JOHN 17:21 - that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. -------------- Catholic, Baptis, Methodist, Pentecostal, Presviterian, Adventist, an more, ----------- "despite the differences, the most important thing is the love we have for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, if we show that love to the world, the world will believe"
This is a great video, especially the discussions about motivation of the songwriters. Very much enjoyed the laid-back almost ad lib performance. This video showed us that we (small church) could do this song, and it seemed to be a success this morning. "Success" as in the Holy Spirit showed up!
Matt Redman is playing collings cj standard and Matt Maher is playing old version of Taylor 614ce. (the one that had blonde color of maple back and sides)
Honest question for my fellow worship leaders: One of the Matt's here is a Roman Catholic, whose doctrine (particularly that of salvation) is a bit different than that of Protestant Christianity...how are we to reconcile this in our worship? Am I wrong for being concerned? Thanks, guys.
@speckofdust21 well, it was probably early in the morning and they are singing the song while sitting down (not the best position). It's about right for Redman. Chris Tomlin even sings it higher in Db. Um, wow...
@acLewBert zzzz.... my point exactly, if they're already gonna drop the key from the original, might as well do it to a point they're comfortable. early in the morning....sitting down, heck they could even be upside down. just do it in a comfortable key, not everyone is a Chris tomlin
@surfergirl0909 hey, sorry to intervene on this debate. But I am in the middle in this debate. Overall I love Jesus. I don't agree with conflict between the Church, because at the end of the day, the church is the bride of Christ. However, i am a little skeptical about whether Catholics are Christians. The reason being this - Ultimately, God is the judge and we have no place to make final decisions about who goes to heaven. however we can make rough opinions through scripture...
Actually the differences are not so huge. The most important thing that we all belive that Jesus Christ has died for us and washed away our sins, so we get the eternal life if we confess our sins and proclaim that Jesus is Lord. All Christians belive it, and this is the reason we all worship God. :)
@surfergirl0909 we know that Sin, is what does not allow us into heaven...because we are unclean. Now, to be allowed into heaven we have to accept Jesus AND repent. To repent for your sins you must first acknowledge them, then turn from them. Now worshiping Mary, is a sin - it is Idol worshipping. (one example of false doctrine, but can be applied to the others) Now to be allowed into heaven we would have to accept it as sin, then turn from it.. otherwise we are unclean? that's why i differ :)
catholics dont worship mary . we pray to her. and we dont judge people god judges .. if anything other churches do that more.. my friends jubilee and he says all guys will burn in hell. who is he to say that someone is going to burn in hell.. thats GODS decision not his

+Loui Chang Correct! I think all 614ce guitars have solid maple back and sides with the brown sugar rub now. Good look.

Jesus said, if they are not against us than it is for us.
Yes
i like this kind of interview songs with guitar
this was played a conference over the weekend... bridge is so powerful!!!!

Great interview, song and camera switching! Now just get some lights!
love the ecumenism!!! :)
i LOVE the bridge.... they should drop the key though... he was singing at his limit i tihnk
Definitely right, didn't notice it was capo 5..
somebody knows what kind of guitar matt used in this video?
Chris Blunt was inspired by this song to write 'you're beautiful'. Check it out and you'll see why.
@Fhercho Menendez Matt maher is playing a taylor. I think. while as Matt Redman is playing a gibson
+MrJesusfreakerik Matt Redman is playing a Collings
I thought this was true until I heard 10,000 Reasons. Key of G. Matt Redman even jokes that he has at least one song to play if he forgets his capo.

It's in B.
EVERY Redman song is in B.
@fherchito84 - Looks like a Taylor
Matt Redman as a worship leader tries to keep things as easy to sing as possible for the congregation as not to hinder their worship.
i want to be a song leader too in our church
I wish more did!!
yes but this is in C.
I thought Matt Maher was a catholic?
Yes, He is catholic. :) What is strange about it? :)
jacekfany
That Matt Redman is not. I just find it odd that they get together to sing, due to the huge doctrinal differences.

I agree, only salvation issues should separate us. The main thing is to keep the main thing as the main thing.
Amen
