okaycoasters I never got to go to this park as a kid, as I grew up on the opposite coast. But I watched the movie Rollercoaster so many times, and it has the singing mushrooms featured in a scene, so when they brought them back it was like they were restoring an odd part of my childhood.
okaycoasters You really should! Not because it’s a great movie, objectively speaking (I’d say it’s on the high end of mediocre - not bad at all, not that good), but because it’s such a part of coaster history. First, it features great shots of old parks in the 70s, especially Kings Dominion and Magic Mountain. Second, as you may know, the celebratory premiere of the film at the new Rebel Yell is what brought together several enthusiasts who only then realized they weren’t alone in their hobby and so decided to found ACE.
I actually live in Virgina and I have been to King’s Dominion many times, I was on the volcano and when you get on the roller coaster, you started at a slow speed, then a you shoot out of the volcano! It was so much fun and it always surprised me. I was very upset learning about the volcano’s closing, at least I was able to experience it. I recommend everyone to head there and to remember to “Ride On.”

Volcano: The Revenge would be cool, but that won't happen due to the cost of building a new mountain. It would still be a cool addition if they ever did it.

I guess a 300 foot coaster that’s arguably the most intense coaster ever made along with a RMC and floorless isn’t enough. I305 destroys 90 percent of the coasters in the US. I live in Texas I’ll give you titan any day for that
I don't get why everyone is creaming their jeans over I-305 I rode it and, yeah, hella extreme and unforgettable, but..I'll be honest: I'd take The Voyage, SROS at SFNE, Steel Dragon 2000 or Anubis over the ride.
I can't stress enough how much I love your narration and editing style! 1:15 talking about memories being blurry and then incorporating that into the video is just masterful. Your use of slow motion and speed ramping along with effortless transitions from scene to scene to match music and or narration is equally smooth. As a self-taught video/graphics designer for the last 20 years I know first hand how much work it takes to make these videos and it's highly appreciated.

At least it isn't six flags.... Seriously cedar fair needs to invest in less coasters for now and get bigger flat rides such as huss break dance or top scans from mondail...that is needed since they are removing the huss enterprises
Many of the rides that Cedar Fair removed from KD were older rides, or rides that were maintenance nightmare such as Volcano. Plus they took out Hypersonic XLC after the 2007, a prototype coaster that had a lot of issues. Many of the Huss Top Spin rides are reaching the end of their lifespans such as the Crypt.
I was thinking Hypersonic was removed before the Cedar Fair Purchase. Yeah alot of them are older or tons of work to maintain like you said. I do think cedar fair does a great job with the parks
It’s sad I’ll never get to share Volcano with my kiddos. But I’ll survive. We still have the hybrids. I’m glad they are really working on the theme aspect. I haven’t been in a decade but this video got me excited to visit. I hope covid takes a hike soon!
okaycoasters The hybrids are great! My mom and dad rode those coasters in their wooden prime, soooo jealous! But the good thing about all this coaster shuffling is that if we don’t end up with something new to replace Volcano, then we will probably just end up with a pretty good modern rebranded coaster.
Kings Dominion is treated as well as the rest of the higher parks, they just cut out a lot more of the mediocre or costly rides, which provides better overall quality. I wouldn’t be surprised when they do the same to CW. There’s still a lot they could do there.

I stopped by one of my favorite videos of yours to say two things. This is the first time I've watched one of your videos while logged in. My family watches your videos on the big screen because of the quality. Not only because of picture content... but the edit, writing, voice over, and music placement. We fall in love with every ride you speak about because of your passion about each ride. You make every ride feel epic, the triumph they truly deserve. We stay logged out on the big screen for algorithm-sake and diverse needs from youtube. But, I gave you a well deserved like and subscribe before I wrote this. Our home park is Magic Mountain. With the world and our country going through what it is... I hope you can visit our park soon. Safety first, though. I hope you can spend 2 or 3 days capturing our park soon. There's a diverse line up with some clones and some very unique experiences, it is Six Flags of course. Many folks have filmed and presented our park... but I look forward to your perspective. Your right, Cedar Fair is fixing to do something BIG in Safari Village. They are not removing two rides in the same area and not have something big on the table to replace them. Great Video!!
King’s Dominion has been struggling in terms of attendance for a few years now. The continued removal of signature attractions are either a sign that Cedar Fair is about to pull a Geauga Lake or have a new master plan for this park. About a decade ago, KD and Carowinds were neck and neck for the 5th largest CF park. Carowinds has clearly taken that place and it doesn’t look as if that will be changing anytime soon. Regardless, KD is very forgettable at this point, so it isn’t surprising Cedar Fair is pulling back from this park.

A lot of people think that the next ride coming and its replacement is a B&M wing. I think that's a question that you should have asked is what would you personally like to have fill in the space of volcano.

I am liking your channel thus far. Keep up the good work. I like it, because you give positive notes you provide not just the negative ones, because many people enthusiasts and GP forget about what these companies are investing and doing as a whole and many videos I saw about this park said like 80% of the line up of coasters is whatever to whack. I like the Forgotten 10 video as well.
Great video. When cedar fair took over the park they had lots to do and i think they are doing a great job although its a long process. And yes what ever replaces volcano WILL BE EPIC!!!!
I hope you will find the time to do an Europabased trip ( I would love to show you around!) From where i live we can do 13 major parks major parks in less than 7 hors driving :) plus a few smaller fun parks with good rides !

Y'all got it good. Try having magic mountain as your home park... what could be a roller coaster heaven if treated right has been let decay with Twisted Colossus (2015) being the ONLY elite ride in the park added since maybe tatsu in 2006 or more realistically X in 2001.
I see Kings Dominion as being one of the better treated parks in the Cedar Fair chain. They have I305 and Teisted Timbers, man, that's ridiculous! I'd say they are right in line with Kings Island, which everyone seems to think is one Cedar Fairs babies. KD is a beautiful park, great rides, wonderful atmosphere. They have plans for the Volcano space, everyone needs to have faith in the mothership when it comes to coaster removals. Vortex and Firehwak removed from KI in consecutive years, I can almost guarentee something, aside from Orion, is coming KI way. KD has nothing to worry about, feel luck we Cedar Fair treats KD the way they do.
from what I understand that kings domian has a county that not wanting to help with tax cuts or permits to allow them to build. an carowinds with two different counties to deal with is not dealing with same problems there willing to help cedar fair
As a young coaster enthusiast you have earned a sub! I live in Virginia so I have a good amount of parks around. And this new coastsr sounds awesome! Also Im ok with the crypt going away. It hurt and gave me way to much whiplash. I also still miss volcano.
Volcano was my first steel coaster. It awakened the thrill seeker in me and began a life of finding bigger and faster ride, and it makes me feel much better knowing King's Dominion put a lot of effort into keeping it open. I really wish I could have ridden it just one more time, but I moved back to the East Coast just a few months too late 😭
Volcano is also the coaster that got me really interested and I sure wish I could have got one last ride too.......even tho I did get of of the last rides.
They should just shut it down. I don't live far and pass it all of the time to go to Busch Gardens. My last trip was sooo horrific and I love amusement parks. I never want to go back. I travel out of state to go to amusement parks more than drive 30 mins.
I hope Volcano is replaced by another launch coaster, maybe a launched B&M invert that's different enough from Volcano but also appropriately pays omage.
I need to get back to KD, I only live 2 hours away but since the park was always so poorly run compared to Busch Gardens, we only went once every 5 or 6 years or so. Looks like it's continuing to improve. Last time i went was when Intimidator was brand new (what a coaster!)
I wish they would bring Volcano back cannot believe they removed that makes the park incomplete it was always a great ride plus they should add more extreme rides in the park
It sucked that Volcano had to bite the dust, but understandable, with its troubles of being a very unique prototype coaster. Its a mystery why Anaconda is still around; it just doesn't that nostalgic fun factor, with adequate comfort like other old school coasters; Montezooma's Revenge, Scorpion or Nessie (and other old steelies).
I admire what KD is doing, but removing Volcano and the Crypt while Busch Gardens adds the record-breaking Pantheon in 2020, and ANOTHER major coaster for 2021, was a mistake. Most close to the inner-workings of KD, myself included, believe 2021 will bring a B&M Wing Coaster like Gate Keeper at Cedar Point on a much smaller scale. That will be nice, but Busch bringing a potentially 300+ foot ride on the heels of Pantheon will overshadow a 100+ foot tall Wing coaster. I want KD to succeed, but timing is everything, and filling the void of Volcano in the this time frame alongside Busch's progress will be a sight to see. Good luck and RIP Volcano. Missed but not forgotten.
KD cannot compete with BG. Have you been to BG recently? They have been adding roller coasters every year, while KD is removing all of theirs. i305 is about 10 years old now and Twisted Timbers is not brand new, it was a rebab. I am very dissapointed with KS as it's my home park
I do agree Busch Gardens has really stepped up and pantheon looks so good. Can’t wait. I305 and TT are top coasters tho (Pantheon also will be) and we still don’t know what’s gonna replace volcano yet for sure. But yes things are looking great at Busch Gardens.
There are people that say BGW already has a better coaster lineup but I am not one of them. I also think this buildup is in prep for BG's own inevitable closures, but yes they're really stepping it up. Last season KD still had the best 2 rides and a strong backing. If they get the wing coaster, I see that more as backing but solid as it comes. As to the video, yes it's not time to panic yet for sure! I really wonder if they expected Volcano to last much longer anyway, but even one year of that lineup would have been fantastic. [Shockwave rant omitted]

It takes time. Besides it wasn't they're fault. It was intamin who is charging them too much money to operate Volcano. However The Intimidator could use some more airtime.
Congrats on a great video with true feeling & outstanding footage! Having a soft spot for KD for its past, I've often loved the park for what it COULD be. This video gives hope for all of us past & present KD fans! A thumbs up to CF for keeping the park clean & botanical. Now if the proper THEMING can take place in each section....I love Old VA, but not prehistoric 😆! The dinosaurs could be relocated to Safari Village with a "Lost World" theme....thats why I wish the mtn from Volcano could be rebuilt into a bigger & improved Haunted River. There are rumors of Avalanche being removed 😥....instead of that, give it a proper THEMING by relocating it to Candy Apple Grove, paint red swirls on the white track, & rename it the Peppermint Twist 😊. If a free-spin coaster does replace the Crypt, what kind of proper theming will it have in Safari Village? Instead of the free-spin, would love to see a type of dark, mining expedition ride (like in the Temple Of Doom),which would be a perfect fit in Safari Village 😊. I'm glad I got to ride Volcano in 2018 before it closed, but I honestly don't miss the ride. It had a unique layout, but the line was always super long and it usually wasn't worth it to wait 1-2 hours in line just for it to breakdown. I'm sure we'll see somthing replacing Volcano and The Crypt soon. I would love to see a custom RMC single rail coaster replace Volcano and a Mondial top scan replace The Crypt.
Always looked down on this park naively thinking that there's no point in going when King's Island closer and "better". From what this video shows, maybe there is more than meets the eye. Cedar Fair really has done a lot for this park
Considering they just got TT, no it’s not the end for KD. Cedar fair is weak in the southeast and they’re gonna hopefully try to get it on par with Carowinds, then when that happens kick it into high gear for both parks.
I think kings dominion is coming back cedar fair still keeps our park clean and running multiple trains and after jungle X I think the future is bright

I totally miss the Hanna-Barbera days! ......even the Paramount days were awesome .. there was something about those eras that were just so awesome ...maybe because it was in my youth, who knows. The Rebel Yell was my first REAL roller coaster 🎢... I sat in the very back and when we went down that first hill 🤦♂️ I was DONE!! I thought I was going to die.. 😩😩😩.. but back then the trains had no divider seats and there was only 1 single lap bar straight across, so the bars went down only as far as it could on the biggest person.
Absolutely love this comment! The old lap bars were so awesome! I used to have to curl my toes up in the little gap between the rows on the cars because I was so scared I would fly out. Definitely will always be the ride closest to my heart... (and it will always be called “Rebel Yell” as far as I’m concerned!)

I'm not too confident that the Volcano replacement will be as pleasing as people think. Again, unless they want to add some insane single rail coaster; I'm not sure what they could do with that spot. Volcano was more than just a fast ride. It packed, speed and intensity without being all that tall. Just hearing the LSM motor rocket the train, before getting on was a suspense magnet. It was a must do ride every time people came to the park. Not every replacement that a company does is a must do attraction. For some reason I'm hooked to NIGHT RIDES on TWISTED TIMBERS, as my must do.

What a great video!! I personally love how you made KD look as beautiful a park as BGW. You're rite, KD has been treated pretty good by Cedar Fair! I just hope Cedar Fair does not let us down with a lame coaster replacement to Volcano.
Kings Dominion is kind of my home park as it's about 90 minutes away (Busch Gardens Williamsburg is 20 minutes away) and I have been going to both parks for 30 years now. I go to BG about 20-30 times a year and KD at least 10-15 times a year. Cedar Park has been a HUGE improvement for KD IMO. It the past the park was fairly ugly and you often saw puke in the walkways sit for hours. Now the park is getting closer in beauty to Busch and it much cleaner. The volcano was my favorite launch coaster in the world and I've been on over 30 of them. Sad to see it go but I understand parts were becoming scarce and it was just too expensive to run. Safari Village needs a COMPLETE remake as the decorations are very dated now. I'm looking forward to the future of this park overall.
Cool video. Cedar Fair also bought Carowinds around the same time. Since then that park has had the same type of incredible improvements as Kings Dominion. So sad that Six Flags cannot learn from Cedar Fair's many successes.
I been to a lot of amusement parks, and i love king dominion the best. Maybe cuz its the closet to me, but they need to do something bout the loss of the volcano and anaconda need to be removed as well n replaced with something Busch gardens Williamsburg dont have. They are not even an amusement park (they're a theme park), so in terms of rides, i feel there should be no competition, KD is slacking in that department. I feel their new rides should be a suspended coaster (like the Big Bad Wolf that was at busch gardens) where anaconda is, and a record breaking flying coaster, where volcano was. It can go around flight of fear and the volcano.
Definitely the most glass half full take possible on KD. While the additions & changes are true, KD is not a prioritized park for investment for Cedar Fair. There are putting much more into fast growing markets like Canada Wonderland, Carowinds, and have plans for fast CGA. KI, CP, Knotts have & will continue to get more investments as the top 3 revenue producers. KD is at least 7th in the pecking order maybe 8th of the 11 parks.
I've been going to Kings Dominion since I was a little girl every single year and the flight of fear has never been out of commission so I don't know where you got your information from but you are incorrect. It's broken down and had to be worked on a bunch of times and it used to be called The Outer Limits but it's never been out for an entire season.
Another great job. With KD being my home park I admit I get frustrated with some of the decisions that they make and I too have found myself quick to judge but nevertheless in life things often have to get worse before they get better. Iam confidant that the removal of these rides will bring bigger and better things to come . In the meantime I will continue enjoying what is offered to me here and branch out to some of the other Cedar parks I have not yet been too. Besides what a better excuse for a road trip for me and the family lol. Once again another great video and keep ‘em rollin. Me and my son can’t wait to see what u come up with next

Tommy3Sawtooth it kept getting stuck on the upside down part, and people would be stuck upside down and blood would go down into the head.

I was thinking Hypersonic was removed before the Cedar Fair Purchase. Yeah alot of them are older or tons of work to maintain like you said. I do think cedar fair does a great job with the parks
It’s sad I’ll never get to share Volcano with my kiddos. But I’ll survive. We still have the hybrids. I’m glad they are really working on the theme aspect. I haven’t been in a decade but this video got me excited to visit. I hope covid takes a hike soon!

But the good thing about all this coaster shuffling is that if we don’t end up with something new to replace Volcano, then we will probably just end up with a pretty good modern rebranded coaster.

Kings Dominion is treated as well as the rest of the higher parks, they just cut out a lot more of the mediocre or costly rides, which provides better overall quality.
I wouldn’t be surprised when they do the same to CW. There’s still a lot they could do there.

This is the first time I've watched one of your videos while logged in. My family watches your videos on the big screen because of the quality. Not only because of picture content... but the edit, writing, voice over, and music placement. We fall in love with every ride you speak about because of your passion about each ride. You make every ride feel epic, the triumph they truly deserve. We stay logged out on the big screen for algorithm-sake and diverse needs from youtube. Our home park is Magic Mountain. With the world and our country going through what it is... I hope you can visit our park soon. Safety first, though. I hope you can spend 2 or 3 days capturing our park soon. There's a diverse line up with some clones and some very unique experiences, it is Six Flags of course. Your right, Cedar Fair is fixing to do something BIG in Safari Village. They are not removing two rides in the same area and not have something big on the table to replace them. Great Video!!

King’s Dominion has been struggling in terms of attendance for a few years now. The continued removal of signature attractions are either a sign that Cedar Fair is about to pull a Geauga Lake or have a new master plan for this park. About a decade ago, KD and Carowinds were neck and neck for the 5th largest CF park. Carowinds has clearly taken that place and it doesn’t look as if that will be changing anytime soon. Regardless, KD is very forgettable at this point, so it isn’t surprising Cedar Fair is pulling back from this park.

Great video. When cedar fair took over the park they had lots to do and i think they are doing a great job although its a long process. And yes what ever replaces volcano WILL BE EPIC!!!!

Y'all got it good. Try having magic mountain as your home park... what could be a roller coaster heaven if treated right has been let decay with Twisted Colossus (2015) being the ONLY elite ride in the park added since maybe tatsu in 2006 or more realistically X in 2001.

I see Kings Dominion as being one of the better treated parks in the Cedar Fair chain. They have I305 and Teisted Timbers, man, that's ridiculous! I'd say they are right in line with Kings Island, which everyone seems to think is one Cedar Fairs babies. KD is a beautiful park, great rides, wonderful atmosphere. They have plans for the Volcano space, everyone needs to have faith in the mothership when it comes to coaster removals. Vortex and Firehwak removed from KI in consecutive years, I can almost guarentee something, aside from Orion, is coming KI way. KD has nothing to worry about, feel luck we Cedar Fair treats KD the way they do.
from what I understand that kings domian has a county that not wanting to help with tax cuts or permits to allow them to build. an carowinds with two different counties to deal with is not dealing with same problems there willing to help cedar fair

As a young coaster enthusiast you have earned a sub! I live in Virginia so I have a good amount of parks around. And this new coastsr sounds awesome! Also Im ok with the crypt going away. It hurt and gave me way to much whiplash. I also still miss volcano.
Volcano was my first steel coaster. It awakened the thrill seeker in me and began a life of finding bigger and faster ride, and it makes me feel much better knowing King's Dominion put a lot of effort into keeping it open. I really wish I could have ridden it just one more time, but I moved back to the East Coast just a few months too late 😭
Volcano is also the coaster that got me really interested and I sure wish I could have got one last ride too.......even tho I did get of of the last rides.
They should just shut it down. I don't live far and pass it all of the time to go to Busch Gardens. My last trip was sooo horrific and I love amusement parks. I never want to go back. I travel out of state to go to amusement parks more than drive 30 mins.
I hope Volcano is replaced by another launch coaster, maybe a launched B&M invert that's different enough from Volcano but also appropriately pays omage.
I need to get back to KD, I only live 2 hours away but since the park was always so poorly run compared to Busch Gardens, we only went once every 5 or 6 years or so. Looks like it's continuing to improve. Last time i went was when Intimidator was brand new (what a coaster!)
I wish they would bring Volcano back cannot believe they removed that makes the park incomplete it was always a great ride plus they should add more extreme rides in the park

It sucked that Volcano had to bite the dust, but understandable, with its troubles of being a very unique prototype coaster. Its a mystery why Anaconda is still around; it just doesn't that nostalgic fun factor, with adequate comfort like other old school coasters; Montezooma's Revenge, Scorpion or Nessie (and other old steelies).
I sure wish volcano was still operating too! I also agree about anaconda, Nessie is so much better IMO

I admire what KD is doing, but removing Volcano and the Crypt while Busch Gardens adds the record-breaking Pantheon in 2020, and ANOTHER major coaster for 2021, was a mistake. Most close to the inner-workings of KD, myself included, believe 2021 will bring a B&M Wing Coaster like Gate Keeper at Cedar Point on a much smaller scale. That will be nice, but Busch bringing a potentially 300+ foot ride on the heels of Pantheon will overshadow a 100+ foot tall Wing coaster. I want KD to succeed, but timing is everything, and filling the void of Volcano in the this time frame alongside Busch's progress will be a sight to see. Good luck and RIP Volcano. Missed but not forgotten.
I like this and I agree with it. The timing is bad. Im really hoping for some great stuff soon to that area of the park
KD cannot compete with BG. Have you been to BG recently? They have been adding roller coasters every year, while KD is removing all of theirs. i305 is about 10 years old now and Twisted Timbers is not brand new, it was a rebab. I am very dissapointed with KS as it's my home park
I do agree Busch Gardens has really stepped up and pantheon looks so good. Can’t wait. I305 and TT are top coasters tho (Pantheon also will be) and we still don’t know what’s gonna replace volcano yet for sure. But yes things are looking great at Busch Gardens.
There are people that say BGW already has a better coaster lineup but I am not one of them. I also think this buildup is in prep for BG's own inevitable closures, but yes they're really stepping it up. Last season KD still had the best 2 rides and a strong backing. If they get the wing coaster, I see that more as backing but solid as it comes.
As to the video, yes it's not time to panic yet for sure! I really wonder if they expected Volcano to last much longer anyway, but even one year of that lineup would have been fantastic. [Shockwave rant omitted]
Although i think bg has a better lineup, nothing there can compete with i305 and twisted timbers

It takes time. Besides it wasn't they're fault. It was intamin who is charging them too much money to operate Volcano. However The Intimidator could use some more airtime.
Congrats on a great video with true feeling & outstanding footage! Having a soft spot for KD for its past, I've often loved the park for what it COULD be. This video gives hope for all of us past & present KD fans! A thumbs up to CF for keeping the park clean & botanical. Now if the proper THEMING can take place in each section....I love Old VA, but not prehistoric 😆! The dinosaurs could be relocated to Safari Village with a "Lost World" theme....thats why I wish the mtn from Volcano could be rebuilt into a bigger & improved Haunted River. There are rumors of Avalanche being removed 😥....instead of that, give it a proper THEMING by relocating it to Candy Apple Grove, paint red swirls on the white track, & rename it the Peppermint Twist 😊. If a free-spin coaster does replace the Crypt, what kind of proper theming will it have in Safari Village? Instead of the free-spin, would love to see a type of dark, mining expedition ride (like in the Temple Of Doom),which would be a perfect fit in Safari Village 😊. I'm glad I got to ride Volcano in 2018 before it closed, but I honestly don't miss the ride. It had a unique layout, but the line was always super long and it usually wasn't worth it to wait 1-2 hours in line just for it to breakdown. I'm sure we'll see somthing replacing Volcano and The Crypt soon. I would love to see a custom RMC single rail coaster replace Volcano and a Mondial top scan replace The Crypt.
I can agree that line was never fun and it did break often. Also the single rail would be my dream replacement.

Always looked down on this park naively thinking that there's no point in going when King's Island closer and "better". From what this video shows, maybe there is more than meets the eye. Cedar Fair really has done a lot for this park

Considering they just got TT, no it’s not the end for KD. Cedar fair is weak in the southeast and they’re gonna hopefully try to get it on par with Carowinds, then when that happens kick it into high gear for both parks.

I totally miss the Hanna-Barbera days! ......even the Paramount days were awesome .. there was something about those eras that were just so awesome ...maybe because it was in my youth, who knows. The Rebel Yell was my first REAL roller coaster 🎢... I sat in the very back and when we went down that first hill 🤦♂️ I was DONE!! I thought I was going to die.. 😩😩😩.. but back then the trains had no divider seats and there was only 1 single lap bar straight across, so the bars went down only as far as it could on the biggest person.
Those restraints for sure make the rides better and I also remember that ride feeling so strong years ago
Absolutely love this comment! The old lap bars were so awesome! I used to have to curl my toes up in the little gap between the rows on the cars because I was so scared I would fly out. Definitely will always be the ride closest to my heart... (and it will always be called “Rebel Yell” as far as I’m concerned!)

I'm not too confident that the Volcano replacement will be as pleasing as people think. Again, unless they want to add some insane single rail coaster; I'm not sure what they could do with that spot. Volcano was more than just a fast ride. It packed, speed and intensity without being all that tall. Just hearing the LSM motor rocket the train, before getting on was a suspense magnet. It was a must do ride every time people came to the park. Not every replacement that a company does is a must do attraction. For some reason I'm hooked to NIGHT RIDES on TWISTED TIMBERS, as my must do.

Kings Dominion is kind of my home park as it's about 90 minutes away (Busch Gardens Williamsburg is 20 minutes away) and I have been going to both parks for 30 years now. I go to BG about 20-30 times a year and KD at least 10-15 times a year. Cedar Park has been a HUGE improvement for KD IMO. It the past the park was fairly ugly and you often saw puke in the walkways sit for hours. Now the park is getting closer in beauty to Busch and it much cleaner. The volcano was my favorite launch coaster in the world and I've been on over 30 of them. Sad to see it go but I understand parts were becoming scarce and it was just too expensive to run. Safari Village needs a COMPLETE remake as the decorations are very dated now. I'm looking forward to the future of this park overall.

Cool video. Cedar Fair also bought Carowinds around the same time. Since then that park has had the same type of incredible improvements as Kings Dominion. So sad that Six Flags cannot learn from Cedar Fair's many successes.

I been to a lot of amusement parks, and i love king dominion the best. Maybe cuz its the closet to me, but they need to do something bout the loss of the volcano and anaconda need to be removed as well n replaced with something Busch gardens Williamsburg dont have. They are not even an amusement park (they're a theme park), so in terms of rides, i feel there should be no competition, KD is slacking in that department. I feel their new rides should be a suspended coaster (like the Big Bad Wolf that was at busch gardens) where anaconda is, and a record breaking flying coaster, where volcano was. It can go around flight of fear and the volcano.

Definitely the most glass half full take possible on KD. While the additions & changes are true, KD is not a prioritized park for investment for Cedar Fair. There are putting much more into fast growing markets like Canada Wonderland, Carowinds, and have plans for fast CGA. KI, CP, Knotts have & will continue to get more investments as the top 3 revenue producers. KD is at least 7th in the pecking order maybe 8th of the 11 parks.

As a ride, the crypt makes no sense without the tomb rader theming. Of the 3 parks in the DC metro area, KD is a solid 2 even without Volcano.

I've been going to Kings Dominion since I was a little girl every single year and the flight of fear has never been out of commission so I don't know where you got your information from but you are incorrect. It's broken down and had to be worked on a bunch of times and it used to be called The Outer Limits but it's never been out for an entire season.
In 2006 it was down for almost the entire season until cedar fair got it back up mid August. that’s the season I was talking about

Another great job. With KD being my home park I admit I get frustrated with some of the decisions that they make and I too have found myself quick to judge but nevertheless in life things often have to get worse before they get better. Iam confidant that the removal of these rides will bring bigger and better things to come . In the meantime I will continue enjoying what is offered to me here and branch out to some of the other Cedar parks I have not yet been too. Besides what a better excuse for a road trip for me and the family lol. Once again another great video and keep ‘em rollin. Me and my son can’t wait to see what u come up with next
