  • Warraber in the central Torres Straits is a large coral cay island under threat from the rising sea levels and climate change.
Kabay Tamu, a Kulkalgal man, is one of eight Traditional Owners who lodged a complaint with the UN over the Australian Governments lack of action against Climate Change.
Rising sea levels, extreme weather and coastal erosion are amongst some of the issues affecting Warraber and the 16 other islands where Torres Strait Islanders have lived for generations.⁣
Join host Lille Madden, Arrente, Bundjalung, Kalkadoon conservation activist, as she yarns to Kabay about his fight to save his island.
Healing Country shares the grassroots initiatives, actions and change that young people are creating for their communities, culture, and Country.
