I’m a 63 year old silver army and BTS has me fangirling and I haven’t done that since my mid teens. BTS is multitalented, multi genre and their discography has more than 300 songs. The members consists of 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. They write, compose and produce their music along with their in house writers and producers. Although they have the global success and money they are the nicest and humble human beings. In one of their interviews they were asked about their success and RM (leader of BTS) stated that 50% of their success goes to Army (BTS fan base), 5% to each members (35%) and 15% to their label. BTS and army have very strong and supportive relationship. They always thank army first for their achievements at award shows and they have over a thousand awards. They came from an independent almost bankrupted music label and made them the richest Korean music label in South Korea now with 9 music labels under their belt including 3 American music labels. Since June, 2022 they stopped doing group activities to do solo activities before going into the military for mandatory military service. 3 members are now in the military and the remaining 4 members will join by the end of this year and they will come back in June, 2025 and be BTS once more. I say this with strongest confidence that they will be bigger when they come back, as we, army, will be waiting for them with open arms and great love! I found them in May 2021 and became official ARMY a few months later. They are THE most talented group of artists I have ever witnessed, and they are hard-working (to their own detriment sometimes), and humble, and appreciative of their fan base and always thanking them. K-Pop is an industry, not a genre. BTS music covers quite a number of genres. If you really want to get to know them a bit more, watch Taylor Mari's introduction video (which was current through May 2022). A LOT has happened since May of 2022. I'll save all that for another day. Oh, I'm 66 year old ARMY in the USA. I wish I had found BTS since their beginning in 2013, but I've done a LOT of catching up and still haven't listened to all of their music. Enjoy the journey, if you so choose. Kpop is not a genre, is a industry. Bts do a lots of different genres but they always incorporate hip hop bc that’s their roots . Not all korean singers are kpop. Bts started as a hip hop group, then they enter to the kpop world and now they are beyond kpop bc they made it to mainstream and they have huge achievements that nobody in kpop has done before. They now are world wide. If you see a guide drone them you would understand. They have 6 #1 in hot 100 billboard and two members have now #1 in billboard this year. List goes on .

BTS ARMY is the fandom name. Black Swan is the song that got me to become BTS ARMY. Also, K-POP is more of an industry than a genre, it's the South Korean Idol system. It encompasses a lot of different genres. Also, you should turn on the closed captions, because BTS are all about their message, and they write, compose, and produce, most of their music. They also have an amazing production team.

do j-hope ‘more’ he’s one of the rappers in bts. also bts and nct are so different so i can’t really compare but give more nct songs a listen. personally if you don’t know their ‘sound,’ then it may be difficult to listen to at first but as you get to know them, you’ll start to vibe w their music.

Glad you enjoyed it! 😊 I've been a fan for just over two years now and my only regret is that I didn't find them sooner! You've probably already heard at least two of their English songs before. Dynamite and Butter are played everywhere it seems. A lot of people know the songs but didn't realize it was BTS. You might have also heard the third all English song, Permission to Dance, but it's a little more obscure. Those three are more like what most people expect Kpop to be, but I still like them. They're very catchy. I'm still finding songs to enjoy. Some new (to me) songs are Lie (Jimin solo), Boyz with Fun, Look Here, Just Dance (J-Hope solo), and I'm Fine. Some of my older favorites are No More Dreams (debut song), Run BTS (different than Run, which is an older song, but also good), DNA, Fake Love, Dope, Fire, and Save Me. Really I enjoy nearly all their songs. You will notice that their songs fall across many genres. It's even more varied with their solo careers. It probably already has been mentioned, but, if there isn't an official music video, usually we prefer to watch reactions to a live performance or a dance practice. There's also line distribution videos, but I think most people like those the least, unless it's combined with a live performance or dance practice. If lyrics are important to you, watching a line distribution before a live performance allows you to react to the lyrics first, then you can focus on the visuals in the live performance.

I am a big fan of the BTS Rap line. RM, SUGA aka AGUST D, and J HOPE. There is so much variety of genres if it's hip hop, Ballad, Latin Pop, edm, rap, pick your genre and they kill it.

Ok, so I suggest you check out the rappers next, there are 3 of them: RM, Suga, and J-Hope. RM is the lead rapper and overall leader of the group, he's the only one that can speak English fluenly. Suga also goes by Agust D when he does his solo music, and it's also kind of his alter ego name as well. J-Hope is not only a rapper but he's also the lead dancer of BTS. Here are some recommendations of some music videos/tracks you should listen to: Suga/Agust D: Daechwita, Haegeum, Amygdala (in that order, it's a trilogy and tells a story), Agust D (self titled track), and Give it to Me. All those have music videos, but also listen to the songs D-Day, Huh?!, and SDL, there's no music video for those ones, but they're really good. RM: Joke (watch the music video with the English translation!), Monster (no music video but really good), Do You, Persona (under BTS but it's solely him on the track), Still Life with Anderson Paak, Wildflower, and Closer (no music video) J-Hope: Arson, More, Airplane, On The Street with J Cole, Ego, 1 Verse, Base Line, and HangSang (the last 3 don't have music videos but they're really good). Also check out the tracks Ddaeng and Ugh! that the 3 of them did, and their Cyphers that they also did together too, there are 4 cyphers. I found them in May 2021 and became official ARMY a few months later. They are THE most talented group of artists I have ever witnessed, and they are hard-working (to their own detriment sometimes), and humble, and appreciative of their fan base and always thanking them. K-Pop is an industry, not a genre. BTS music covers quite a number of genres. If you really want to get to know them a bit more, watch Taylor Mari's introduction video (which was current through May 2022). A LOT has happened since May of 2022. I'll save all that for another day. Oh, I'm 66 year old ARMY in the USA. I wish I had found BTS since their beginning in 2013, but I've done a LOT of catching up and still haven't listened to all of their music. Enjoy the journey, if you so choose. Kpop is not a genre, is a industry. Bts do a lots of different genres but they always incorporate hip hop bc that’s their roots . Not all korean singers are kpop. Bts started as a hip hop group, then they enter to the kpop world and now they are beyond kpop bc they made it to mainstream and they have huge achievements that nobody in kpop has done before. They now are world wide. If you see a guide drone them you would understand. They have 6 #1 in hot 100 billboard and two members have now #1 in billboard this year. List goes on .

BTS ARMY is the fandom name. Black Swan is the song that got me to become BTS ARMY. Also, K-POP is more of an industry than a genre, it's the South Korean Idol system. It encompasses a lot of different genres. Also, you should turn on the closed captions, because BTS are all about their message, and they write, compose, and produce, most of their music. They also have an amazing production team.

Black Swan was filmed in the oldest theater in Los Angeles. Many of the BTS videos are filmed in LA and surrounding area. They also do some recording in LA. The company, Hybe just opened an office in LA due to the company expansion and purchase of American management agencies. This is one of my all time videos. The artistry is unparalleled.
You should watch a live performance of Black Swan - either LA or Las Vegas, Permission to Dance (PTD) would be great.

I think you will love "ON" Kinetic Manifesto Film MV which is like Drumline meets Stomp The Yard. They have over 300 songs with different genres including solo songs. You've probably already heard at least two of their English songs before. Dynamite and Butter are played everywhere it seems. A lot of people know the songs but didn't realize it was BTS. You might have also heard the third all English song, Permission to Dance, but it's a little more obscure. Those three are more like what most people expect Kpop to be, but I still like them. They're very catchy.
I'm still finding songs to enjoy. Some new (to me) songs are Lie (Jimin solo), Boyz with Fun, Look Here, Just Dance (J-Hope solo), and I'm Fine. Some of my older favorites are No More Dreams (debut song), Run BTS (different than Run, which is an older song, but also good), DNA, Fake Love, Dope, Fire, and Save Me. Really I enjoy nearly all their songs.
You will notice that their songs fall across many genres. It's even more varied with their solo careers. It probably already has been mentioned, but, if there isn't an official music video, usually we prefer to watch reactions to a live performance or a dance practice. There's also line distribution videos, but I think most people like those the least, unless it's combined with a live performance or dance practice. If lyrics are important to you, watching a line distribution before a live performance allows you to react to the lyrics first, then you can focus on the visuals in the live performance.

I am a big fan of the BTS Rap line. RM, SUGA aka AGUST D, and J HOPE. There is so much variety of genres if it's hip hop, Ballad, Latin Pop, edm, rap, pick your genre and they kill it.
Please check out all the BTS solos as well. All 7 members each have different styles, and it's amazing that all their different styles and talents mesh so well together to make the group BTS 💜💜💜
Since you seem to have fallen into the BTS rabbit hole, you will eventually need to get to know all the individual members. To do that you need to react to the 37min long Taylor's Guide to BTS. Don't worry about the length of the video....ARMY has watched the video countless times, but we always end up sitting through it with reactors. It's an addiction for us to watch people learning about BTS for the first time 😆. Then you will know what the purple hearts are about 💜💜💜
After more reactions you will eventually need to start reacting to their live shows. You will come to read the comment "BTS is SO MUCH BETTER LIVE!" again and again. It is inevitable. When you feel that are ready (with at least 20-30 songs under your belt) , please react to the 2019 MMAs (award show). The 2018 show is also great, but 2019 is the one to watch.

Ok, so I suggest you check out the rappers next, there are 3 of them: RM, Suga, and J-Hope. RM is the lead rapper and overall leader of the group, he's the only one that can speak English fluenly. Suga also goes by Agust D when he does his solo music, and it's also kind of his alter ego name as well. J-Hope is not only a rapper but he's also the lead dancer of BTS. Here are some recommendations of some music videos/tracks you should listen to:
Suga/Agust D: Daechwita, Haegeum, Amygdala (in that order, it's a trilogy and tells a story), Agust D (self titled track), and Give it to Me. All those have music videos, but also listen to the songs D-Day, Huh?!, and SDL, there's no music video for those ones, but they're really good.
RM: Joke (watch the music video with the English translation!), Monster (no music video but really good), Do You, Persona (under BTS but it's solely him on the track), Still Life with Anderson Paak, Wildflower, and Closer (no music video)
J-Hope: Arson, More, Airplane, On The Street with J Cole, Ego, 1 Verse, Base Line, and HangSang (the last 3 don't have music videos but they're really good).
Also check out the tracks Ddaeng and Ugh! that the 3 of them did, and their Cyphers that they also did together too, there are 4 cyphers. Cypher Pt. 3 is the favorite in the fandom but my favorite is Cypher Pt. 4. Hope you enjoy! 😊
