As I live in Arunachal (northreast state of India) I noticed many of the tribes here born of sino-tibetan or tibeto-burma..... I didn't even realise that my sub-tribe of the bengali tribe (koch-ranjbongshi) also born from tibet yearrrss ago! Which I really didn't aware till I was researching of my sub-tribe in google!
Also I have seen many recent refugees here are really hardworking! And truely honest even I am a regular customer of small fast food shop owner is from tibet... I told him to set some cctv at shop as its really easy to rob while he is working and then where he explyme about karmas🙂... I am always amazed by their personality.
India is hugely diverse alreay! So I don't think that citizenship of tibetans should be a concern! Bcoz they are the person who can even change our society and hence together we can form a country! Welcome to India!

Tibetans are always welcome in India. I understand about your culture, but let me tell you, no one in India will destroy your culture.. but westernising is something that is universal in ASIA :)
You have to correctly pass the culture down to your younger generations. There are many Tibetan colonies, keep it as a sanctuary for the young ones to learn and practice ..like summer school. Who know one day Tibet may become free, and they your new generations should Not feel like foreigner there, of course the commies would have destroyed the building, houses.. and people who are stuck there, but not your culture.. if You keep it safe.
Tibetans are not the only one who took refuge here in India, many did and they still maintain their identity and none in India bother them, and they contribute to this country in their own way.
Everything has an Expiry date, I am sure Communism too has.

What are your thought on lets say, India sets a claim on all the areas of Tibet where the rivers flow into India? Would it be a more realistic chance of Tibetans being able to return to Tibet if the U-Tsang region itself becomes an Indian state. So this would include important cities along the Indus and Brahmaputra, including Nyingchi, Lhasa, Shannan and Shigatse. Because its highly unlikely China will give away the further eastern parts of Tibet where their own rivers begin, but they have less worry about the region where Indian rivers begin. This way, Tibetans who applied for Indian citizenship dont have to apply for a new citizenship either. China is bound to collapse in the next few decades due to their population collapse, but a small group of freedom fighters are still unlikely to get autonomy. Unless of course, you have India's direct military support and interest in the region.

war and occupation is not the solution but rather diplomacy and cooperation. What you propose likely would see border being pushed to U-Tsang from current Ladakh between India and China. Where Tibetans would be a collateral besides all the environment issue linked. This would not solve the border issue but rather escalate it even further as there are Tibetans living beyond U-Tsang if I am not wrong. Occupation which you bring here be it from India or China would be a big no-no. As the whole world is watching.
Having an independent, free and sovereign Tibet acting as a buffer zone would be at the interest of all parties here in my opinion, especially to India. With the Dalai Lama being growing up in India there will be a strong tendency to support India from the Tibetan mass as well. However with each year and no movement on this front especially with the Dalai Lama getting old the problems would likely explode where all would lose, inlcuding India and China firstly, then Asia and the larger world.

There aren't just some, I'm pretty sure majority of the Tibetans in exile wouldn't go back to Tibet if given the chance to should Tibet ever be hypothetically free. Whatever the sentimental reasons maybe, it just wouldn't be practical or viable, nor would it be desirable for many.

What you said makes sense. Chinese history records that Tibet was Chinese territory 800 years ago. It is too difficult to talk about independence now. With the help of the United States, the exiled Tibetans took away the treasures of Tibet and fled to India. They are still receiving salaries from the CIA. Emotionally speaking, Tibetans in China now have a strong sense of identity with China because they understand the history of "Tibetan serfs". Overseas Tibetans love Tibet, but they don't understand the history of Tibet. When overseas Tibetans shouted for a free Tibet, why were the 7.05 million Tibetans in China indifferent? The McMahon Line drawn by the British was taken seriously by India. Whose territory is that? If overseas Tibetans want to go home, they must understand the history of Tibet and must know that the southern Tibet and Ladakh regions are actually part of Tibet. The 14th Dalai Lama should also make the history of "serfs" public so that overseas Tibetans can know it, instead of smearing China all day long. As long as the 14th Dalai Lama admits his mistakes, recognizes history, and negotiates with China, I think there is still a possibility of returning to Tibet. After all, Tibetans all over the world speak the same language and dance the same folk dance. It is really good to be able to live together. China is also a diverse and inclusive country. But since overseas Tibetans do not understand the history of Tibet, how can they say that they truly love Tibet and truly want to return to Tibet?

once you get citizenship, you get connected to Central system of indian government opening many opportunities,,
anyways you already know cuz most tibetans are born in India, I would urge tibetans to avail citizenship benefits but keep doing what your original cause was

Tibetans are great people but they have failed to understand the fact that non-violence as a tool for freedom struggle has never reaped any success.
No amount of international support / representation on Multilateral platforms has benefitted them.
They will have to fight for their land.

India welcomed Tibetans as refugees and provided land for them to live on and if Tibetans wan Indian citizenship then it is understood that they have to give up the free land and work as a tax payer like every other Indian citizen. With this said, there are many Tibetans, Afghanistans and Nepalis come to India for citizenship with the aim to migrate to USA and Canada. So there are opportunists,
