    What would happen if CheB's ability to remove methyls off the MCP was taken away?

      Theoretically -and this is all guessings- the cell would tumble and run towards the higher chemoattractant concentration initially, the number of methylated MCP would increase continuously without CheB to oppose it, as would the phosphorylated CheY concentration, which increases tumbling frequency. After a while or a change in chemoattractant concentration, because CheB wouldn't be able to reset the methylated MCP, the cell would fail to dynamically decrease its tumbling frequency and eventually would lose its chemotaxis ability.
