I'm following along, and I was wondering how I could have a slightly higher sidewalk mesh along with the roads and building meshes. I was trying to have the sidewalk just a bit taller than the roads and connect seamlessly with the buildings, but I've yet to figure out a way to do so. Genius idea with all of this, and I'm looking forward to seeing more. :)
My random per island isn't functioning properly with the geometry node... It's all either black or white, it doesn't differentiate between any of the buildings. Anyone know why? Edit: found another comment with the same problem, you have to be in rendered view
question, I love your work and how crazy amazing everything is, do you have any tutorials on how to make this. If you don't have a tutorial you should consider making one or an online course on how to make this like on Udemy and charge it for maybe more because this is worth the money. I am really interested in Cyberpunk and I love this one that you made and can't find any that are as great as yours. I know your selling the Procedural city but I wanna know how to actually make it. I'd buy an online course from you on this if you go in detail from scratch on how you created this. I'm trying to get back into blender myself and can't find very good cyberpunk models till I stumbled on this. I'd pay for your procedural city that your selling right now but i'd buy it if i was able to create it myself cuz it feels better knowing how it's done and doing it myself. Anyway keep up the great work!
help. my textures arent changing randomly..its not even changing..after i cross the black n white from each other, the image changes but doesnt get randomized and mixed instead apllies the other image everywhere
I bought it. The roads are just flat planes with videos for textures, with no crosswalks or anything linking them together. The buildings are fine, but they're not PBR. It's just textures with emission textures. Still, not bad. Great for shots in the distance. Not so great for close ups.
Hello brother.....I am Christopher jones. I love & studying this universe since my teenage. And i want to direct one sci-fi movie based on our universe. I have one good movie script with screenplay & dialogues. Shall we join together and make one movie?
Is there a way to separate road from the buildings for texturing? I'm a noob and the only way I can think of is duplicating the object and removing the buildings but I'm sure there's an easier/non-destructive way... I'm just not sure how to Google it 😅 Edit/ I understand how in this tutorial there is already a node for separation which we use generate both the buildings and the street, I guess my concern derives from separating the materials but I guess I could use a separate material and a mask (?)
I recreated everything from your tutorial in Blender when it comes to texturing the facade of the buildings. But when I move the Color Ramp slider nothing happens except that I can either apply one texture or the other one, but not two different ones at the same time :S Has anyone made the same experience? And would you or someone else mind to look at my blend file when I send it to see what I did wrong?
@@cinematiccookie Omg,I feel kinda embarrassed 😆 I tried changing every single parameter in the Shader Editor, but I didn't realize that I had Cycles turned on but wasn't in rendered view 😅 Thanks for the hint! 😃

I called this geometry nodes engineer, how can you remember all the nodes? 😲
Practice
10:14 saving where I left off
I wish i could afford the city plugin, its so good
You can find free ones I believe, you can also find tutorials on making a procedural building generator

Can someone pls help me? The extrude meshes aren't working, so I can't extrude the roads or build the skyscrapers.

I have the same problem, have you already foud any solution?
no thanks why would anyone subject themselves to stuff like this just for renders
wow amazing tutorial, i like 😁😁
Can I export this to Godot and wake around in it?
can anybody send me their finished blend file?
I suspect that in the texturing section. The geometry node and the color ramp no longer work. I'm using Blender 4.0 and it does nothing.
yh dpesnt work for me
what to do pls help

Yes, this is intended for large shots, not close-ups. But creating a city of this size with this kind of detail would not work performance-wise.
@@cinematiccookie
It would if you enabled culling. :p
mind if i ask how you added texture to the roads? did you also used the geometry node or is there something i am missing?
I used the technique from this tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/MHWjhIr50f0/видео.html&ab_channel=CartesianCaramel
can you make dune type city ?
Is there a possibility about a student discount for the add-on? (:
hi the color ramp isnt working the other texture isnt being added why

@cinematiccookie How do you get the lights on buildings to work in eevee? I'm having the same problem as
@neoux
not sure exactly what u mean but maybe put bloom on

I think there's a 'set material' node in geometry nodes
you should be able to select specific materials for specific elements using that

what the hell. jesus christ. this is insane

The Random per Island output does not work in eevee I think. Maybe that's the problem

Hi, im having an issue at 10:42, the textures are only going on the roof side for some reason
Same, but i fixed it playing with the rotation

does anyone have any clue at 9:29? i only see gray when i apply Pricipled BSDF in Shader View... im using Blender 4.0
This video is from blender 3.6 tho.

You might be using the wrong material, click the drop down arrow(near material) and select the right material
Can this addon be used commercially?
Yes

Thank you. It works in Blender 3.6
@@cinematiccookiedoes it work with blender 4.1 ?
Thank you 😊
Does this not work well with eevee?
Yes, it works with Eevee. Of course with its limitations when it comes to realism.
@@cinematiccookie When I switch to eevee, all the window lights seem to disappear. Even with bloom on.
