man oysterhead needs to make a new album. I love the grand pecking order. I can honestly say that there is not one bad song on there. they are all gems
I love how the music starts hitting you, and suddenly there's this huge breakdown and Stewart Copeland makes the beat his bitch. I absolutely love this.
I remember when I first saw this. I was 16, just starting to learn bass, and this came on the TV. I was glued to the screen. All my senses were overwhelmed. Then I discovered Primus. I've been a changed Bass Player ever since.
I have watched this video so many times this week. I've been on a major Oysterhead kick, and since they only made one album, it is pretty easy to listen to the same stuff over and over. Love it.
god oysterhead was amazing live i remember it to this day, still blows my mind that these three completely different musicians could come together and explode so hard
I always keep this in my head when I think it's time to end it all man - cuz there ain't no cure for suicide!- words to live by and never forget, no matter how bad it gets.
it doesn't get any better than this amazing group of musicians, beats the living crap out of the other recycled "super" group nonsense that's out there. PPP fans UNITE
The trifecta - the perfect three, Stu, Les, and Trey. Les - a known music god. Trey - a well trained musical genius. Stuart Copeland - Why didn't Sting set you free? In Quake terms... Godlike!!! I wonder what this would look like with Rick Wakeman on keyboards....
When there was, Les Claypool, Bucket Head, Brain and that other guy I forget his name, but back in those days of Primus that was probably the most amazing collaboration of musicians.
WTF? HOW IS THIS NOT ON DVD!?!?! They obviously had professional cameras covering the show., so why not dammit?! I love Oysterhead so much, I think this was easily Claypool's best project, possibly better than Primus (it's close). I really wish they would get back together.
those three put together had to have been the best idea since sliced bread.. oysterhead is monstrous!! some sick sick jammin.. i love trey's guitantler haha whens he gunna bust that out with phish?!
Dudes, Trey's guitar is ridiculous. His playing back then wasn't too shabby either. What an interesting period in rock history - that a group like Oysterhead found success, let alone existence, speaks to the weirdness of the times.
The whole "primus sucks!" thing is an inside joke. People who are hip to to the joke were most likely at a Primus show during the mid-90's. Actually it was Les who started this, he would try to get everyone to yell "primus sucks!" as loud as possible.
I love Stuart, but Tony Williams who started at the age of 17 with the second Miles Davis quintet is an absolute beast of a drummer. One of the best ever,.
great, great,GREAT song! couldnt find it anywhere had no cluse what it was called! looks like i know now :) when it comes to supergroups, im personally fond of Velvet Revolver (GnR members: Slash, Matt Sorum, Duff McKagan) (and vocalist: Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots = best band of all time!)
this show is from 10-31-01. I was really torn between seeing oysterhead, whom I saw the night before, or seeing Perry Ferrel DJ at a club down the street. I don't think that it was all of Janes Addiction, though.

Mr Popo approves
I agree !!!

How could 3 people search for this and not like it? Why look for it to begin with. This a combination of 3 of the best musicians ever.

I honestly can't think of any better collaboration of musicians....ever. They all blow minds to no end.
this is such a legendary lineup for a band
One of the best fucking concerts I've ever seen!! These guys and Them Crooked Vultures - 2 best supergroups in the last 20 years.
I have watched this video so many times this week. I've been on a major Oysterhead kick, and since they only made one album, it is pretty easy to listen to the same stuff over and over. Love it.

This song makes you smile.
Oh lordy this kicks so much ass
omg too much talent on one stage
There are only three people in this band? Sounds like there's EIGHT!
I always keep this in my head when I think it's time to end it all man - cuz there ain't no cure for suicide!- words to live by and never forget, no matter how bad it gets.
Stewart Copeland is insane.
just listened to this twice in a row! wow pressing play again.
sweet sunshine that was sick! epic trio!!!

That high pitched WHIIIIIINE, one of my favorite parts of seeing them live. Such a haunting motof
When there was, Les Claypool, Bucket Head, Brain and that other guy I forget his name, but back in those days of Primus that was probably the most amazing collaboration of musicians.

Must be nice for Stuart to play with a real Bass Player. That stings.

damn this is freakin great
OMG..... love Oysterhead :)
Holy fucking shit man !
who wants to see jane's addiction when you can see les pull some crazy ass bass tricks.......
Eric Avery is an excellent bassist, and Les would agree. The joke was that the music stylings were similar at a passing glance for confusion
les doesnt make bad music. ever. anyone who says differently doesnt know what music is
This kicks ass!!!!
I dont think they are humans.
It doesn't even look like Les is even trying.
thanks

Elvin Jones
as far as albums sold, and overall hits, when you talk about the GOAT supergroup, its Bad Co.
This is a good technique and self controlling supergroup, chops on top of chops everyone flows off each other
Poor Sue...
Oh Fuck Yea!
Chills!
where was this all them years ago
whiskey??? Palladium....
Phish will never suck. Primus will suck till we die.
This is sick
Such good shit
Trey is a rock star in this vid.

thats a mythic guitar !
Ooooyyyysttterhead, Fox yea
@josh10111000001010 doubtful. Primus just got back together and is currently working on a new album. Claypools got his hands full
Stewart Copeland sorta sounds like Mike Muir in this song. It made me realize i need a Infectious Grooves/Les Claypool mashup.
Hi Stephen!!
Les N Stewie= TWO GODS
There are 3 deities on that stage, my friend...
I had the opportune to play flanked by old STU & TREY!!!
that 1 person was Parry Ferrel...lol
Right now 3...
