- Is this knife ready for WAR?!? Recently yall gave me some input on three different knife designs. This design was the clear winner! There were many facets of this knife build that were new to me including hollow grinding the bevels and grinding in the clip on the blade. Trying out new techniques in the art of knife making is what makes this craft fun! I hope yall enjoy the build; and if you have any questions please put them in the comments below.

Wow, you are a great presenter. All needed information is clearly and precisely vocalized while showing how to actually do it. It appears you are being spoken to by a Special Ops operator who is as calm as corn flakes and knows axactly what his plans are, improvising where necessary and again clearly explained! Congratulations on a great build and absolutely wonderful video....Thanks
Lol thanks man! #CalmAsCornFlakes over here!

I like the water bucket to cool the sparks from the grinding belt.
THanks!
Your videos are SO helpful for a new knife maker such as myself. I really appreciate your clear concise and detailed voice overs that follow along with your builds. The editing is spot on as well, please keep them coming. The knife turned out great, that bowie with a clip has to be my favorite blade design of all time, just such a classic undeniably good looking profile. Thanks!
Thank you greatly Jordan! Really happy you're enjoying the videos.

Neat job, James.
I'm always impressed at how sharp and crispy your lines and finishes are. Top notch!
Well done on not screwing up the hollow grinds, too!
If any knife has a beard, it's this one!
👊🏻👍🏻
Lol, thank you sir!
Oh man! Your art of making kinfe is absolutely outstanding! Really compliments!! Keep it up!

Thank you greatly Michael!
Great stuff! I'm getting ready to make my first knife, and have learned so many things from your videos to get me ready for it, I'm excited! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us so we can learn!
I'm at the tail end of my first knife and am loving it! I used Red Beard's "Your First Knife" knife template and it coming along very nicely. Good luck!
@@thehumblepundit9790 Nice! And thank you!
Awesome guys! Thank you!
I love all of your knife designs and this particular design is my overall favourite. I like the way you make knives and every detail of it. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Francisco! I like this one too!
Beautiful design. It turned out very well there. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Can't wait to see ur next videos and next blade. Forge On. Keep Making. God Bless.

Beautiful knife as always!
Thank you!
Super build! Good job with the hollow grind! I have been wanting to try sitting at the grinder but I just haven't felt comfortable trying it yet! Great work and great knife! A+
Thanks man! It's different for sure...
Excellent work! It looks great and as always this was super informative 👏👍
Thank you! Cheers!
I feel like the lines are actually very traditional and functional. This might be my favorite design of yours yet. Handle looks great too, total workhorse.
Thank you very much! I really like this one too
Awesome handle!! Nice work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice work 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Another great build, thanks!

Thanks James, as always, impressive and thoughtful, thorough in your process explanation and demonstration.
Glad it was helpful!
Outstanding work!
Much love from Switzerland
Thank you! Cheers!
The stonewash on the darkened surface looks so incredible. Putting this in the top 3 of all knife builds I've watched on YT.
Heck yeah Mitch! Thank you so much!
Wow! Wow! Wow! Absolutely magnificent!!
Beautiful!!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Gorgeous blade!
Thank you greatly Dan!
Great video as always, knife looks beautiful! And thanks for addressing my spine question! 🤜🤛
Cheers Tyler!
great video! Love the tactical but also rustic look of the blade. It's not just tactical matt black.
Thanks Pim! Glad you liked this one.
The stone finishes always look amazing. The color on the scales came out nice as well.
Thank you! Cheers!
Excellent video. This may be my favorite knife you've made. I always felt like a 2x72 turned horizontal would be very handy!
Thanks Wayne!
Great knife brother, it really came out beautifully!!
Thank you very much!
Fantastic piece.
Thank you! Cheers!
absolutely beautiful work bro!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great stuff as usual. Thanks!!! Awesome stuff
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the confidence to hand hold an almost complete knife and grind those scallops in the handle.
Lol, thanks Chris. I wish I would of done some more layout on that handle! It came out pretty good, but really could have been better.
that tumbler is awesome. (PERIOD)
Thanks Joseph!
Over the top James! The hollow came out great. You'd think you've been doing them forever and that handle came out killer. Most guys use a rotary tool or dremel. I'm going to have to try using a small wheel on the grinder. It really cmae out nice! Congrats!
Thanks Jim! Glad you enjoyed that one! I really like this design...
Nice design and super clean execution! Looks great bro! That’s a real nice grinder too
Thank you very much!
You nailed it again! I am not a huge fan of g10 myself, but the lines are just superb. Keep em coming!
Thank you greatly sir!
G10 seems to lend itself well to scalloping and lots of contours, a lot of that detail is hard to see in more traditional materials.
Excellent work man.
Much appreciated!
Really Great Work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks for your educating videos!
Glad you're enjoying them!
It came out amazing
Thanks!
Stunning piece of work sir👍

Thanks Milan!
I really enjoyed this video! Thank you 🙏
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very impessive, and very well explained , thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Very sick build my friend, love how chunky that blade is with the hollow grind
Thank you greatly! Came out as a good cutter too!
Nice! I CANNOT wait for the day I get a grinder that allows me to start doing hollows! Looks superb!
Thank you! Good luck Blair!
@@RedBeardOps I ave a question before you go sir... I dunno if you're familiar with the EXTREMELY frugal grinding option of the harbor freight 4×36 belt sander... But I was wondering if You thought it might be possible to affix a diy surface grinder(not unlike the older surface grinder I've seen you use in older videos) to a rig like the above mentioned 4×36.
@@blairdiviak1984 Hey Blair, with enough effort anything is possible. I can't say I'm sure though on your grinder.
Awesome 👌
Thanks!
Great vid and Great Blade, really like the look of the finished blade and that scalloping of the handle really brought out the layers. I like my water sharpener as well, not sure why people complain about them.
Thanks MrSoloun! Glad you enjoyed this one.
Very nice, i've never ground a hollow in a knife, must try that soon, cheers
It's different for sure! But I liked it
Just beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful job ❤! I’m going to try your lanyard hole idea on the knife I’m in the process of making!
Good luck with your build!
Awesome job man! Now that you have done a hollow grind have you ever thought of mimicking a loveless drop point hunter? Hollow grind, tappered tang, bolster, just a beautiful knife. I know that's on the top of my list to try once I get a 2*72.
Man, maybe one day. That's a very impressive blade design for sure. Cheers
Enjoyed this one.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@RedBeardOps I keep coming back and watching it again. The lines are real nice. Did you make a template?

I think the knife looks great
I would carry it
Thank you!

Very pretty. Reminds me of the Becker BK7 only with nicer lines and scales. Top work.
Thank you very much!
Excellent video

Nice work, was expecting a belt sander. This is awesome! Nice work!
Thank you very much!
Beautiful, clean and minimal design…well done, lad

Well done
Thank you!
Nice looking Knife you do great work
Thank you Terry!
Great video thanks
Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers Jeff!
Beautiful knife. 👍
Thank you!
That knife looks killer! I may have to try making something similar. Love the stone wash on those tactical knives. And the hollow grind. The OCD part of me wished you could've somehow kept the stone washing on the exposed lanyard portion of the tang.
I feel you sir! It's possible for sure with removable handle scales. Cheers!
Nice one 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Amigo, disfrute mucho el video, eres un artista de la cuchillería, hermosa pieza.
Felicitaciones desde Ecatepec, México 🇲🇽
¡Muchos gracias! ¡Ten un excelente fin de semana!
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
That's a beautiful knife.
Thanks!
Excellent work! I have always been too afraid to try a hollow grind.. however, I have made quite a few textured handles... I would try a larger diameter wheel, I typically run a 3/4” or 1” wheel for this operation. Also, I typically grind in the scallops after profiling but before shaping the scales (if that makes sense).
Thanks for the tips!
Fantastic
Thank you! Cheers!
Great knife ! I do my handles with different size round rasps i went too deep using my grinder. Keep up the awsome work bro.
Thanks Michael!
