Hrrrgh... Frank Frazetta, Neal Adams, Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby feel like the obvious ones for four out of the top five. I want to give the other nod to Joe Kubert, but I feel like it may be Barry Windsor-Smith. My out to left field pick would be Hal Foster. Great video guys, a lot of these fine artists deserve a lot more recognition! I would have put Matt Baker in my top 10, maybe edging out L.B. Cole.
No one has ever drawn Spider-Man like Todd McFarlane. No one even comes close. Only a handful of artists have caused lines out the door. He's one of them.
Man this is so tough it’s almost like you need a video about top 10 post 1960 and pre 1960. Bernie wrightson probably the greatest horror artist ever also Jonny Craig, frank frazetta,
My favorites: Neal Adams John Byrne John Buscema Michael Golden Alex Ross Todd McFarlane Brian Bolland Jim Starlin George Perez Frank Miller Honorable mentions: Jim Steranko Paul Gulacy Alan Davis Bernie Wrightson (I would’ve place Bernie in the top 10 except his BW stuff never translated into comics as well)
Alex Toth belongs on any list of greatest comic book artists. Plenty of greats in the newspaper strip field (Milton Caniff, Alex Raymond, Hal Foster, Roy Crane) who were very influential on many comic book artists for decades.
Predictions? Adams, Toth, Crumb, Ditko, with Kirby fully expected at #1. Fine as it goes, but as a Scot my top is Bolland. He isn’t just ‘detailed’ or a master storyteller; his art gives me goosebumps. He’s a magician. Unfortunately he’s effectively a cover artist, and has worked digitally for many years. But, my favourite all the same
Nice list. Don't recognize more than half the names. That only means I've learned something new. Your next honorable mention list could include Matt Wagner, Howard Chaykin, Dean Motter, Paul Rivoche, Steve Ditko, Gene Colan, Jim Starlin, Sal Buscema, Gilbert Shelton, Dave Cowan, Bill Sienkiewicz, Keith Giffen, Tim Sale, Mike Zeck, Simon Bisley, Darwyn Cooke and the Kubert Bros. Already have a feeling that your top five will in some way include Joe Kubert, Barry Windsor-Smith and Jack Kirby
I'm just waiting for those same people who call the Beatles overrated to say that Kirby and/or Ditko are overrated. As predictable as an umlaut in a Swedish name.
I’d never be able to narrow the list down to ten. Trying to guess your top five is difficult, even after all the artists you’ve already named. Kirby, obviously. Frazetta, probably. Maybe BWS, Neal Adams, Jack Kamen, Dave Stevens, Al Williamson? There’s tons to choose from. And that’s just limiting the list to American artists.
Your "Top 5" are probably Kirby, Adams, Ditko, Frazetta, and either Kubert, Windsor Smith or Gibbons. For me Bolland is Top 5 and Kirby/Miller are over-rated.

George Perez has to be number one. The incredible detail and beauty, untouchable
I loved John B was my favorite artist until I met him at Dragon Con. 😢 I still love his run on Fantastic Four.
My top 5:
5) Todd McFarlane
4) Tim Vigil
3) Bernie Wrightson
2) Mike Ploog
1) Frank Frazetta
Too many to narrow down to 10. Everyone has their favorite for different reasons. No wrong answers here. John Buscema for me.

Tim Sale's, David Finch, George Perez😊
I'm one of the guys that never heard of lb Cole 😂

Maybe #11....but Mike Grell was the man..
John Buscema, John Byrne, Alan Davis, Ivan Reis, Barry Windsor Smith
Arthur Adams
I think George Perez & John Byrne are my top artists, and I like Bob Layton's Iron Man
Add moebius and bob ctumb and corben.
Your picture is of John Byrne the playwright not John Byrne the comic book artist.

Dont forget frank bellamy.
If Kirby, Schomburg & Neal Adams aren’t in the top 5 I’m not a comic fan.
😉
Any top ten artists list that does not include John Romita Sr. is a top ten list that is wrong. Period.
That superman dude was a reach
I'm disappointed your daughter is missing. One assumes she's doing well.
Rachael was the voice you heard off camera and she did all of the production work 😊👍
