      HI. Actually, it is not Gin & vermouth martini, another words, it's not Dry Martini with cucumber). This cocktail contains Vodka, sugar syrup, lime-lemon juice and cucumber. Here, word martini means kind of category of drinks, which is the same sours cocktails.

    Why isn’t the martini stirred ?

    • @Cognihaus
      @Cognihaus 6 лет назад +2

      Rey Hernandez Its hardly a martini at all, no dry vermouth or gin, so the ingredients’ taste isnt as “fragile”. Also he is cleary using lime or lemon juice, and you have to shake when adding a sour component.

    maybe a bit much on the shaking & dont touch the ice with your hands (when you drain before shaking) but nice video!

    • @tahnolikessharing
      @tahnolikessharing 6 лет назад +16

      Doesn't look like too much shaking to me. Only *he* knows the true dilution necessary because, as you can see, he's adding a touch more ingredients here and there without the jigger; plus, you don't know the sweetness and flavour of his non-labeled ingredients. So you can't really say it's too much without actually being there. Also, as far as touching the ice is concerned, I don't see a problem here either. Bartenders are expected to have clean hands just like a chef, and even without seeing them we trust chefs to only touch food when necessary; like checking for the rareness of a steak, or just generally handling food. So touching a bit ice for a second isn't a big deal at all.

    • @JayPattersonTV
      @JayPattersonTV 6 лет назад +5

      Honestly, I completely agree with the above comment. I’m a bartender in Canada, and bartending is really no different then working in a kitchen when it comes to food preparation standards. Any guest respecting bartender will be washing their hands almost constantly. A lot of the time, the chef preparing your food has touched it with bare hands at some point. This isn’t a worry for most people, knowing that the last thing a restaurant or bar wants is to make their guests sick. It is absolutely no different when working the wood. Health standards are tops for us, it’s no different then touching your garnish with our hands, you gonna complain that I touched your lime too? Your comments are quite unreasonable.

    • @smokehustler8360
      @smokehustler8360 6 лет назад +1

      muertalamuerte i always tell this to everyone that talks about touching “little” things with their bare hands, “since you are a great bartender and you don’t touch anything with your hands how do you do an orange twist for example?”

    • @lucasamios5278
      @lucasamios5278 6 лет назад +2

      Well i'm from New Zealand and in our words "harden up", he touches a bit of ice it's not a big deal. He's a professional, i'm sure his hands are well cleaned. Go Mr Tolmach I think you're an exceptional barman :D
