and Nere and Dror as well, so there is at least some balance in the good vs evil plathourgh after the good natured companions leave you afrer the massacre.
If Nere were recruitable that would make one more class that is available as the base class of a companion (the only missing would then be Monk and Bard). Also, unpopular opinion, but I think having Kagha as a companion if you expose her plot but have her turn on the Shadow Druids instead of Halsin makes much more sense, like what sounds more logical for a companion ? A woman who just lost everything and is trying to redeem herself or the leader of the grove who just ....... leaves because he feels like tagging along even after he helped against the shadow curse ? Also, Halsin feels very empty as it stands, with not much story going on with him, meanwhile I think Kagha could have had a nice character arc similar to Minthara
@@claytonbarnes6644 He's a sorcerer yes, which means only Monk and Bard left (and I'm pretty sure Alfira was meant to be a companion at some point but was scrapped, but they kept the scene where arrives at the camp for Dark Urge since she dies in this one so it doesn't change much)

If you talk to the spiders in the pit prior meeting Minthara they tell you that she abandoned Lolth and after that you can kill her before that saying something like "You abandoned our godess for a pretender." Works only for Lolth Sworn Drow I think or Lolth Priests.
I love Mintharas voice so so much. Her parts in the Ciaphas Caine books are some of my very favourite parts of any audiobook I ever listened to. She so perfectly hits the point between "Lord Admiral" and "Biggest Fangirl" never heard anything like it.
After doing my second play through I’ve noticed that even though your a half Drow you won’t get into the goblin camp no where near as easy as a pure Drow. However, Minthara can definitely take my rights anytime she wants 😎
People wants to date everybody on video games, but it is secure to say that Sazza smells. And what about Orin? I doubt she ever took a bath if not in blood. Anyone would most likely vomit close to one of these. It is actually surprising Orin is able to kidnap someone in our camp with Scratch there. He could probably sense her a mile away (in the sewers still).
Its sad that you cant have goblin companions if you go the evil route. You really seem to get nothing other than minthara and the slayer form (if you are also durge)
Am I the only who has ever told Minthara that I told Sazza everything and she is to stupid to understand; then proceed to push her into the Spider Pit? No? Just me? Okay. Lol
I’m in my first playthrough and this was the path I took without knowing anything. I really didn’t want to have fight the Goblins because I find battles hard and stressful so I helped Sazza to seek info camp. Then Minthara’s Charisma really convinced me to help them.
We have no short companions in the entire game (besides some of the people you can recruit at Withers) I hope when we get an DLC for BG3 we get atleast one companion that's part of the shorter races Also Larian missed out on a few cool companions that they could have added like Isobel and Aylin, Alfira, Sazza and Omeluum
One thing that confuses me slightly is why Minthara bothers asking Sazza where the grove is when Minthara thinks she is incompetent. why not just ask you or take the info from your mind via tadpole, wouldn't she have more faith in another 'true soul' especially a drow one over a goblin
still find it odd that Goblins werent a playable race. they were for all intents and purposes fully functional. And not all Goblin species are barbaric warmongers. Some are actually quite friendly and in tune with nature, while others can be civilized, if a bit crude. We got orcs, gith, drow and colored dragonborn, who are all considered for the most part to be 'evil' races. Goblins should not have been out of the picture. And Sazza would have been an ideal goblin companion.
Duergar are from the Underdark aswell, so i it makes sense that they would get the same Dialogue as Drows! But i doubt that she would say the same about Humans, Elfs, Tieflings, Dragonborns and so on
@@michaelhenschel251 That is true, both are from the underdark but the dialogue is still the same regardless all be it with just the race changed. I should have specified it was the underdark heritage that specified the dialogue not just being drow.
One commented that Larian might have not allowed "nailing" the goblin Sazza because this could be associated to pedophilia. Despite the reason choosed by that one seemed to be wrong, the conclusion is probably true. Rockstar had problems with that in one of their games. One of their GTAs had a sleeping code (not active during normal playthrough) that contained code for explicit sex, with this code, modders fucked the game with all kind of weird things, leading to a lawsuit against Rockstar, which was then obligated to increase the age rating and to remove the code after. From 17+ to 18+. That might seem little, but actually impacted the company. Therefore, nothing like that were ever added in their games. Then, we can assume that Larian might have not codded sex scenes with small npcs to avoid modders changing the game drastically (this still can be done, but it is harder to say that Larian was lenient with it), which could reverberate against Larian itself. Even if my theory is a bit forceful, I still rather it than believe that MindFlayers are okay but dwarfs are not.
You can have sex as a dwarf, halfling, or gnome. With that in mind, I think your theory's just off. I think they made most of the cast humans, half elves, and full elves (and a tiefling) because those are just the most popular races in D&D by a wide, wide margin.
The way Minthara says "Sazza" is fucking tingly, oh my god
"Ohhh, Sazzaaaaaaaa....."
"Ah...well, the thing about that is... they sorta massacred us" Love the delivery in that line.
