The lockdown changed everything. People’s priorities changed when they were forced to live differently. Mostly people figured out how poorly they’re treated as workers in this country. Rich CEOs getting wealthier every year while crapping on the employees. This has been accepted because people thought they couldn’t make it, but now with a different perspective it’s the employers that must change because they can’t make it

    • @jason9035
      @jason9035 2 года назад +6

Companies can't pay a "living wage " to every employee.
Some jobs are "entry level" that used to be for young people looking for their first job, or for low skill people.
Now if the job is a skilled position and the applicant has the skills and experience and shows that they'd be an asset to the company then yes a living wage is fair.
A "living wage" is ludicrous for a job at the golden arches manning the fry basket, or the shelf stocker at a big box store.

@@jason9035 no companies can't unless the executives stop taking home millions a year, literally laid off airline workers despite still making millions... minimum wage doesn't allow people to live and whether it's a entry level job or not ppl should be pajd enough to live. they aren't bc ppl at the top are greedy they "need" 3 houses and 10 cars and that vacation on the Mediterranean. No one needs millions a year but a thousand more a month would change a lot of people's lives. How can anyone judge someone who doesn't advance past a stocker or fastfood worker- there's some reason why and that doesn't mean they should be penalized for the circumstances they faced. House payments or rent should be a 1/3 of the income that's impossible with minimum wage and whenever it's raised the cost of living raises so that way the ones at the top don't give up anything and in return those at the bottom gain nothing. If you work 40 hrs a week you shouldn't worry about whether you aren't gonna pay the electric bill or eat for the next week point blank end of story because without those stockers and "entry level" workers basic business would fall apart

@@alexrusso6503 Your are correct. And those who do take in millions, or more, seem zero concerned about building for the respective facets of service industry. Plus the jobs can be absolutely stressful. There is not enough room for everyone to constantly climb the ladder of society nor do all want to put up with the political, social structure, the ignorance within, to constantly “move up.” Also not moving towards an evolved system, constantly believing “this one works” is destructive. There are methods to simplify. We have the capability. But we are stuck in ways. Like choosing to be a three year old your entire life.

The issue with that is how regulated truck driving is combined with how terrible of a job it is. Pay them more. Ok let's use an example. You currently go to a fast food place to grab some lunch, a burger combo fries and a drink let's say it costs $5.
Ok so they take your advice and pay the employees more. So now your burger combo is 9-10 dollars instead of 5.
Well now you have to pay more for the same lunch but you aren't getting paid more.
      It's a vicious cycle.
Companies can pay more when the employee earns it through hard work and dedication.

There should have been an industry group or government agency screaming the sky is falling years ago, before the sky fell. This will become much worse without bold and extreme action and cooperation.
At this point I only see one solution, and it would be a cure worse than the problem:
A national effort to tell everyone in the US to severely minimize all but the most essential purchases.
The second step is to have Congress pass a massive spending bill and use eminent domain crafted to minimize delay tactics and prioritize getting money out and land for ports to expand or new facilities added. This would also include the water side dredging and work necessary to bring the ports online. Rail and Interstate spurs need to be brought into the ports. Right now not a single US port can accept the biggest ships. That needs to change. We need to slow the demand for inbound traffic and increase port capacity substantially before allowing normal consumer spending to return.
It has been known for decades that we were importing everything. The concept of the container and the movement of containers was created in the US. This should have been known and dealt with long ago. Now we are in a position that fixing the problem is not a realistic option.
All of these ships stuck in the US loop are also reducing capacity for the rest of the world. The consequences have barely started to appear.

The real problem is the paperwork game at the point where it's doing that. There is no truck shortage There is no worker shortage This is all being manufactured by the democrats and the unions that control the ports they wanna to drive up the cost so they can push driveless trucks Is they're pushing to eliminate jobs I suggest stop using South check outs or places where have places where you automated ordering devices don't use those You're pushing for more automation which is bad Which is killing jobs And it doesn't help when States start mandating tolls for trucks that haul over 80000 pounds Get charged by the mile they drive-in the state Patrol increase cost of goods This was all planned by the democrats socialist the green party democrats liberals Feminist Moderate And other people tied to these groups This is just another place that they can make us a one world nation Whether United Nations dictates whatever what everything that everyone can do Our freedoms are under attack Hair pretty soon you will no longer be free In the Constitution for which we stand for will no longer be Cause they're gonna put it through the shredder Sad but true.

INFRASTRUCTURE! What is the problem USA has with this word?. Why are key workers like lorry divers on ridiculous pay -, low pay paid per load delivered? The favourite word in USA is "greed" New warehouses are being built for future but shortage of lorry drivers and delay at ports expose USA as a "car crash waiting to happen!. N B stacks of empy containers in ports no exports to use them!. Look at new container" offshore" ports where biggest containers unloaded and loaded within one day - huge infrastructure and open. 24/ and new highways to service these new facilities!. China and Asia are turning this this shipping crisis to increase usage of "Belt and Road initiative" and create new Asian markets!. USA will lose market share in future World Trade as "delivery" influences plans of Asian customers - failure to deliver is critical calculation for East and West!. Biden needs to spend his new funds earmarked "infrastructure" politics later - Chinese invasion with cars coming in 2022!
