    ■ TANZANIA, TANGANYIKA: Since the Masai tribes of Tanganyika sustain themselves on a diet based on Ugali (maize) and plants, a proper BBQ is an occasion to truly treasure. So when a goat or cow is indeed slaughtered, no part of the animal goes to waste.
After purchasing a goat in the tribal market yesterday, for the sole purpose of giving the whole tribe which have shown me such great hospitality a protein filled BBQ day out in the sun, we ventured out into the forest to begin preparations for the feast.
What ensued was 8 hours of non-stop Masai style cooking and eating. Several dishes and medicinal soups were cooked and devoured today. The exact names of the many different Masai dishes made are:

Harald, you have moved way beyond just a RUclips vlogger. You are now a documentary film maker. I have not seen anything on RUclips that is of this quality. You have moved further than just concentrating on the buildings and food in a country, and are going indepth to getting to know the people who inhabit that land. Through your filming I now feel that I sort of know these Maasai people - and I care about who they are and how they are and what their story is. That is the true heart of film making. I also want to say that the quality of the film is likewise wonderful, given what circumstances you are working under. Never think for a moment that you aren't contributing to this world. You have opened up these people and their world like nobody else has. I so much look forward to your vlogs and feel disappointed if one doesn't arrive! Keep up the excellent work! As others have said, you truly deserve some sort of award for this!

I make it my business to be none of those things in my life and I have always loved to travel and been like that with everyone I met on the way, as they often were with me. I think you'd be surprised to learn how decent fellow humans really are when they are not on this virtual world being full of shit and self interest. My travelling days were pretty internet and I would've been utterly shocked to ever hear such a comment or attitude as your comment is proclaiming and yet I see where you are coming from, todays world can definitely present itself in this way but honestly my friend, we can ALL do what Harald is doing, I don't mean the filming etc, not everyone is technical but I am talking about the way he is with the traveling and meeting people and experiencing different cultures and ways of living. We can all do this. just peel back the thinnest veneer of your own country men, your own people and you will be shocked to discover that, actually, they are generous, interesting, kind, not quite as selfish as they seemed, thankful, grateful and all of those other terms you would never associate with them if I asked you right now.
When you travel you live a different you, a better you. But what is often overlooked is that you also meet a better person on the other side of the coin. The people who meet a traveler looking to experience culture, adventure, and anything a traveler seeks i# so often met with people who push themselves right into that role. They want to help, they want to give you a good experience, of them, their culture and their town...especially their food and drink!
So often both parties come away having had a very interesting and fun learning experience.

There is a reason why this channel isn't one of the biggest on RUclips... Today's society is so fucked up, people are gravitating towards fake RUclips characters and fake news, fake people like "influencers" etc. Harald's vlogs are so pure and sincere, and really show that we can all connect no matter what!! Because we are all the same (well sincere ones)

@Ubiquitous Philanthropist Don't worry, its not a dumb question.
There are those who live the traditional life like this, then there are those who are living modern lives in the cities. Whichever life one chooses is dependent on access to opportunities sucha s finances, education, etc. But the traditional Maasai are very happy living their traditional lives so they don't really feel like they're missing out on anything.
