It was meant for people who want to take a long visit and earn some money while here. People who want to be here on vacation of sorts not to send money to a family back home and try to get permanent residence . The problem is too many were given out and the incentives for company’s to favor hiring tfws should never have been a thing

I've travelled to 36 countries an NONE of them let you apply for a work visa in country. Most countries were very difficult to get a work visa even from outside. The only one I got to work in was Australia because we also extend that program to them. Trudeau is literally trying to kill working class Canadians at this point.

Deport all the 'fake students' who tried to game the system and gain PR through the back door. Canada permanent residents must be qualified and Canada does not need immigrants without skills for work and good language skills. Most of the backlash is because of Indian students who are blatantly gaming the system, in many cases outright fraud has been committed with very dubious colleges and demands for full-time work permits.
The game is over. Go home and apply for PR as a legitimate resident of Canada. No more backdoor admission to Canada.

Imo I also think we should reclassify chronically unemployed people vs victims of a recession/poor economic management as those who have a strong work history but are now unemployed due to poor economic factors are a different thing. Exactly. This immigration policy is a strategy designed to keep low paid jobs, low paid. Unskilled workers often work extremely hard, in not very pleasant, labour intensive jobs. They deserve decent remuneration for their work. It also exploits skilled health care workers, by keeping their wages low too. This policy exploits immigrants, but it also exploits Canadians by making sure low paid jobs remain low paid. We also have to consider the foreign market for fake qualifications that allow immigrants to get into Canada.

My wife is from Africa and she’s been in Canada for 25 years. She’s worked at Costco with many Filipinos and found it very difficult as they do not wish to work as a team and they only want to speak their language which is very difficult for other people from different countries communicate with Most people move here from different countries like Africa, learning English. They don’t learn your Filipino language, so have respect at the workplace and be more inclusive. The Filipino Filipino community is burning bridges with people in Canada as you need to learn the language and you need to speak it at work, it’s very difficult to communicate as very unsafe

There is NOT ENOUGH housing for all those millions of people. Housing prices need to come down for Canadians. You cannot take in millions of people without having enough housing in place. The cost of a single family home or the rental price of an apartment are UNAFFORDABLE for Canadians. Perhaps the Philippine Embassy or consulate office should help those Filipinos who want to return to the Philippines with resources like plane tickets so they can leave as early as possible.

The cost of living crisis is now called cost of survival crisis for most Canadians. The crime rate has gone up to the roof. Canada is dying and they are still allowing 500k immigrants every year to the country.

    •  Месяц назад +2

Greed is the reason Canadians cannot afford to live in their own country, speculation in real estate drove up housing prices at a time when we were recovering from a major pandemic that caused so many small businesses to close indefinitely. Upper pay scale management has been awarding themselves massive increases in annual salaries' at the expense of the blue collar workers! Getting a 30% annual pay increase was almost common of CEO's, while after layoffs blue collar workers were being laid off and those lucky enough to still have a job received increases in the neighborhood of 3%! I expect to see unions striking en mass this year and likely for several years into the future fighting to regain a decent living.
The ones it has really hurt badly are the Seniors on fixed incomes who never had a company pension plan, yet they kept small businesses serving Canadians earning menial incomes compared to larger companies who offered multiple pension and matching fund benefits to their employees.

The issue of high unemployment, too many international students, and competition for jobs can be easily solved, as long as the Canadian government has the courage to implement a policy: International students should not be allowed to work during the school term, except for holidays, and during holidays, they should be limited to working no more than 20 hours per week. This would immediately resolve the problem. The key lies in whether the Canadian government truly intends to solve the issue or is merely engaging in political posturing!
