Pedagogical, yes. Dated, yes. Useful, yes. Speaker got both Chomsky and Turing wrong. Latter is not actually allied with behaviorism, which would make Turing like Wittgenstein. Former is not allied with Plato but rather closer to Aristotle, despite rationalism, and he's been recently mum about using "Cartesian" to refer to his linguistics, but not his epistemology.
