- Axel Syrios shares why and how he learned Japanese, and advice to people wanting to learn a new language.

Guess he'll be the bridge for Holostars EN and JP if ever they want to collab
Reminds me of how good IRyS is with her Japanese during EN-JP collabs
@@blossom.ch4 also with ID-JP
ID has Anya, Ollie, Iofi, Zeta, Reine and Risu
btw for the people asking: it's pretty common practice to censor chat when clipping, pretty sure it's out of respect for the privacy of people chatting
Also people sometimes write annoying comments
wait wut?! that's the first time I heard that. also respect for privacy of the people? isn't chat a public place where you can communicate with the creator and everyone can see it? (no hate btw, just curios)
@@tigerblank7446 I'm watching hololive since 2020, and this is the first time I'm seeing this, too lmao.
@@tigerblank7446 also, other ppl can watch the vod and see all these common uncensored, it's like kinda useless to cersore the chat
@@achow3360 oh really? I see it all the time on niji JP clips
It is amazing how his demeanor also changes when he responded to Altair in Japanese. Really a good example of how a language can shape interactions.
Axel just gave his Japanese advice in Japanese LMAO thx for the translation.
Altare just randomly flex his japanese in Axel's chat lol. I definitely wanna see his japanese chatting stream some day.
Collabs with Roberu. Is asked a question he doesn't want to answer, and pretends he can't speak Japanese.
Deja Vu
Axel is honestly pretty smart.
I think he is half-japanese or something. His Japanese so freaking good fr tho
Australia receives a lot of Japanese tourists, immigrants and exchange students.
He said his English wasn't so good until middle school, which I guess means he didn't spoke much English in primary school? Maybe he lived in Japan for a few years in his childhood.
It's like 40% of EN members are English-speaking Asians or something, Ina, Kronii, Sana, Bae, Magni and probably Axel , Irys.
@@TheKaMeLRo irys too? 😳
@@tawakaled IRyS is half japanese.
Although to be honest the way they speak has specific nuances that are often found amongst English speaking Asians.
Speaking as an Asian person myself, I don't really know how to explain it but you just have a feeling even if they have a completely different accent that specific method of speaking or nuance doesn't really go away when speaking English. Especially if they speak a second language other than English it's much easier to pick up on.
Well...now I just have to find japanese friends lol I hope to be as good as him 🧡
Honestly you could learn by listening to him. His diction in Japanese is really really clean, def native level. (But don't actually talk like him, he's doing a "bad boy"/yankii voice.)
thx for the vid!! need more Axel clippers
Well yeah, depends on what you want to achieve really, I can read and write in english no problem since an early age, but I have never been to an english speaking country nor have I ever spoken face to face to a native speker in english. But my aim was to simply consume media in english, not to connect with people, so I dont really mind. So you can learn a language without ever speaking to someone speaking that language, of course your knowledge is always going to be incomplete.
right goal management is key to language learning. So many over estimate what they really want to do with the language.
@@living_neutral1669 Right, like he said, he was not interested in learning to write kanji properly, and I agree, this is something that didnt sit well with my Japanese teacher, but I stand by my decision, learning to write (by hand) kanji, outside Japan, while not intending to ever live there is pointless and a pain, if you just intend to chat on the internet and such, typing is more than enough and by far easier. Of course if you love japanese calligraphy that is a different matter entirely.
Think you’re capable of connecting just fine. I don’t think conversational English is that different from written English. So your knowledge is far from “Incomplete”
I saw holostars clip , I subscribed
thx for the clip
i think he either spent his childhood in Japan, or that he is of japanese descent
Dammit, starting young. The one thing I can't do.
I'm so used to him being a bombastic VOD-killing himbo. He's very reserved and mellow in this stream.
Orange color✅
Can speak english & japanese ✅
Has rebel/troublesome image ✅
Half animal being ✅
'bit similar to Coco I musta say...
And Kiara...
And Bae...
ホロスターズJP???
EN出身だが日本語を話す
ハーフかも
Good life advice for all!
Aussie+good at japanese......
His Japanese reminded me of Roberu for some reason
Nihongo jouzu... w
Some day I'll stop procrastinating in my learning 😭
I know I should practice more by making Japanese friends but I am very bad at making and meeting new friends. ;つД`)
It sounds like Axel and Kiara are the same type of learners
He real name axel or brian
he laughed in english
Um~~ I think it's ok if you show the chat comment actually, it's already on the talent stream visibily
Why u censor chat?
It's a normal occurrence to censor the chat just because. Some people just want to focus on the content of the stream they clip, not the chat.
also EN chat was kinda rude on that stream
why cencoring the chat though
For privacy, and to focus on the content of the stream not the chat.
also because they were being disrespectful, japanese stream means japanese stream
