  • Is there a leading figure, or company, within the #sustainability movement you admire?
Regardless of what your answer is, it’s clear that GFBiochemicals (GFB) is aiming to be one. The Paris-based company, which announced a €15 million funding round earlier this year, is dedicated to combating climate change by producing “green” alternatives to the petrochemicals that serve as key ingredients in the making of household products like shampoo and detergent.
“What we're trying to achieve here is to target ingredients which are used in our products of every day… And we are replacing those ingredients by bio-based ingredients, which [are] coming from agriculture waste, and which are much safer for people and much safer for the planet,” CEO Mathieu Flamini told LinkedIn News senior editor Joseph Milord.
Flamini also happens to be a former French national soccer team player. He co-founded GFB over a decade ago while still actively playing and assumed the role of chief executive earlier this year.
Check out the video below to learn more about Flamini, GFBiochemicals and its goal of taking on the petrochemical industry.
