Great addition to the setup Mike! Very excited to see what you will create with it. I definately hope we get to see some footage from Chicago too. I can definately agree with that 70's look from what I've seen from the Pictor zooms, they are sorta similar to my Angeneux 25-250mm which I think is from around that time, I think a bit older maybe. But has a similar feel to it. Also I never noticed the poster for "a place to call his own" before but it looks super good!
Does this mean we will be seeing another cool video of Chicago? Probably not the wedding video, although I can imagine that being one of the best wedding videos ever made.
AYY DZO!!! it's a damn good zoom imo, not very sharp wide open and kinda bloomy, but if you like some subtle character it's definately very good, good ergonomics and mechanics. Also at least with my dragon 6k i have to crop down to 5k, does it full cover the epic mx?
Both would be good with a Super35 sensor, the Red 18-85 is sharper than the DZO wide open, but neither lens should be used on Dragon as its wider FOV than Super35
I work in social media currently but worked in the film industry in the camera dept for years in Chicago. No film industry in Denver so I had to pivot for now…
This is wonderful ❤❤

Nice man! I got the DZO Catta Zoom set!
Nice!
Wow would be interesting to see some demo with the zoom and the look of it.
Check out the video before this “parfocal bliss”. It’s my first test with the lens

Let’s hope I have the energy on my off days to make what I wanna make back home. Would be an emotional moment for me filming in the city again 🥹

Yes it does cover 5k FF 🤙🏻
Have you ever tried 18-85 red zoom? How would you compare it to DZO and 17-50mm mkii red pro zoom? Thanks

what do you do for work?
