Your finishes are all beautiful. I can't wait to see your WIP parade. I count stitching and the stitching/ flosstube community as a special blessing in 2020; there was comfort and distraction available when I needed it. And my stitching gave me something that I could control in a world that was so unfamiliar.
You have fabulous stitching projects and have achieved a lot of lovely pieces - I love how you have given pieces of stitching to people you know will enjoy your love for stitching them !! They will be treasured!! Looking forward to hearing about your plans for 2021 stitching !
Watching you this morning was a wonderful way to start the new year. As you said one of the good thing that came out of 2020 was the extra stitching time and you certainly made good use out of it with so many finishes. Somehow I missed earlier that you had finished your anniversary/wedding sampler. It came out so wonderful. You've picked some wonderful new projects for 2021. I look forward to following your progress and also seeing what else you've planned for 2021. Happy stitching!
That was fabulous. And I saw the wip parade also. Both videos had just beautiful projects. I am not a cross stitcher. I tried it, but just couldn't get the hang of it. But I love to see the finished projects. I am a quilter, a card maker, an album maker, a journal maker and am going to try some wool applique. I have plenty of wip's, and like you - some have more priority than others. Their time will come - or not. Thanks again for the videos and I'll be following you.
Thank you June! One of my best friends is a paper crafter. I’m in total awe of everything she does but I’ve tried it and it’s not for me. But I love watching her create and all her projects. So I get appreciating and enjoying other crafts. Thanks for watching and hope you continue to watch and chat❤️
Just found your floss tube, I really enjoyed watching, loved all your finishes. I am also a New England stitcher who found her way back to stitching after a long break. Can’t wait to see more.
RUclips popped your video up in my feed. So glad it did. I thoroughly enjoyed your Flosstube. I especially liked your gray house in “Home of a Needlemaker.” That bird with the needle and thread was the perfect touch. Regarding your ancient WIPs. At the time you bought them, they served a need. If you are no longer in love with them, part with them and do yourself a huge favor because if you finish them, will you still like them? If not, there are patterns that you love more to be stitching on. I purged my craft closet about four years ago. What a relief to get rid of projects that I’m no longer interested in. There weren’t many, but there were several and some had been expensive. Most of them I had purchased to combat boredom and was not particularly in love with the pattern. During the purge, I viewed them as having been good practice and important to improving my skill. And since they served my revised purpose, they are history. Some of them had a memory that I did not want to remember. For instance, I started a Crosstitch tablecloth when my mother was ill. I bought it to stitch on when I spent many hours with her in the hospital. After she died, it made me sad every time I saw it, so I never finished it and I parted with it. If you donate partly done projects to Goodwill or Salvation Army, there are people who love to finish retro projects or they might want to unpick what you started and save the cloth. Whatever, it can make somebody else happy.
Thanks Davette! Yes...I completely agree with the idea of passing something on when it doesn’t give you joy. I’ve pared down my old WIPS to that point. And if any WIP reaches that point I like passing it onto another Stitcher who it will bring joy. On my next video I explained my method to my thought process with my old WIPs that I have left. Glad that you enjoyed the video and stitching!
Love your finishes!! Hope your few new starts doesn't mean you will stop hauling because you are one of my biggest enablers!! I am sure I will need a notebook and pen during your WIP parade. Can't wait to see more of your videos in 2021!!
I'm sure I will keep hauling....glad I am able to enable you! I'm hoping to buy a little bit less though so I can stitch more of what I have.....but we will see how that goes! Get the pencil ready for the WIP parade and Happy New Years!
Wow! You've got so many lovely finishes! Your Linens and Threads sal is gorgeous. Thanks for the tip on Sapphire Mountain, I'll check them out. Your Frankenstein is lovely. I like the pumpkin ladies too. And belated congrats on your wedding anniversary! It's never too late for a wedding sampler.
Wow - just wow. I loved everything you finished. That Star Wars project turned out very cool. And so many beautiful beautiful stitches. I loved your wedding sampler. Enjoyed hearing your plans, and eagerly look forward to seeing your stitching this coming year. Happy New Year!
I snorted when you described WIP parades as the Super Bowl of cross stitch. It’s funny because it’s true! I related to the fact that you stopped stitching when your kids were young. I did the same - and I have a ton of projects that could also vote (I will finish them!). I look forward to your progress.
I'm dying! did anyone else notice one of Amy's daughters literally CRAWLING behind the counter so as not to disturb the finish parade! Stitchy families are awesome.
I didn't see it until someone messaged me about it and then I had to watch. I didn't even notice it while editing! That was my youngest and it cracked me up! Real life people! This is real life! Have a Happy New Year!
I really enjoyed your video. Your January starts are all beautiful pieces, and big ones ratio! Wishing you and your family a wonderful, healthy, peaceful 2021!
OMG I loved watching your stitch parade, what a beauty to watch your stash. I am so glad you did not throw out your stitch haul when you moved because a lot of those are out of print. I know all about the 80's I grew up moving a lot and stitching from kits, cause that is what was out back then and then there was charts not much in Cross Stitch like now!!! I enjoy your videos, I plan to add samplers to my stitching plans for 2022 and some of your haul has given me some ideas!!! You have a Merry Christmas and I look forward to watching more of your videos and I subscribed to your channel! :)
Amy, you had a very productive year with lots of beautiful stitching finishes. And next year looks like fun, too. I stitched ATS, finished in 2014. It was an accomplishment that I am proud of every day. Happy New Year to you and your family. ❤️Susan
Great video!! I loved seeing what you did in 2020. I am also doing the Modern Folk Embroidery SAL but have not picked thread and fabric yet, guess I had better get busy. Happy stitching..........
OMG...Love all your finishes, but the sunflower house is awesome..i just hope that gets rereleased....hope you and your family have a safe and wonderful new year...happy stitching Cheers!
You had so many fantastic finishes in 2020!! I think the salty one is my favorite :) I may need to stitch that. I can't wait for your WIP parade. Wishing you a happy and healthy new year with lots of stitching!!
@@gablesstitcher3325 I'll pull it out on Sunday and get some stitches in. Im doing a Border January and there is plenty of border on that one I can work on! Missed you this week!
Beautiful projects!! However I tend to watch a lot of spooky videos and for a second was a little freaked out until I realized it was a person crawling in the background 🤣🤣
Omg I just needed to question the kids to find out which one it was. No ghost 🤣🤣. Just a 13 year old going to get her phone. I had no idea until you told me and I went back to watch.
@@gablesstitcher3325 🤣🤣 I thought you knew because as soon as the foot passed the couch you did a close up of the project and I figured you were giving them time to retreat 🤣🤣
Thanks Stephanie! I always love hanging out with you too. And yes....big samplers on the list for this year! To knock off the WIP list and get on the walls.
I thought I was the only one with lots of wips! Like you I do not buy the decorative bags that many use. I buy the 2 gallon size zip lock bags at the 99cent store to store my projects as they are nice and big. Dollar Tree has XXL plastic storage bags with a handle that seal that will hold the entire project with scroll bars or q-snaps!
Long live all the WIPS! Although I would like to bring my total down some....and the amazon bags are great! I use 2 gallon Zip locks too. Mostly when kitting up. I have two friends who make bags and all my pretty bags are from them. It’s a nice treat every once in a while but I have too many projects for that many projects bags.
What a great year you had!!! Love the Darth Vader one!! Heck, loved them all!! I had to go back and watch, I thought I saw something on your floor and I kept telling myself that I was seeing things. And at the end of your video, I started it over again and just watched your left side and sure enough there is one of your daughters crawling on the floor!! LMAO, that was funny. I'm so happy to see that someone got some stitching out of the Covid quarantine. What I got out of everyone quarantining was a damn job! LOL. I sure wasn't looking, but my husband's job had so many people quarantine that he just told them that I was a dependable worker and I didn't even fill out an application and landed a job. I wanted to kill him at first because I hadn't worked in 6 years, from my own choice (and a previous back surgery), but I'm thankful for the extra stitchy money now. I have kitted up so many projects that I'm wondering if I'm ever going to have the time to stitch them all. Thank goodness for the grands. They get all my stitchy stuff if something happens to me and I must say, they will need for nothing to get started!! Lol Look forward to seeing your 2021 WIP parade. Like you, I love to watch them all!! Take care, Ruth.
Thanks Ruth! So funny about the sly intruder!! It was my youngest and I didn't notice until someone messaged me about it and I went back to watch. Sweet kid didn't want to interrupt my video! I always say my videos are real life! They truly are! A job for extra stitchy money is good! And I look at stash as life insurance.....need to stitch it all before I die....right now I'm good until I'm 950!! Happy New Year!

Beautiful finishes!! I am so excited to see the New Constellation project “in person.” I have had my eye on that one. I have Lila’s Studios Independence Hall that I am thinking of starting on Inauguration Day. If/when I every finish that, I may take Constellation on.
Independence Hall is a stunning project! I’ve seen it finished and it’s amazing. That’s on my list too...but I have so many BAPS I can’t start it with a clear conscience. You should start it and watch my progress on New Constellation so you can stitch that too.
Ok. So a few questions. 1) do you put a backing on your pieces you call quilts or blankets? Could you show one, please? 2) Is the thread count tighter as the number goes up? The lower the # of an aids cloth, the more space between threads? 3) when you use a 40 + count cloth, are you basically free-wheeling with your stitch size? Still so many questions!
You mentioned searching for old patterns. I have a piece started “back when” and I’ve misplaced the chart. How would I look for it? I’m pretty sure it was a kit but have no idea who did it...I only have the floss, fabric and a picture. Any suggestions on how to follow-up in my quest for a chart?
