- Epic day fishing the San Miguel River in Telluride, Colorado. Went looking for Rainbows and Cuts but was surprised with only Browns and Brookies. Filmed in August 2021.

Great video! This 3-mile stretch of the San Miguel lies between the western edge of the Town of Telluride and Hwy 145. There are often herds of elk on this flat valley floor that come down from the hills to the south. This part of the river is very accessible from Hwy 145 on the west (parking there) as well as several spots along the 145 spur connecting to Telluride, which it roughly parallels. Visit Telluride Outside in Telluride for gear and info.
Telluride valley looks great nymph and dry flies love the scenery! Thanks!
One day ima fly fish Colorado. It’s one of the top 5 states because of it’s incredibly beautiful visuals ⛰️
Awesome stuff! I live not far from here and haven’t ever tried that spot, looks like I need to! Thanks for sharing 👌
Totally! It’s funny, I was just watching some videos on your channel because I recently got an FJ and then I come here and see that you commented!
@@trout.addiction wow! Small world moment 😂 well my FJ definitely takes me where I need to go to go fishing! I recently did a trip all over the Telluride/Ouray/Silverton area fishing all over the place and it was a blast! The FJ has no issues on trails around there 👌
Great video mate!
Blue skies and bent rods 😍
Stream looks like its made for dry flies. Good video. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Great video... Idyllic stream. Did all the fish take the Royal Wulff?
Thanks! Nope, I switched out to a parachute Adams fairly early. I was having trouble seeing the royal wulff. I also got a few on an elk hair caddis.
@@trout.addiction sounds like things were 'looking up!"
;-)
the release on that first brown 🤣... love the view of the Telluride valley from that location
Definitely not my finest moment 😂
It should be forbidden to have so much fun ... haha ... great video!!!
0:42 Rainbows and cutthroats... nailed it.
What time of year do you recommend coming for a weekend of fishing?
July - mid October is usually the best window. It can get good as early as late June sometimes depending on the runoff.
