So how it works is metal strips hang from a ballon in the air and as enemy planes run through the strips unsuspectingly, they metal strips(almost invisible to the pilot(s)) the planes wing get ripped apart and ultimately crashing it.

That means the group of enemies brought with them a tank , when the tank shoot , the tank shell causing alot of damage to the vehicle , the tank shell went in the vehicle hitting the engine killing the vehicle and the other shell hit the front grill and completely destroying the engine compartments. and got left behind with the dead driver The Ace goal : get revenge if he see's you he will think you are one of his enemies that killed him.
To those who are either, watching this for the first time or have watched this multiple times, what is your favorite ghost vehicle? Mine was the “1981 Atmos LSR”.

I don't know if these ghost cars have a backstory but I think the big plane and the little plane started it. Think about it the Perent has a big hole in the back of the camper and the glowy stuff probably fell on it. Then the plane kept doing that to the other veichle's.
I think I know why they are ghost cars, because the people or the drivers died in an accident and will forever haunt their car. Well Camodo already explained this in the end of the episode kinda.
