Watch Asleep At The Wheel live at Paste Studio ATL! More sessions and interviews here: www.pastemagazine.com/studio Audio: Chris Senador Video: Andrew Barkau
Ray is the Man, there has probably been 40 different Musicians in this band over the years, But it always sounds like Asleep at the Wheel, keep on keepin on Ray, Cousin Figel
Have to thank the boys at Past and Present Records in Watford for introducing me to Ray and the band. That was almost 50 years ago and, as you can see, they’re still going strong
One of the first albums I played at my first on-air radio gig was AATW. I was 18 yrs old that summer of 1985 and the band was 15 yrs old, loved them since way back then.
Just saw this - great interview, and as always fantastic music! I've met Ray, and he is a based and very good man. I've had the honor of seeing ASATW live a few times, and hope to see them again soon. HUGE fan since the 70s! (I saw this tour in NC btw. DAYUM that female fiddle player stirred met up lol)
@@SamuelLWayne Yep, have watched I think every vid that has her singing with AATW, she wasn't always with the band. She is especially good on " I guess I'll call it a day tonight " , and "It's all your fault ". She seems to really enjoy what she is doing and it's infectious.
Asleep at the Wheel...a national treasure...I remember two-stepping to their tunes at the Broken Spoke in Austin in the '70's.
The Wheel had them dancing on the tables at the Saddlehorn Saloon in Redding CA back in the 90s....I was there! 😎
Stay Strong Ray, we need you in the world! Look forward to brighter days

One of America's greatest bands. Decades of playing and bringing great music and positive vibes to audiences everywhere they go.

I saw the Montgomery concert they were plugging and I have no words. Incredibly awesome. The music I believe is the best ever.
Would never miss them in Iowa City at Gabe and Walkers during the 70's, Wow great music and memories!!!

I have a similar beard. Coincidentally, I too like to get my kicks, in rt 66.. It sounds more complete, in Texas swing.
