Love these reactions man. HU has been my favorite band for 10 years, but the early days are my favorite era. The songs seem really raw and genuine but also have the feeling of you guys just being kids and having fun. Getting all this behind the scenes info from you is really awesome and learning all the little references to people and places that otherwise make no sense helps alot. Man, knowing that HU could've been more in tone of "Knife Called Lust" makes me sad that it never happened. Those B-Sides (for the most part) are what he's referring to and they were damn well better than the more mainstream / popular songs that would appear later. Funnily enough, my brother listens to all these newer aged emo-rap / hardcore rap artists / bands and doesn't realize that if it wasn't for HU, that genre may have never taken off they way it did. So, thank you Jeff for giving your BTS insight on making these specific gems of the first album. It's amazing.
I think the first 5 songs were The Kids, The Natives, Circles, Bitches, and No. 5. Followed by Turn Off the Lights, My Black Dahlia, Knife Called Lust, Bottle and a Gun, and Scene for Dummies.
@@JeffreyPhillips City, The Loss, and Christmas in Hollywood are somewhere in that timeline too but I think they’re more towards the end especially since Xmas references a bunch of the former songs and City was supposed to be in that Spiderman movie. Just not sure where The Loss would go.

Time Bomb and California Dreaming are also really unique songs as well from the V and New Empire Vol. 1 albums where all of the members take a part in the song. That's kinda lame though that they decided to take away most of your parts from the older stuff that you mentioned a little bit towards the end of the video.
