    The macramé cord (3mm x 109 yards) that I used is no longer available but here is a similar version.

    Staggered Increase:
    Round 1: 6 single crochets
    Round 2: 2 single crochets in stitches 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (You should end up with 12 single crochets.)
    Round 3: 2 single crochets in stitches 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 (You should end up with 18 single crochets.)
    Round 4: 2 single crochets in stitches 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16 (You should end up with 24 single crochets.)
    Round 5: 2 single crochets in stitches 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24 (You should end up with 30 single crochets.)
    Round 6: 2 single crochets in stitches 3, 8, 13, 18, 23 28 (You should end up with 36 single crochets.)
    Round 7: 2 single crochets in stitches 1, 7, 13, 19, 25, 31 (You should end up with 42 single crochets.)
    Round 8: 2 single crochets in stitches 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 (You should end up with 48 single crochets.)
    Border: 48 slip stitches + 1 chain stitch to end it

    And I thought you were going to connect both round pieces at the end with a beautiful stitch to make it a very thick trivet that will protect a table from hot pans. I think you could’ve ended that way. But anyway, great video and very good tutorial. 👏👏👍👍

    I just made the first 5 rows and finished it off with the slip stitch to make it as a coaster 🤩

    so - when you get to the end of the row, you do NOT join w/slip stitch?

      Usually when u r doing single cr. U don't have to make a slip st. Rather u can continue making the single cr. To the next round and put a stich maker at the beginning of the row so that u will remember.

    Good pattern , it took me a few minutes to figure it out but I did. Your instructions aren’t real clear as to each stitch. If I were a beginner I would have a hard time getting it. But Im not so I got it, thank you.
