Xerjoff Pikovaya Dama Perfume Review + What Are Aldehydes
This is my Xerjoff Pikovaya Dama Perfume Review. This is such a luxurious, elegant, beautiful perfume for men and women. It's big on the aldehydes but masterfully created. This is the 2018 version of Pikovaya and what I'm experiencing here is truly gorgeous. But I never sampled the 2015 version but I assume they were identical. Both ashely and I were blown away by how great this fragrance is. We just loved it, absolutely loved this offering from Xerjoff. Delicious in every aspect. You must love aldehydes though if you aren't into fizzy, sparkly, clean aldhehydic fragrances then Xerjoff Pikovaya Dama might not be for you. What are Aldehydes you ask? Hello Sebastian! Oh, what a great review (Ashley is AWESOME!) and what a generous giveaway!!! I am from Europe (Austria), I am a huuuuge Xerjoff fan ("NAXOS" and "ALEXANDRIA II" are to die for, in my humble female opinion). Currently my favorite clean/fresh fragrance is one that I have discovered by surprise - at first sniff I did not like it at all though, but then I really tried and tested my sample and I fell head over heels in love with its originality and its drydown: It is "BRACKEN WOMAN" by Amouage - on my skin it ends up smelling like the drydown & fresh version of Chanel's Coromandel - earthy and luxe. My favorite classic fragrance would be Guerlain "L'HEURE BLEUE" (always coming back to it...). I would looooooooooooooooooove to win "PIKOVAYA DAMA"! Thank you for always replying to my comments and questions, by the way. You take such good care of your subscribers and I highly appreciate that. Greetings from Europe! :)

What a great giveaway! Thank you so much, Sebastian, and I hope Ashley gets a bottle of this, too. It is always enjoyable and educational when she is your guest, Sebastian. I wore a sample of Pikovaya Dama two days ago, and have been learning to appreciate the aldehydes in this fragrance that make it so appealing. It takes me time to adjust to new scents, and this one took me by surprise with how soapy it smells. Today I am sniffing Pikovaya Dama, and the loveliness and complexity behind it is emerging more and more, so I am finally "getting" aldehydes and slowly falling in love. My favorite clean fragrance has been Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Universalis Forte (AUF), but this may supersede it in the future. Wore AUF on a hot day to a graduation ceremony and it performed wonderfully in the sun. My favorite classic fragrance is Houbigant Fougère Royale. My favorite clean fragrance (presently) is Dior Homme Cologne 2013. Difficult to choose a favorite classic...there are so many beauties...but I will go with Chanel No 19. I am in the U.S.
I love how Ashley uses the best adjectives to describe fragrance notes. I like perfumers opinions. My favorite super classic is the L'Authentique Eau de Cologne of Napoleon 1st in St. Helena. A cologne developed from memory by Napoleon before his hundred day march to Pairs. Smells very different. My favorite clean fragrance is Dior Homme Cologne. Something about the crisp citrus and the grapefruit blossom, so simple but refreshing.

My collection is small, and I’ve only recently been trying more fragrances and doing my research. As of today, my favorite clean scent is Gypsy Water by Byredo. Classic would either be Jo Malone’s Orange Blossom (which may also be considered on the clean side) because I used to wear it so much many years ago. Also Original Santal by Creed. I've been able to sample some Xerjoff fragrance over time, but Pikovaya Dama sounds truly luxurious.

Wow what a great video--always a special treat to see an Ashley collab. My favorite clean fragrance might be Bois de Cedrat by Creed, and my favorite classic fragrance, not nearly as old as Chanel No. 5, but from the same house, Chanel Pour Monsieur (all versions). Love it!

My favorite clean fragrance would have to be Viktor&Rolf's Spicebomb Eau Fraiche. The pink pepper and grapefruit opening is so memorable to date nights with my wife (fiance at the time). A true gem of a fragrance.
Also, my favorite classic fragrance was one that started my fragrance journey, and that would be none other than Issey Miyake's L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme. For year's this was my signature scent as it gave me great performance and projection and was a smell like none other at the time. I really enjoy this timeless scent and it's affordable so I'm guaranteed that I'll always have it in my collection.

I absolutely love Xerjoff house, probably one of my favorites and my favorite creation of their is Naxos, close runner up is Casamorati 1888, there are few that I really want to get, but I have to save for it and find a good deal for Fatal Charme and Birdie which is very rare for some reason, but what a masterpiece.
Loved the saying about perfumes: "you can be another person, if you really are not that person" which is so true, you can dress up and enhance your self with a stunning scent and absolutely send a different impressions and it can be casual, serious you name it. And one of the scents that make me think and feel of serious and rich is DHP, it is just that special, truly a niche in a designer bottle.
My favorite clean scent is by no doubt Muglers Cologne, one of my all time favorite scent! A classic scent would be Fahrenheit because it is one of the scents that got me into fragrances when I was still a teenager and to this day I adore it, would mention Obsession, Joop Homme and Habit Rouge too.

Fave clean fragrance in eau de minimes by le couvant des minimes. This cologne just makes me lie down in freshly laundered sheets or go to a picnic wearing all white looking all catalogue-y 😂. It’s just fresh and clean i feel like i can go to an operating room without having to scrub down when wearing this!
As for my favorite classic id have to give it to the 90s Basic Men King that is l’eau d’issey. Nothing more to be added. A staple in every dresser, man or woman.

Most fragrances I go for arent neccisarily 'clean' or soapy. I tend to love fragrances with a lot of depth: Black Afgano, LADDM, Encens Mythique, Pardon. I have not done a lot of exploration into clean scents though I do wear Mugler Cologne often.
Also my favorites change quite often.
My current favorite clean scent would probably have to go to Moscow Mule by Juliet has a Gun. It is very simple accepts its synthetic nature to create a minimalist beauty. Looking forward to a bottle soon.
My favorite classic fragrance is probably a four way tie right now. 1)Cosmair Polo / TF Italian Cypress. They are very similar, just Polo goes for that tar-like pine accord while IC is of course the fresher cypress opening. 2)Tuscany per Uomo by Aramis. Zesty and masculine. 3)Vintage Zino Davidoff. Smells aged and rich and lucious. 4)Vintage Kouros: just a wowing scent.

Well, my favorite clean frag must be Woody Mood from Olfactive Studio, it's a stunner and as clean as it gets with me (because I'm usually not into super clean stuff to be honest). It's a new find for me and I really enjoy it, keep sniffing my arm! When people talk about clean fragrance I always think of the citrus scents.so my fav clean fragrance would be mandarine by l'artisan. it doesn't last for long but the first 30 seconds is so fresh and juicy, perfectly resembling the smell you get when you cut an orange open in the summer
and my fav classic fragrance is the original nina by nina ricci, very aldehyde-y but not a grandma type of fragrance. my mom gave it to me when i was a kid and I have had the bottle for almost 25 yrs. I've always loved it because it reminds me of my mom.

Hi Sebastian, I'm completely hooked on your channel. I agree when you say that when we dive into niche fragrances, gender doesn't play a huge factor in deciding if a scent is wearable by the individual. For my CLEAN scent, I tend to use VAN CLEEF & ARPELS, 'BOIS DORE'. For my CLASSIC, i'm a fan of BYREDO 'ROSE OF NO MAN'S LAND'. These two fragrances work well with my body chemistry, and I always get asked what i'm wearing. Would like to try the Pikovaya Dama to see how it compares to these two. I'm in USA.

Keep up the amazing work! My favorite clean scent is Dior Homme Cologne, as it lasts suprisingly long on me and is ideal for the typical warm July/August days and nights. I have a 4711 blood orange and basil cologne that is lovely this hot summer, it eau de Cartier essence orange...oh this reminded me of Issey Miyake a scent soleil de neroli, from duty free.. I absolutely loved this video because it was quite informative! Ashley is so knowledgeable and you guys always teach me something new. I love aldehyde fragrances and to hear about the coriander was quite intriguing. My favorite clean fragrances is a cheapy and it is Philosophy's Pure Grace.....you can't get cleaner than that. My favorite classic fragrance is Chanel No 5 because both my mom and grandmother wore it when I was a child. Favorite Xerjoff would be Nio. I can't wait to get my nose on this one! :-)
Greetings from Sweden! A super nice video as usual. At the moment my cleanest favorite is Sir Gallahad from Isabey. It might be far from the most cleanest freshie out there, but to me this is soothing in the summer heat. Also, I believe it to be classy and elegant in a way. My favorite classic is Phul Nana from Grossmith. Don't know what it is, but something in this scent just grabs me and takes me back in time and into a room of grandeur. A truly sovereign fragrance.
Awesome review. I have too many clean and classic scents but Bergamot 22 comes to mind as the cleanest and M7 which for me has a very classic feel to it. 🇺🇸

Great review.As far as i can remember Pikovaya Dama was exclusive made for the russian market,but i've never had the chance to smell it.I do own Lira from the Casamorati line and Renaissance.

My favorite clean scent has been No Rules from Jusbox, an Italian niche brand. Quite aldehydic and has a nice accord of vinyl with saffron lifting it up. Jasmin and cinnamon blush up once in while.
From classical perfumery I am a big fan of the original Aprés L’Ondeé from Guerlain and also Pour um Homme de Caron. Both have strong personalities and irreverent scents.

I love clean soapy fragrances and my favorite one is probably Mugler Cologne or Creeds Original Vetiver. I also love classic old school barbershop type of fragrances, my favorite classic is Vetiver by Guerlain. Cheers!
