Trump cutting the unreimbursed work expenses really hurt us. My husband is a commercial roofer who does travel for his company. He has to use his personal truck. He gets a truck allowance and only a percentage of major repairs . He put over $200k on his 2021 truck already. A transmission and a new motor he got less than 50% reimbursement. We live in Phoenix. His company gets roofs all over the US. They give him unlimited safety glasses and 3 yellow shirts. He goes to a different climate he has to buy his work attire. Gets really expensive! And almost doesn't seem worth it. But he loves roofing and kicks ass at it. He takes pride in his work. He doesn't get treated well but he keeps going every damn day.

There seems to be a direct correlation between people stopping working with their hands and starting sitting behind a desk and becoming more liberal. I own a roofing business in rural Pennsylvania, and this past administration has been a total net negative for us. Prices are still going up, but the economy is bad enough that people are willing to spend less. Your answers all sound good about tariffs, but tariffs are also meant to put more money into people's pockets by saving on taxation. Please just explain to me how the economy being better isn't a net positive for contractors?
You did an excellent job on this video Dimitri, I wanted to watch it before I commented, I agree with all of it. There's also an additional thing, one of the main reasons I voted for Harris is because of the impact on interest rates. The mortgage rate has a huge impact on this market. All across construction. Her economic plan is roughly half the deficit spending of Trump's. That's better for bond yields. You also have more of a targeted tariff approach rather than broad sweeping ones, this is better for inflation. We all know that if you put a 20% tariff on a $1 item it becomes $1.20. if American businesses are going to compete not only will it take them time but they are not going to sell it for a dollar. They are going to compete at $1.20 so the inflation will be here. I make less than 400K a year so I get the benefits of the tax cuts from her along with more stable economic policy
Mortgage rates are not determined by the president. The treasury is a separate body and makes economic decisions on their own. The fed funds rate is determined by the treasury and directly impacts rates on everything, including mortgages.
@jeremiahferguson9694 Think this out. When the administration is running up deficits, they have to sell more treasuries to fund them. As you start dumping treasuries buying demand, unless it keeps pace, requires rates to rise, you can back test this for decades. The other thing you have are the tariffs. That is a sales tax nationally on every imported item which is a lot of what people buy. That's inflationary, inflationary also pushes higher rates. Why did the Fed go from basically zero to five and a half percent? Inflation was picking up the past few years right. So if you institute all of these inflationary policies, what's going to happen? So you can argue neither candidate is ideal but you have a choice of money going to the working class with less deficit spending or money going to the rich with more deficit spending along with an unknown variable of how bad those tariffs would be for all of the things we buy.
I ask one logical question. Would you rather hire an experienced roofer or a roofer who does the bare minimum but charges the exact same but lower quality?
As a Canadian I watch the tariffs but better quality materials made in Canada and the USA , so it’s a catch20, I want a customer that wants quality materials and labour

Thank you for your videos full of priceless content. May God bless you and this beautiful Country.
Thank you very much!
Walz changing MN classification to W2 from 1099 is bullshit....You should do a video on that townhome complex in Otsego and Gasson property management
Thanks for the idea. I hate walz with passion
Smart for not seeing which party you will choose and you like better because, you can piss off half your audience one way or another
Trying our best
Has anyone here heard Harris say she would do any of this?
Of coarse, you thinking we making this up lol. It’s her policies and track record

Quick question. Why is this industry the only one that doesn’t give you a vehicle allowance?
A vote for Harris is another step towards socialism.
