  • Bishop T.D. Jakes continues his stirring message, “The Holy Spirit - Your CIA Agent,” in this presentation from The Potter’s House of Dallas, Texas.
Bishop Jakes emphasizes the crucial importance of eliminating outside distractions to hear the voice of God. From the text he notes that Elijah put his head between his knees when he prayed for rain. He shut out the noise around him and focused on his communication with God.
Referencing 1 Corinthians 2:12, Bishop Jakes talks about how we have received the Spirit of God, not the spirit of the world. This is so we can know what God has freely given to us. We have a spiritual inheritance, but we need to be in tune with the Holy Spirit to enjoy it. We must hear, understand, and follow God’s purpose for us. As T.D. Jakes says, “No deviation. No discrepancies. Just direction for life.”
Our life is a result and reflection of what we choose to focus on and value: the natural or the spiritual. Faith is beyond human senses and understanding. Just like a muscle, we must exercise our spiritual senses to strengthen them and use them.
Don’t waste time trying to appease the natural man. The natural man cannot understand the things of God. Spiritual intelligence cannot come from our natural senses. We must gain wisdom, knowledge, favor, purpose, and destiny from the Holy Spirit. Therefore, it is in our eternal best interest to invest our time in communication with God.
