It’s nice how well recorded tracks come together for a mix. No fuss and comes together quickly.
Yes, they do. That's the magic of a console
That's gotta be the LinnDrum or some other Linn machine! That sound is unmistakable. :D Love your mix!
Thank you very much!
This is some of the best content on youtube. Really appreciate the stems, what a lovely gift. No idea how you managed to do that
Wow, thank you! I really appreciate your support
I remember this song well... memories! Another great video my brother I hope you're doing good! 🎶🎹🎸
Thank you kindly
I was at that New Haven show in 1983! I miss the Coliseum. So many great shows there.
I was sad to see the coliseum taken down years back. Lots of great memories
@@MixingMusicAnalog Saw my first show there in Aug. 82. Billy Squier opening for QUEEN!
@@MixingMusicAnalog My first show ever was Billy Squier and Queen at the coliseum in 1982.
thanks for the multi's
You bet
Yes! The classic of the classics! So many layers and every little nuance was well thought out. You did a fantastic job! It sounds like the album. This was a really cool experience, thank you!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for doing this Vid for us. Always love to hear & learn something new if I can. George :)
My pleasure!
Very fun. Sounds like this was recorded with a fair amount of compression going in. Especially in the vocals.
You're probably right
Great song and great mix Dave! I never even noticed the keyboard synth lines until now! 😆
I think those are the best part of the tune....groovey!
Very kool coach. Good work
Appreciate it!
This song brings back tons of memories. Lots of things going on that you don't realize are there. You did an awesome job. Actually like it more that the original. Not so over processed. Kudos. I learn something every time i watch one of these mixes!
Thank you so much!
Nice work 😎
Thanks ✌
This is so cool man... Thanks uncle Dave
You got it!!
Awesome. Those dry vocal tracks were pretty dull, the mix really brought them to life
Thanks James! The 80's were the good old days in rock!!
I was never a Def Leppard fan (more King Crimson) but this is a very interesting mix, and a lot less over produced, you have a deft touch Uncle David, thank you for sharing this!
Thanks for listening
YOU GOT A TAPE MACHINE!!!hehe...Did you record some drums?
Are these the actual tracks? I'm on the fence if it is or not?
And you don't look old enough to have gone to the concert in 83. Loved this record when it came out but a few months later I discovered punk rock
No , I did not get a tape machine...LOL...Thanks for the compliment. I actually just turned 54 a few weeks ago so I was a ripe 13 years old when i saw this concert.
@@MixingMusicAnalog I turn 57 this Saturday :(
LOL! I love the t-shirt pop up you geek!!!!
I have all of my concert t-shrits from back in the day
2:46 Great video as always! There you raised the line gain of that guitar right? Sounds so smooth in a console 👍
Yes! Thank you!
Uncle Dave!!!!!
Another great mix, congrats. Question.........What's your thoughts on the Galaxy 64?
So far, so good. It works great and sound just as good. I have only had it for about a month but I cant complain
Nice mix Dave 👍🏼
Wondering if you use a gate on the drums and if you do which one ?
Keep on rocking 🤟🏼
I typically use the Slate Digital GATE DRUMS and that always works well for me. One of these days I would like to try the Sonnox Drum Gate, but that is an expensive plugin.
@@MixingMusicAnalog try black salt audio silencer! amazing mix by the way every step is right :)
Dave...is that a Galaxy 64 in the rack?
Yes it is!
Nice video! Are you trying to mimic the original mix?
I'm not. Just doing a quick 30min balance for fun
@@MixingMusicAnalog Nice !!!
So just ran up on your channel ...but do you ever record anything , Drums , Keys etc? I see you got guitars hanging everywhere ... do you make music with all that stuff or just listen and turn knobs etc ??
just asking
I am just a mixing engineer. I don't do any recording here
Are these original multitracks?
I am not sure to be honest. These were available on the internet years ago, that's how I got them. My guess is that there were a lot more tracks in the orignal sessions but it was fun to mix anyway.
I think they definitely are legit. Many little bits that would be hard to reproduce.
Omg
Thanks for watching!
Big fan
Frenchie Smith
😂 👌🏻
It’s an honor to watch you work so hard
Very kind, thank you
