with Joe South. He is such a big part of my life... I miss you Joe. R.I.P Joseph Souter.
Joe South is one of the most unique. Entertainers that the American people. Need to understand and need to comprehend the reality of his words in his music. For this is a true human being
My favorite song cause I feel it so whole heartily is " don't it make you want to go home" cause those changes actually happened in my neighborhood that I grew up in! That song makes me cry till till this day! R.i.p.Joe South, love you always!
His songs certainly have just as much meaning today as they did all those years ago. With all of the hatred in the world today, "Walk a Mile In My Shoes" is soo relevant.
Never heard of this guy until I ran across his song today “Wanna Go Home”… blown away to find out he also wrote “Games People Play.” He’s clearly awake and enjoying the ride. ❤️ ✌🏼
I love this interview. Looked like he was having fun. I wish there were more interviews of Joe to watch. I love to listen to his deep smooth voice. 🥰😘❤
If anyone ever preaches about not judging a person until you've walked in their shoes, Joe South's Song Walk a mile in my shoes should be given as a prime example and it should be made required Listening In any such class.
🥀Amazing interview with Joe South he was brilliant so natural singer song writer talents beyond his own time. WGST was the way most people got started in the music industry. The Country music hall of fame and honor in Macon, Ga. Him and my Dad were friends in music. I love Joe South🥀🕊🥀☝️

Thank you for being a really terrific musician and song writer and singer. You are still very inspiring still to this day. You were also so very adorable.
In Dec.1969,I was 12,lived in Tokyo,Japan.I saw Peggy March on TV.She is famous from I Will Follow Him and she sang Games People Play.It was the first time I listened to the song.
what a great guy to sing and do the things an individual can do---i love the lyrics of the songs and the melody and the voice kinda like good southern people--thats cool aint it?
Thank You so much for uploading this talk show segment of Joe South. I wondered what happened to him after the 1960's and his 'Games People Play' days of fame.
Did you know that Joe South showed some guitar work to Freddy Weller, then Freddy showed it to Mac Davis. Mac was having trouble trying to finish a song. Mac used that guitar work on "In The Ghetto". Listen to the guitar on that tune and Joe's song "Children". Same guitar work, just a little different speed. I read this and I listened, they are the same. Joe was such a talented man.
I agree with all the comments considering his massive talent. Writing, singing, musician Etc. Didn’t know he was so funny. He played on a lot albums also. Loved his song Hush on a Deep Purple albums back in the day.
The most commercially successful composition of Joe's was "Rose Garden" - by Lynn Anderson. Her recording was No.1 in 16 countries around the world. Unreal
Great upload Joe!! Thank you very much... Do you know the exact date? I never understood why he wasn´t performing alive all those years... He doesn´t seem THAT shy... A Pretty shame
Joe wrote the song Hush. Billy Joe Royal sang it first, then Joe put it out on his album. Then Deep Purple heard somebody sing it in a club and they liked it and recorded it.
This guy was SO talented and So under-rated. He should have been huge.
As a song writer and producer he was huge. Not as well known as a performer but he was very capable at that too.
Yes, Joe is most definitely a wonderful legend.
He was a big deal in sixty nine, I was there!
What a wonderful man too! He’s a legend to me!
Walk A Mile In My Shoes. That song changed my life 50 years ago... Thanks, Joe ♥️

A tremendous artist. From the UK.
He was a brilliant songwriter
What a Character !!!😂😂😂
What an incredibly cool speaking voice. Immense talent.
He has so many great songs.
Very underrated.
Joe's guitar work especially the intro on Aretha Franklin's Chain of Fools, next to Aretha herself, made that song.
