Great trigger system. I learned it from my mentor Ron Hood as well, thank you for mentioning him. That shows a lot of class and respect. Thanks for the video.
@@DavidCanterbury and a better friend. I tell a little story about one of our trips in my last live feed. I miss him every time I am in the woods. Thanks for helping to keep his memory alive.
Almost like you've been reading my mind, bro. Been practicing allot of the primitive trapping I learned from you last year at the school and, lately, different trigger systems. This is great to add to the list of practice pieces...thanks.
Dave, i use to watch and follow you from Duel Survival... now i get to follow you and learn from you on here. that looks like the most easy way to set a line. thanks the knowledge you possess and share...
Sweet! I have used something similar with a single loop and a balanced stick but this is definitely and upgrade as it looks much easier to set. I will definitely add this to my collection. Thanks Dave.
Love the idea of the retention string on the trigger. I have lost several triggers over the years. Ron's Traps and Trapping DVD is still a go-to resource for me.
I remember that set from Ron years ago, forgot about it as I used a two stick notched for set lines and small game snares, thanks for showing it again, going to share with my scouts.
When I was a teenager in w.n.c. I had to walk five miles from my car breaking down no food no water got cotton mouth from being so thirsty with the river right beside me. Ty Dave for all your teachings you are not just teaching you are saving people's lives like mine now I'm always prepared because of you ty so much for doing what you do God bless you.
I noticed you used 2 different diameter pieces of cordage, (probably for demonstration), but it also appears that the same diameter cordage for both pieces could be used when setting this trap. Am I correct?
If you use a slightly fatter trigger stick at one end, drill a hole through, thread the cord you use for you ground anchor and tie it in to the trigger loop you never lose the trigger stick.
Solid video Dave! When you’re using a spring pole snare is there a rule of thumb for the amount of tension you need? For example the weight of a deadfall is supposed to be 4-5 times the weight of the target animal. Does the spring pole have to be strong enough to lift the animal in your experience?
cool trap videos! reminds me of a real life video game! i’m documenting my journey to make a primitive shelter but i don’t think i could go as far to trap game unless my life depended on it.
I have a question, would you do a video on how to make charcoal and its purposes for survival, I can't begin to thank you enough for everything, may the Good Lord bless you and your family
Great trigger system. I learned it from my mentor Ron Hood as well, thank you for mentioning him. That shows a lot of class and respect. Thanks for the video.
He was great man

This is such a simple, yet effective, trap set up. Thank you.
*Using different type lines and colors is a great way to demonstrate!*
Thank you. I'm going to attempt this as a fishing line.
the way you explain this makes it seem so easy to understand ,thanks for sharing
Thanks Dave, this is just the setup I’ve been looking for so many uses.
Great Chanel you’ve got going .
Love your way to learn, and for me im Swedish , I learn better from you in English! I wish i had a teacher like you back in the days for real !
Dave, i use to watch and follow you from Duel Survival... now i get to follow you and learn from you on here. that looks like the most easy way to set a line. thanks the knowledge you possess and share...
You have covered many trigger systems so far and should include all these triggers in a pocket book, something that I'd definitely buy.
Great video Dave, I love learning from you. You are a great teacher!!!! I've been putting that 64 oz Bushpot to work!! Great piece of kit!!!
Sweet! I have used something similar with a single loop and a balanced stick but this is definitely and upgrade as it looks much easier to set. I will definitely add this to my collection. Thanks Dave.
Thanks brother

Love the idea of the retention string on the trigger. I have lost several triggers over the years. Ron's Traps and Trapping DVD is still a go-to resource for me.
Thank you Dave! My grandkids come up north to see me and I teach them what you show me, they think grandpa is amazing 👍 thanks again brother MACVSOG
Super cool Dave!!! Fast and easy. Thanks for the VID!!
Learning something every day thanks for the info. That would be a lot faster than carving all the sticks although I do like your wishbone trap.
Just getting into trapping, this looks a lot easier then a lot of the other trap systems Ive seen.
Excellent! I can think of several different uses for that trigger setup. Thanks for sharing.
I remember that set from Ron years ago, forgot about it as I used a two stick notched for set lines and small game snares, thanks for showing it again, going to share with my scouts.

Great knowledge to Kno on the trail Dave. Thanks for all you do..
Sweet so many possibilities definitely will be putting it to use thanks again Dave your wisdom seems never ending brother
You made it easy to understand. Love it!
Could you show how to apply this to some of your favorite traps? I'm new to the whole trapping thing.
Bro that Trigger System is Brilliant, Please make more primitive trapping video and explanation, Thanks
These traps are simple and fun. Thanks for the thorough demonstration. 👍

Awesome trap. Cool triggering.
This is a cool video. Count me in as one who is learning here. Thank you.
I love this, exactly what I wanted for alarm system in the woods.
Awesome video! Thanks Dave...
Well that was COOL!! KISS system, works for me! Thanks Dave!!
I noticed you used 2 different diameter pieces of cordage, (probably for demonstration), but it also appears that the same diameter cordage for both pieces could be used when setting this trap. Am I correct?
Yes it could be the same
Very elegant system. It seems it would not be super sensitive, so wouldn't work on really small, light-touch game. But for anything bigger, I LIKE IT!
If you use a slightly fatter trigger stick at one end, drill a hole through, thread the cord you use for you ground anchor and tie it in to the trigger loop you never lose the trigger stick.
Awesome tool for the box!!!! This will be great for where I fish and hunt!!!
That's awesome. Thanks for sharing this.
never seen that system before thanks for sharing

Nice one Dave!
I like that. Very efficient.

If you are trapping a mammal it should be enough tension to lift them off the ground
Never seen this one before, very nice 👊💯🔥🔥🔥
Very clever.
Thanks.
Definitely logging this one!
Ya i learn something everytime i watch you.
cool trap videos! reminds me of a real life video game! i’m documenting my journey to make a primitive shelter but i don’t think i could go as far to trap game unless my life depended on it.
