all of Isao's music, made it easy to visualize what the songs are about. whether it is Firebird, or Planets, or any of the others,,, you put on the album, and close your eyes --- you can't help but dream it into existence...
the Firebird, for me, is a huge Golden Eagle of flames. red, blue, pink and purple. ridding the world of the evil King Katschei, and ushering in the new leader...

I used to listen to tomita while reading science fiction when I was about 9 to 13 years old... this was the first album I heard. My uncle Pipo had no idea he would change the course of my life from that moment on... Forever grateful 🥲

We did the Firebird Ballet 🩰 in Iowa City in:1993,or possibly in 1994,I believe it was?It was done during that summer of that year. Thus, ushering in some ballet talent from other areas of Iowa as well.As far as listening to Isao Tomita goes,it was always ‘s in the afternoon’s with no work at the dance 💃 studio,so,I could indulge in my pleasure 😇 of listening to Tomita!I still have a few of his album’s to this day!He was discovered by my mom 👩 in 1982.Which,I believe, was in the spring or summer of that year? And,as alway’s it’s “happy days’listening to Isao Tomita!

Sometimes I think of this Igor Stravinsky piece as the most beautiful piece ever written (and Tomita does it well). (His "Le Sacre du Printemps" to me is the most cacophonous piece ever written. ) By the same composer.

...I used to consider this Tomita's most successful synth arrangement, but (mind is blank, sorry...)..."maybe" the thought was the idea of Asians taking "western" (well, Russian actually...which is potentially a little Asian) art music and reinventing it...no Austrian or English arseholes drooling over classical Greek and Roman statues...just total imagination without the need of objects or even a storyline...classical composers using texts of bad old "hubris" stories for inspiration; bad idea...Tomita sending their tunes into another dimension; good idea?...a fresh approach...but but (mind is blank, sorry...). Seriously, though, I do remember listening to this and Stravinsky's score back to back and preferring this. Not many times (hardly at all) can I say that of Tomita's things, except perhaps some of his Ravel and Prokofiev interpretations. Debussy? Holst? Nah. Leave them alone. Don't tamper. Tamper.

...He has mastered the score of Stravinsky note by note & interpreted it classically in 1976 with available electronics at that time - no one else has done anything like his interpretations since! - the drama & melancholy is 100% enhanced - brings it completely out to the forefront....
