  • Hey everyone. So I've been making videos for a while at this point, and there's a lot of older vids that I kinda just wanted to revisit and talk about. Either addressing comments, answering questions, or just talking about the state of the games industry since I last uploaded them.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy a long hour of me rambling about my old content.

When Hogwarts Legacy came out, I actually knew someone who asked me not to tell anyone they had bought it. And before playing it, they privately asked some of their gay friends for their blessing before doing so. It remains both the funniest and saddest thing I’ve ever seen

I fucking hate moral police brats. They feel like you have to give up something you enjoy and make them happy, meet their childish expectations. They deserve nothing.

    Hey man,
I just discoverd your channel about a week ago. I found your Halo 4 and Infinite retrospectives and watched through both of them. That led me to your Doom review and other recent content. So far, I have LOVED your work. I won't mince words. You tell it how it is. You do what a lot of bigger gaming content creators just won't do; be honest, be critical, and cover older games that set the groundwork for what we have today. You fill a very, very important niche, and don't let the algorithm try to tell you otherwise.

For the paranormal military shooter, I'd recommend Trepang2. Each mission has some sort of different paranormal tomfuckery, plus it's basically a spiritual successor to the F.E.A.R. franchise with its movement and time freeze ability, plus a couple of other features. If you haven't tried it already would recommend.

I think your way of thinking "oh someone else did already a video on this, why should anyone watch my video?" is wrong. I would like to watch your videos about these games. We are here to enjoy what you have to say about those games. Probably most of your viewers don't watch exactly the same youtubers you are watching. I don't know any of them. And even if there is a game covered by multiple people at the same time (like now selaco) I watch all of them. Just do what you wanna do, don't look left and right at others people content.
    Cheers mate

While I agree with you I can understand the mentality that some RUclipsrs want to make content that hasn’t been done before or a subject that is well talked about but have unique spin to it.

Killzone Mercenary is unironically one of the best games in the series and one of the best games on the Vita.
It even has more open level design compared to the console games.

I haven't played it since release but the most fun thing I remember from Condemned 2 was beating people over the head with a toilet seat in multiplayer, which is so hilariously far from what I enjoyed about the first game, gotta revisit them both one day myself

First off, love your vids man they're great, but I wanted to ask about some games that I've seen on steam that are old and kinda cool looking which I was wondering if you had played them or will talk about them, the games are one's I've been told about or found through a retro games steam curator like TRON 2.0, Loom, Jade empire, or nexagon deathmatch. It would be awesome if someone talked more about one of these games because they look really cool.

Nocturne is a good game in the vague "paramilitary force that goes up against supernatural spooky things" It's also set in the 1920s and has a bit of X-Files thrown in too. Really cool game.

Hey andy, glad to see another upload from you and a comprehensive recap on a lot of great videos
really looking forward to hearing your perspectives the rest of the halo franchise, you mentioned marathon as well when talking about bungie, those games would be great for a deep dive too, even if they are at their core doom clones.
I tried to reach out about a tool I have made to make playing ds fps games more convenient but never got a response, seeing as you mentioned dementium 2 and how you would likely play it on the DS, I figured I might mention it here, let me know if you are interested.
anyway, great video and looking forward to the next one.

Completely agree with your little rant. At this I am not sure how much it actually hurts video games as media. If anything it just seems to draw attention to it. And maybe create a group in the gaming community that overreact to this stuff, and maybe blame the wrong things. Feels like two wrongs to me. I think one of the bigger issues that hurts gaming is actually the preservation of games. Which is completely a different topic. I love video games, my favorite media. And I know how much work and talent goes into these games even bad ones. I know there's already some youtubers trying to get something going. This was a more interesting video than I originally thought it would be since I haven't watched a lot of your old videos.

You're really missing out on Lost Planet 2. It sucks that the only way to change the fov is cheat engine, which you have to repeat after every level change, and every time you zoom in or out, but otherwise it's a really cool game that encourages multiple playthroughs and just feels a million times better than the first. The first is so stiff in comparison. The ai improved a lot in the second as well. Not just in behaviour but the voice lines as well. Coming from the second game back to the first, you will notice how atrocious the ai in the first game are. The second game will ruin the first game.
Whatever you have to do to get this game working, it is absolutely worth it. There are solutions out there. Lots of them very short and sweet. Many of this game's issues with running on modern hardware are the same as Fallout 3 so it's all been worked out. The multiplayer of 2 was a bit silly. It's not a surprise that people prefer the first one for that since it was a million times more balanced. But you're outta your mind if you think the first one has a better campaign.

I see no harm in covering the same content as creators you admire. I've been following both Sight Avery and Tetramoore's longform coverage of the Kingdom Hearts games. Despite having a similar format they're both engaging listens for different reasons due to the angle they go at critiquing them.
Also, dunking on Alex Kurtzman shouldn't be controversial, it's like dunking on Michael Bay or JJ Abrams

While Sseth has done a video on it..
    Space Station 13.
More specifically *Colonial Marines* because I haven’t seen anyone fully talk about CMSS13 quite like Sseth did for regular SS13.
Could be cool. Either that or Fallout Tactics.. that game doesn’t get enough attention outside of pointing out that it isn’t BOS.

Considering your talk of going back to old Halo games, especially Halo CE, what irony that today it's been reported that 343 is supposedly working on a Halo CE remaster. Considering the aesthetic of the OG Halo CE Anniversary a second remaster would actually be appreciated, although I figured they'd make Halo 3 Anniversary first as a sort of way to regain fan support/clout.
Talking about games of the decade, for the 2010s I gotta agree with Doom 2016. It had been a long time since I had played a game that FUN! For the 2020s Metroid Dread is easily my pick. Metroid is my favorite series and Dread was first listed back in 2006 as a DS game but got quietly canceled and was just rumor for years. The fact that Dread finally came out and progressed the Metroid storyline after nearly 19 years makes it the Half Life 3 of Nintendo and my game of the decade for sure.
As someone who's only completed the singleplayer and barely touched any multiplayer I completely agree with your assessment of Prime Hunters. The atmosphere, lore and exploration are the best the game has going for it until you face the same robot drones or the Guardians for the 20th time. For example, the second half of Vesper Defense Outpost has some legitimately creepy music, sort of gave me the Flood from Halo vibes. The first big room is in ruins with plenty of broken glass and machines, Samus having to navigate her way through to unlock the door to the next room. Once you do this the tension is immediately broken by the fact that you fight a group of Guardians. Again. The only new upgrades you get are the same Affinity Weapons that the other hunters have, said hunters not doing anything in the story. You're first fight with each hunter is a unique encounter but after that they occasionally show up with reduced health to be a minor annoyance at best. To add insult to injury, once you gain access to the final area they unleash the final boss, stand around and get one shot like a bunch of chumps. Yawn. The multiplayer experience with each hunter is something else entirely but as far as what actually happens in the story it leaves a lot to be desired. The biggest sore spot is the controls, you either outright hated them at worst or tolerated them at best. There's so much cool stuff and missed potential in Prime Hunters I feel like it needs a remake so it's no longer held back by the hardware among other things.

Speaking of media and Clutch. Zero journalistic coverage of situation. None. Not a single damn magazine was like "hey guys, bunch of weirdos trying to censor this game, just like it was with GTA".
And what we have now? Every press outlet swallowing their tongues as soon, as it slightly uncomforting to cover something.
