The Faces! Back in the early seventies, when The Rolling Stones sang about the party, The Faces were the party! Legend was that when The Faces would get into town, they would get to the venue, do the soundcheck and then find the local bar, get drunk and then go play the show that night (usually getting there late)! The fantastic Rod Stewart singing, future Rolling Stone joker Ron Wood on guitar, the incomparable late great Ronnie Lane on bass, the superb Ian MacLagan on keyboards and drummer supremo Kenny Jones. Their music is so great, so soulful, so rockin'. Other songs of theirs that are worth checking out: Bad'n'Ruin, Three Button Hand Me Down, Had Me A Real Good Time, Cut Across Shorty, Richmond, You're So Rude, Ooh La La and Flying. This was when Rod Stewart was rocking, even early songs of his own worth listening to are: Maggie May, You're My Girl (I Don't Want To Discuss It), Every Picture Tells A Story and You Wear It Well.

With two great singers in the band, they picked Ron Wood, with all his vocal flaws, to sing the song. Rod Stewart and Faces did some great covers like "Losin' You" and "Get Back". Some of his slower stuff like "Maggie May", "You Wear It Well", "Mandolin Wind" and "Every Picture Tells a Story" are just as great though.
so in my day rod was a chick magnet (PC?) my girlfriends went to the concert in Detroit. Their report back was from the front row " he was drinking Jack straight from the bottle and half way through the concert went behind the speaker to puke came back and played the next song" that's word for word.
