Great video! Love 711L. That 711L adapter is awesome. It also accepts 1/4" square male (with ball detent), 1/4" hex male, and 1/4" square female. It's really a 3 in 1.

Didn't even realize it took 1/4 square female, thx man. Love it even more now.

its honestly just insane that the actual leatherman ratchet attachment is so unobtainable even though its supposedly still in production. Whats wrong with leatherman? And they keep discontinuing really nice tools.

These double ended bits fit in both the leatherman extender and the 711L bit drivers and are IMO better than the flat Leatherman(tm) bits.
"Double End Insert Bit Reload Set, 13 Piece" from Wiha
    \
Also that hole in the end of the bit driver from 711L is easily able to be clipped to your key ring using a "nite ize" G clips (the smallest one, )
    \
For easy on and off the key ring without losing it.

All these 1/4" hex ratchet heads are made in the one Taiwanese factory, and seem to be ordered by name brands, with slightly different handles. I have a Topeak Rocket Ratchet bike tool from 20 years ago, same head, same functions. Wera's is uncannily similar (without the functionality of the handle-aligned bit receiver). I wonder why Leatherman keep on adding on removable tool options in separate pouches. It detracts from their portability.

"I wonder why Leatherman keep on adding on removable tool options in separate pouches. It detracts from their portability." Probably because the primary pliers in a leatherman are not very useful and so they have to add to and up sell their not very useful tool under the guise of building a "System". Someday men will figure this out and stop praising leatherman just because they spent too much money on a not so useful tool constructed from exotic materials like carbon fiber and titanium that makes them feel manly. Or not and they will be easily impressed with shiny objects that transform like transformers.

@@3vil3lvisLeatherman pliers are good for what they are. They used for emergencies. No one is using the screwdriver more than one screw, unless it's an emergency. It always makes sense to get a screwdriver. The pliers are excellent.

@zygmuntthecacaokakistocrat6589 I have both the Topeak ratchet and the 711L 1/4 ratchet for Leatherman and just compared them. You are correct they are remarkably similar and probably did come from the same factory.

Just found your channel.. great info! Will be going down a deep dive after work. Can you please help with a suggestion for an adapter to this to make it into a socket wrench and what soclet set do you suggest.. I'd be using it on a Charge Titanium and a Skeletool..already have the leatherman bit extender, just looking to turn it into a little socket wrench. Thanks in advance

I wasn’t aware of this company. Very cool item!
Does Leatherman not make the 1/4 ratcheting bit holder anymore? It seems like it’s been out-of-stock for a long time.

Missed opportunity to not offset the ratchet head so it could fold flat against the folded closed Leatherman for pocket carry.

711L makes high end tools but you don't have to pay boutique prices.
