awesome video!! a couple months late, but here's some advice from someone who's been playing for 5 years (I am not a professional in any way possible lol) first and most important thing that every guitarist would tell you is to master the basics! focus on chords and hand dexterity by doing scales and practising different finger stretches. the most important thing is to get your fingers used to the chord shapes, so you'll be playing more comfortably. for the first 3 months or so, i treated my electric guitar exactly how i would treat my acoustic, and that really helped me get a better hang of the basic stuff before delving more into the advanced stuff. that being said, it doesn't necessarily mean you aren't allowed to practice riffs and other stuff, you should definitely practice and play your favourite songs, so as to not let your motivation die :) another thing is when you're using a pick, don't hold it too stiff and don't pluck the strings too hard. just let the pick glide thru the strings! patience and motivation are key, so keep finding new songs to practice, and have fun with it all. one thing that helped me progress is seeing other guitarists play and taking inspiration from them, anything from their playing technique to how their guitar looks! playing the guitar is a journey with its own ups and downs, don't be afraid to take a break when you feel like you need to, and get back to playing when you are ready! have fun, and good luck!
@@marvinthemaniac7698my friend i wait for 10 years.. when i was 14 i want a electric guitar from my family.. they did not buy it..but ten year after when i am 24 i buy a epiphone les paul for myself😂😂😂
Here is some advice that may help: Best clip on tuner for accuracy currently is the Ernie ball Flextune or a basic Snark. For string gauges you probably be looking around a 9 or 10 light set to start off. 10 is better for drop D tunings. For the guitar setup make sure to always lubricate the guitar nut with led from a pencil. You selected a great guitar for starting out, but look at getting some lemon oil or montys instrument food to condition the fretboard. Best way to learn is to start off with the pentatonic scales and major scale. To then get your fingers used to spreading across the frets before you begin full bard chords. Focus on the A, G, C, D, E based open chords. A good song to learn for using your thumb more to barre the thickest E string is Teneriffe Sea by Ed sheeran. Some other tools you may find helpful: Kieser Capo, Jim dunlop Stubby Plectrums and a guitar strap by levy for comfort.
A strat with humbuckers is a really good choice you've made! Make sure to keep your guitar well setup, with lower string height and proper intonation. It will be easy to play. You don't want to fight your guitar. Also stretch your fingers and arms before practicing. Along with your regular practice with scales and music theory, keep practicing how to play some songs/melodies by listening to it and playing by ear. Developing that skill is super helpful for playing along with music you've never heard before / improvising in the future. For example, you'll be able to do a basic version of what someone like TheDooo does, where you can instantly learn a song by listening to it. It will take time to develop though.
ok so i'm watching this rn bc i used to(??) want an eg for my birthday which is in 3 days, and lately i've js been losing interest in wanting to have one or js motivation to "play" even tho i don't have it yet, so i hope this will snap me back to the fighting cell in me that wants an eg n wil motivate me to play😭
@@TocaBlitz you got thiss- I personally definitely went through a few months of not really playing the guitar and I feel like I’ve definitely slowed down my learning phase because I do a lot with the horses as well but you definitely get moments of inspiration and what I found funny for me was I would have, nIl extensions and then I woild want to play guitar so then when i would get them off. I would go and play guitar immediately 😂
I love the format of the video! I wanna start learning guitar and I was searching for electric guitar unboxing but I wasnt looking for a video like this, but I still played and I really liked it , even tho this is not the content im used to watch. Keep It Up! +1 sub :D
hii I know I’m 1 month late but I REALLY recommend the fender Mustang LT25 amp, it’s very affordable and you can get lots of different effects, including distortion !!
Hey here is some advice if u want to learn a song called seven nation army these are the frets u need to play this all on the 2nd string 77 10 7 5 hopes this helps.
It's a fender squier. Probably around 100$ - 230$. Most places sell those. If you get one, I recommend buying one with a humbucker pickup in the bridge position. Google that and you'll know what I mean.
i got it at a local music shop, they ordered it for me and i payed around 120 euros for it :) i think they bought it through fender itself but they had dealer discount

I’m thinking about getting an electric guitar myself and i just wanted to ask what amplifier you use?
I use a bose concert style amp so it only gives me a clean tone- so i need to buy additional pedals if i want to add distortion etc etc
