Thank you for your words in this video. I’m so trying to get myself “setup”. I am feeling overwhelmed today because I have different binders and envelopes and categories and games but I need to get organized. You helped me relax and realize I can change things until it works for me and I do want to keep it fun🎉 my goal is to save for Christmas but really pay off debt while using cash method. 💜🎄
I've been watching and cash budgeting for 2 years now and I am one who has all the categories. I regularly stuff 6 binders plus extra for savings challenges. However, our budget has changed recently where we have increased bills as well as slightly decreased income so I am switching it up. After bills and expenses I do not have much left so I will be putting money into 5 broad categories until our car is paid off I think. Home, car, health, personal, and activities. I'm hoping this works and also hoping it is temporary.
I went from being paid once a week to once a month and stopped cash budgeting. It was a hobby I enjoyed and loved seeing my $1000 saving challenge envelope filled with cash. I've gone back to cash budgeting but with place holders to stop overspending.
Jordan. I watched your how to cash budget video several years ago and it helped me so much to think in terms of categories and goals. Also it made it fun for me to visualize with your pretty trackers and binders. Your Etsy shop is great and I love looking at the new products that you come out with. Love your designs ans creativity! Wishing you and your boys a joyous holiday season!
Yay Vlogmas!! When I first started cash budgeting I used a notebook and regular mail envelopes. I didn’t really have categories other than bills and has never heard of sinking funds…feel like I’ve come so far.
I only have one binder: Birthday, Christmas, Emergency, Holiday, Hair and Travel envelopes. I also have a “five & coin” envelope for saving all my fives and coins when cashing it in. I think I would get severely depressed with more envelopes, I’d be spreading myself too thin across my categories.
I don't cash stuff my bills, it stresses me to think I would forget to take that money to the bank, because I would do that lol it's a miracle that I even leave my house with keys 😆 I leave that money in the bank and I write out a full monthly budget and take out the money I need for sinking funds. I now finally understand what a zero based budget is, and I have noticed that spending cash and tracking it has really helped me to see where my money is going. Before, man, oh man, I used to spend way too much and then be having a breakdown because I don't have any money to put gas in my car... 😢
I'm so thankful you commented this, I forgot about it again! I just signed up after seeing your comment, my boys are so excited to watch Elf tonight. ❤❤❤

For getting one month ahead, I focused on saving one week at a time instead of the big monthly amount. The money seemed to accumulate faster that way.
i agree i have to talk myself into to spending my cash when i physically see i only have 20 dollars left whereas if i swipe my card i wont care
