Those fly by shots are what dreams are made of . Sounds amazing , looks sick . Killing it guys . Can’t forget the slices too. This channel checks all my boxes . Hell yes !
Seeing this old Benz and hearing a 2JZ is so badass. Love the build! You guys should keep your eyes out for an old Subaru wagon and swap in a turbo V8...
Tech tip: Injectors are one-way valves. You can blow out junk by using carb or brake clean and spraying through the outlet (cylinder end) of the injector. Not as good as the bench cleaner that they used but enough to get you running again if crap got in the intake (rail) side of the injector. Thanks for another great video. That thing is a BEAST.
Dude this episode was informative as hell. Incredibly helpful troubleshooting content. Keep it up bro as always great show. Love what you do. Keep rocking 🤘
Awesome mashup of parts and ingenuity. That power level is fun for something to drive everyday. Are you gonna turn it up? I hear those 2J blocks can handle 650hp no problem... Good work yall.
Look into a set of late model Corolla or Yaris coils and pigtails to upgrade to individual coil on plug. It’s fairly simple. We did it for our 1J. Just three wires per coil.
Hey tony i had the same issue regarding the front main seal due to crank case pressure on my 88 turbocoupe, i did a broke mans dry sump (the vacuum aspect in crankcase), turbocoupe turbos have an inlet that bolts on to the inlet with 2 nipples on them to act as a vacuum source, i got rid of my pcv valve and ran a hose to the nipple, the valve cover breather/ oil separator was run like this from the factory, after i did that with my crankcase pcv i took it for a few WOT runs and it sucked the rear and front main seal back in and i had a little more off idle power and slightly better low end driveability plus a slight increase in gas mileage, never had crank case issues after that...but keep in mind it will make the turbo inlet dirty so its a good time to also add a pre turbo water meth injection set up to keep it clean. Just a little tip to orevent future front and rear main seal issues on boosted cars
It's an epic swap. With my 1JZ-vvti, I removed the wasted spark and fitted coil on plug sequential ignition when upgrading to a Haltech. In the previous videos with this JZ SL Merc, you can also hear the Wastegate sounds kinda funny when it's on boost. That's the wasted spark setup for you....Sounds great now though :-)
huh thats interesting, i did notice it sounded a bit different than im used to and i also have a sequential injected screamer 1j. whats the theory on why it changes the sound?
@@StayTunedTA No worries, great stuff. Here’s some content I’ve had on my mind: Have that welder of yours mock up a tube chassis, and then let a wild tuned engine hang out the back. K-series? VR6? Or maybe a V8 like Clarkson?? You could call it the Murial Adam, or raised suspension and knobby tires for a Murial Go-mad ^^ #modernW198 Cheers
Skip the blow off valve, you'll thank me when you nail a shift with full boost. I ran an EFR 6758 off an indycar for like 2 years without a bov and it had zero shaft play.
Content is amazing, got my Slaps in the mail and on the tool box. This might be my favorite, I've loved these things since I was a kid and have passively looked at the later models for years. Slapping a 2j and a manual kinda negates the eco wiring problem so you could score a nice one dirt cheap

Absolutely love this thing I wasn’t sure if it was the audio in the last video but the 2j just didn’t sound right. But now it’s obviously as it should be. I built a 1JZ w124 300te for my dad and same thing with the gear ratio We Are Going Fast Hahaha. Love it
Awesome work getting 6 sparks. Now can someone PLEASE throw some black primer on the underside of that hood? Just even some undercoat or bed liner. First thing that hoood shoulda come off for some basic attention. Car does sound much better now.
I knew for sure it was missing on the first drive after the trans install. When Tony said “it sounds like it’s running pretty good” then I was thinking “Do huh?!” Sounded like a damn WRX to me 🤣

At least he survived the Fhloston Paradise ship huge explosion.
love love love what you guys are doing. stay true to your roots, no hollywood BS or pretty faces just good old car guy stuff and testing in Mexico.
Awesome troubleshooting! A guy hates to have to do it but it's great to see it done correctly
It’s never fun, but this time it was worth it in the end!
Nice work explaining the steps you took and why! 🤙

Agreed, it feels like hanging out when watching
I liked that build on HRG, good to see it even better.
Such a killer build
Thanks for watching! Turned out awesome!
Too sick. That sound coming out of that vehicle is poetry. I could listen to dyno pulls of that all day.
From sunny South Africa.. spent some time in New Jersey.... would love to be back to see these and feel these projects come to life...
Maybe you can over-hype a 2JZ but you can't over-hype pizza from the North East. One of the few things that I miss while now living in Tennessee.
Open the hood all the way! There's tabs on the hood hinges that will release it into "service position" standing the hood up completely vertical
Feels good to be on all 6 could definitely be a shirt
I do enjoy Barb's reaction to a strong car going fast, the big smile and hooting laugh.
Definitely a great channel that deserves to grow. All the best for the future growth guys I love the rawness this channel has.

Tony you have come a long way since your Lincoln tech days
Did you determine why the last ecu failed? If not, what is preventing the same problem from occurring again?
I would assume voltage spikes from jumping the car a million times with a dead battery, bad connections etc.
