I have enjoyed all the past videos you have created, and I always look forward to your latest release. If you come across any old photos of the 'Clergy Retreat' next to St Mungo's Church in Parson St, Townhead, I would love to see.
'Every picture tells a story.' The picture that stands out for me in this collection is the City Chambers work room at 1320. Those poor young women! What a drab and soulless existence they must have endured in their daily working lives. Were they allowed any social interaction? Was there ever even a bunch of flowers to brighten up the bleak room in which they laboured? Had they failed to find a husband and were they obliged to survive on their own, becoming in due course elderly spinsters? It does seems a very sad photo.
More great photographs of Glasgow keeping the memories alive, brilliant as usual Glasgow photographs.. keep the memories flowing..👍👍👏👏👏
Thank you once again.
Thanks again Colin. I love the night time photo of a rainy Saint Enoch square. It pretty much sums up my memories of Glasgow back in the 1960's.
Thank you, that photograph really captures the spirit of Glasgow in the 60s.
