I was surprised by this. I went into it expecting a pile garbage, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. I agree that Straker was barely in it, I've not seen the original since the 80's, and I always remember James Mason scaring the crap out of me. It wasn't as scary as the original too. But overall it was an enjoyable watch for me.

It definitely surprised me to. I'm glad vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein films are blowing up again. Great time for horror

Wow that was extreme vs the rest of YT reviews. Good for you! I liked it and I was scared shytless with the original. Yes things are wrong with it, but I enjoyed it. Especially Pullman Jr. Nice to watch and the little kid kicked ass!

You're absolutely right. The 1979 original has more of a soap opera feel whereas this new one is more like a 80s/90s action movie in the same vein as The Lost Boys and Fright Night. There's rumour that the unedited, extended three hour version will be released in the near future. I'm guessing it will feature a lot more backstory with the Marsten House and Lewis Pullman's character. This was a great review!! 👍

I haven’t seen either one. Good to hear this one was better as I’ve heard a lot of negative reviews.

I agree fully relate to your review great review Norin. I have a question why is that the character Matthew Burke eyes glow? You see I haven’t read the original novels nor have I seen any of the adaptations of Salems lot. Hoping you share some knowledge. Nonetheless I had okay time with it got some enjoyment out of it so it’s 6/0 from me. Cheers Norin 🙂👍

Well I believe in the remake Barlow was trying to making Burke a familiar. In the book and original version he dies of a heart attack

@@norinradd8969 just confused really I heard the new remake was rushed in places like the run time says it was cut so it would make sense if there are some plot holes like they don’t explain if Burke is a supernatural or just vampire?

I’m not familiar with this property. I just heard it was a popular book about vampires.

The original mini series from 79 is very soap opera drama style but it has some cool effects. I'm just not that big a fan of the story. But this one is more my speed
