i cant possibly express the joy i have at this 1 v 1 alternate strat / tower rush / fun games. so so unbelievably entertaining :) I love the legendary / epic games as well where the micro is crazy and its a battle of who can outplay the other too! But these condensed fun strat games just really do it for me. Thanks grubby
After rewatching it enough times to brainwash a clock worker, I have found that, indeed, I cannot see the fog of war being removed for that split micro second
The amount of patience and ability to remain calm in matches as wild as this one is so impressive to me. I couldn’t see it happening when you got caught early and once he had bears. What an awesome game haha
He did a lot of things right. Scouting, Beastmaster, archers, bears. Going to Grubby's base could have worked, but it's risky, since if they are able to defend, you most likely lose the game right there. I think he went wrong by overcommitting to those initial towers. Losing those early archers was hugely detrimental, and he used up a lot of his moonjuice as well

Since opponent made it to Tier 3 for a while, I wonder if Mountain Giants with Hardened Skin would have been the way to go -- highly resistant to both Demolisher and Watch Tower hits (especially the latter after getting the Hardened Skin upgrade), and War Club to smash Demolishers and especially Towers.
You can "chop" wood by ctrl+a-clicking a tree (attacking). They do not collect lumber then however. Also, if you only use ctrl+a, they also don't carry lumber on their shoulder. In this case, grubby had them collect lumber at least once (right-clicking) but ultimately forced them to attack the trees (ctrl+a). Maybe he also alternated between right-click and ctrl+a, don't know if this cuts off the animation and you spare a couple of micro seconds every time they chop on a tree.
